Really pleased Leigh Griffiths is back in the Scotland squad, it’s just reward for his work this season, although the prospect of having so many Celtic players on international duty in June is an unwelcome one, considering we’ve Champions League qualifiers to prepare for in July. Preseason is already looking fraught.
I’d convinced myself I wasn’t too bother if newco are promoted this season or not, all the big battles have been won and lost. I realised differently when I received a text yesterday saying Queens were a goal up. Your instinct can tell you things your head can’t.
Another season of lower league football will drain them of an additional £10m, which I don’t think they have, but I don’t think they have enough money to complete a season in the top flight either. It doesn’t matter if the boat sinks in 50m of water or 50km, there would be a deficit in either league. Viability remains the subject of undocumented fantasy, cannon fodder-dom awaits in the top flight, ignominious avoidance in the lower leagues.
If Mike Ashley cuts them some slack, they will eventually be a top 12 club. When they are, Celtic will earn an extra £4m from ticket sales and indirect incremental income, enough to make a difference on the field. Similar income will go to Ibrox, but this isn’t enough to fund a turnaround. My preference would be to have both Hibs and Hearts back next season but I’m chilled either way.

Sorry, I wrote minimum mistakenly in the second part of rthe post – I meant living. Yes, the whole report was about Living wage – but the fact remains – the only company in the country not paying the living wage they named was Celtic.

I wouldn’t worry about those employed at Celtic who are not on the living wage, after all, apparently it is in a lot of cases their second or third jobs. Also, no doubt Celtic’s renowned commercial department charged with exploring new revenue streams will soon cotton on to a subsidiary PayCheque Loans company at mates rates for said employees, so we can all chip in to widen, and lengthen, and polish, and make hotter, our office bearers driveways. We know it is the socialist and moral thing to do.
Why stop at employees, we could expand the PayCheque Loans company’s clientele, at mates rates, to empower our support @ say circa 500% APR.

If Celtic are worried about it harming the Celtic brand, they will take the BBC to task, but going by the Celtic balance of probability book, they won’t see it as harming the brand and thus will replace the corporate hospitality Chardonnay with Chablis next time the BBC visit.
Celtic supporters are used to silence and don’t mind forking our for a few nice bottles of Chablis for our buddies from the beeb, after all, at the end of the day, when all is said and done, when you’ve counted the chickens and milked the cows and washed your hands, it is the coin garnered/harvested from the Celtic Supporters pay cheques that ultimately pays for the quality of wine on offer.

Another point, it was the 4th official who identified the issue with Scott McDonald, some 15- 30 secs after the incident ? For the ref to react
TV evidence would have got there just as quick, so how come it cannot be used for such major incidents like our semi Final non – decision ?
