Nope not what I said at all. Just pointing out the irony of someone complaining about the intellectual standards on the blog whose level of debating skill was more “flying house brick” than “rapier like wit”.
I would say that the standards of debate and behavior have fallen over the years. While a Celtic blog this place has always been open for free discussion of any topic provided the debate was carried out in a civilized manner. I disagree with a lot of the political, religious and personal views held by contributoors on here, however that’s my problem not Paul67’s.
I do not agree with insulting our host, how you conduct your self is your business.

Earlier this evening there was reference to Celtic having to play in the first round of the Big Cup the season after we won it. Someone stated that they thought that it was something to do with trouble in Europe at the time. I suspect the person was confusing that with Kelly refusing to play teams from behind the Iron Curtain at another time.
The morning after Lisbon, I met Bertie and Wispy in the street in Estoril, near the team hotel. Speaking to them about the game, I mentioned that we would get a bye in the next season, but I was informed immediately by one of the lhads that the format had been changed and Celtic would have to play in the first round.

For my part I took his article as referring to the after effects of our win on Sevco as being comparable to the after effects of Ali’s win. I did not read them as equating the two achievements.
