Deila and Hutter bedding into their new teams

1385

There are parallels between Salzburg and Celtic.  After an outstanding season Salzburg lost their coach, Roger Schmidt, in May to Bayer Leverkusen, appointing Adolf Hutter (commentators beware), who previously managed Austrian Bundesliga club Grodig and is largely unknown outside Austria.

Unlike Ronny Deila, Hutter has not tried to change Salzburg’s system, but the period of transformation has been blamed for Salzburg failing to overcome Malmo in the Champions League play-off round (Malmo taxed Juventus in Turin last night before two second half Tevez goals settled things).  New instructions, new training techniques and, in some cases, new personnel present challenges.

Ronny has had a few false starts but the return of Scott Brown at the weekend, the return to form of Kris Commons, who will surely start, and the addition of Scepovic, Tonev and Wakaso to the squad give reason for confidence.

We’ve had over 3,000 responses so far to the survey on Celtic fans, who they are, where they came from, and what their views are.  The results will give an excellent insight into this time in our history.  If you’ve not had a chance to leave your mark yet, please do so here (only your first submission counts).

There 2 unused polling cards in the house .Trying to think of how they will not be wasted. I could sell them or get some friends to use them as long as they vote the right way.

    Is this allowed?

    Hows your origami skills?

Fold them into superb cardboard airplanes, attach ‘YES’ banners to the back of them and let them fly over your town, til they are shot down by some unionists!

I’m going into tonight with hope rather than expectation.

It’s another massive game for Ronny, his team selection and formation will tell us whether he’s learning.

    Right must dash.

  4. HT,

I’m the same. More in hope than expectation.

I’d say RD is learning though. His selection away to maribor compared to Warsaw proves this imo.

I think the away performances have been better than the home ones if you take away the last ten minutes in Poland where we had been playing with 10 men since the first half .

If you have a spare 12 minutes have a watch at what Charlie Mulgrew tweeted last night and if you don’t have a lump in your throat or a tear in your eye after watching this then I don’t know what would move you…..

Hoping for a YES and an aspirational future , with a bit of hard work, but just as proud of the no YES voters for doing what they think is best for Scotland too. Celebrate history CQN. Win , lose or draw. Hail, Hail.

Just had a read at the BBC website football page.

They have a list of tonight’s Europa League games, split into two, not in chronological order nor what time a game kicks off.

We are not in the first part of fixtures yet Spurs and Everton are for some reason..

I’m getting paranoid about my paranoia.

From a leading member of the SNP.

”Any notion that an independent Scotland would be a leftwing country is delusional nonsense”

  13. Kinda wish I hadn’t voted by post three weeks ago and was going to polling station today. My 17 year old son went to our local polling station just after 7am and said he had to queue, not for long but normally you walk in at any time of day and it’s empty.

  14. Done it!

Think Ernie’s aff oot cos that Jim Mather quote’s been playing on a loop for about 10 hours now.

Thanks for that reminder. The majority want a left wing government as much as they want the right wing ones we’ve had for 35 years.

Vote YES to keep extremists out and let the majority get the government they deserve.

  19. what a a day ahead, surely history can be made?

a win for Scotland and Celtic on the same day ? How can that be ?

Enough of small questions, today is a day where we ask ourselves one big question.

Do we feel confident in ourselves , our people , our country and our vision?

Never before have we had such a chance to decide our own future ( I will desist from the our children’s children cliché ). I will be ashamed but also embarrassed when speaking to people in Europe if we do not take this chance. The people of many countries would give their eye teeth and a lot more to have this opportunity, yet we may well be afraid to follow ?

My fear is that we will revert to “a big feartie nation ” a country full of 90 minute patriots and people afraid of change….surely we are better than that?

    (Yes , I know that`s more questions )

I hope for ,and will soon pray for a Yes vote , my gut feel is my wish will be narrowly defeated for the reasons above..a simple fact is that many people are happy to just roll along. That would shame me but should shame them more. We would forever be known as a nation with no vision , no hope , no courage.

    That`s not Scotland ?

    Go for it…..

  20. Bamboo – what does this actually mean?

When we get our independence Ive got my eyes on a couple of the big country mansions near here. The boots are going to be on the other foot soon.

  21. Just voted YES and feeling great about it,if you were to tell me ten years ago that I would have then I would have thought you mad.Scotland is moving forward no matter how things go today we will not be taken for granted ever again. What makes me even happier was that I sat up late last night with my youngest son and my wife who had planned to vote no and we discussed the reason why he and I were voting YES,after about an hour she agreed that for his future she had to vote YES,so we now have five YES votes from this house.

Four season tickets and five YES votes I’m feeling good :-)

Just got a message from a mate,he told me that Alex Salmond will be renaming empire biscuits freedom biscuits tomorrow:-)

Well when the result’s in tomorrow, if you’re still posting here (I suspect a lot of you will be gone) you can discuss that with your fellow nats who’ve been singing from a different hymn sheet.
