Embarrassment for the guys at Newco who have to sign up to this guff

518

PSG were wonderful last night. They served up a great night of European football as we witness what may be the end of the greatest team of all time.

Mark Warburton fired his opening salvo against Newco with a joint statement with Davie Weir and Frank McParland issued through the League Managers’ Association today:

“We would like to formally place on record, that at no stage did we resign from our positions at Rangers.

“It is a matter of surprise to us, and to the League Managers Association, which is advising all three of us, that despite its detailed public statements, the club has not answered key questions put to it by the LMA, in writing, requesting an explanation of why it suggested that we resigned from our positions.”

I’m cringing with embarrassment on behalf of the guys at Newco who have to sign up to this guff, Stewart Robertson in particular, who has titular hands on the wheel but must feel like a hostage to fortune. This is not how he ran things at Motherwell.

More lawyers’ fees, more reputational damage, less chance of a credible future.

I remember that game being on the news as the lowest ever attendance at the Hunnery. Was it a mid week game as I kinda remember it in floodlights with the occasional fan sitting wae a big jaekit between awe the broon cream orange red seats.

A neighbour of mine in Knightswood in late ’70s. Was a die hard hun, orange order drummer, who went to every Rangers game home and away, always dressed in half orange, half Rangers regalia. My late dad loved the night he sneaked out dressed in black to be one of the 2000 against the Jags.

Everytime a dog runs on a fitba pitch, my mind chants John Greig. :)

great cross by Philip Lahm …. hard to say someone as well regarded as he is could be underrated … but, in any other era (except the messi/ronaldo one he is in), I think he would be talked about as a once in a generation type of player ….

How about finishing behind the fecking Sheep? How many years is it since that happened? Some things are about more than money and stages of European qualification – finishing behind Dolly would be an absolute embarrassment.

    What an embarrassment

The embarrassment being that we haven’t scored 4 goals in a league game all season and have only scored 3 once.

2,000 vs partick thistle , at ibrox, after we beat them 4-2 in 79.

Was that the game when Ian Archer said that if there was 2,000 in Ibrox the night then 1,500 of them must have paid in then went straight back oot again.

By the way I have never met a Hun from that era that wisnae at that game. :-)

    A loss to the game.

This Bayern team are fun to watch.

Lewandowski … only 6′, but plays like a much bigger forward. Robben … on song is unplayable …. Alcantro and Vidal are formidable inthe middle …

I will confess that I was never an Ancelotti fan, but I am having second thoughts about him….

Huns V Thistle 2000 crowd was the Friday after we beat them to win league with ten men. I was at Wembley the next day and spoke to Bertie Auld who was cracking jokes about it.
