The Barton issue: it seems bizarre to suspend a player for four weeks after an incident, more so to extend that by a further week immediately before a clear-the-air meeting, but it’s not.
This has got nothing to do with the player. Whatever he did with a team-mate in the aftermath of our 5-1 win a month ago has nothing to do with his continuing suspension. Nor is the player’s subsequent charge for gambling on football.
I’m pretty sure it’s not even about money, or the player’s lack of ability. This is about the manager and his board. Who authorised his signing in the summer and on what basis was he employed? Warburton has played his hand by passing the issue up to his board. The board can try to impose the player on the manager, again, or they can find the money to make the problem go away.
Or maybe the manager will go instead.

MACJAY1
CHEERS , pal.
Keep spreading the Gospel.
I couldn’t give a shite one way or another if barton ever kicks another ball for the various hun clubs, he’s an irrelevance now.
They lost the PR war versus Scott Brown and Joey the Celtic supporting, anti royalist, Catholic lover is now their sacrificial lamb. Let them try eat him. Let them get on with it and let him eat them.
We have bigger fish to worry about than the Nazi class of Scottish society, we have German adversaries coming soon.
There’s a certain irony in that.
Fuck barton and fuck the hun and their media circus.
I trust Hamilton Tim and the Celtic Trust, our manager and players, and Anabelle Goldie.
In that order.
Melbourne Mick u r correct again.I am feeling like shite this beautiful Monday morning.I was out with a couple of the bhoys from our wee Celtic club .They actually gave the barman money for pints of beer.I’ll show u how to do it when i see u at the week-end.By the way i do admire your tenacity to get a Celtic shop in Melbourne .Somehow I think Almore will get his cafe first.Keep up the banter bhoys ,I really enjoy it.I’m away for a shower, taking the Ministry of violence out to the Monday club for a curer, HAIL HAIL
Tontine Tim,
Just reading back and and your response.
The 1958 WC qualifiers v Spain brings back memories for me.
I attended the home game at Hampden, which was George ” Corky” Young’s last International.
He is the one whose consecutive record Willie Ormand was obliged to protect.
You are correct, he was not the archetypal “hun”, but I’m sure he had all the “social” qualifications.
After his retirement, he went on to manage the ill fated Third Lanark and was shafted by the crooked chairman, Bill Hiddleston, who killed the club.
Latterly, he owned the Tillieoodrum (sp) Hotel, wherever the hell that was.
To those who never saw John Higgins play, he was a very slightly built winger, with spindly legs, which looked as if they couldn’t withstand even the slightest challenge.
However, he was a very astute player, who could play the killer ball and was a marvelous crosser of the ball, especially on the run.
Ah, the memories. Those were the days!
DD, if you meet either of they bums (gordybhoy64 / the lurkintim), ask them to sort their shit out and get my hippers back to me.
Hopefully they enjoyed the contents and its time to send those vessels back to papa:_)

thomthethim, thanks for putting TET in touch with me.

A weekend of international breaks (ffs0, DIY, irritating business and bored kid only 2 days into the October holiday and I make time to sit down and watch the Boston Redsox (them fightin’ Irish) try and resue their season and keep big Papi going for one mor egame and I find the bloody thing’s rained off.
Now it’s almost kick-off in the trump v Hilary bout 2.
Use my ticket, don’t tell the missus about the Sox postponment, and stay up all night? Popcorn ready?
Tempting; never seen a media (the Americans) in such a fankle over a couple of wankers talking on a bus like, well, a typical couple of wankers.
Who though politics could be such fun?
Latest from Phil.

Wow, the yanks have even rolled out a vampiric brothel-madame to introduce events…
…Followed by the Duke brothers from Trading Places…

Lunchtime Sydney.
Must watch bout between ” Done bad things ” and ” Said bad things ” .
No winners . Lots of losers.
Having been in Manchester all weekend visiting family, I have had sporadic access to the blog, but noticed the Press Bar being mentioned.
I attended the Press most every day for five years between 1977 and 1982.
Student at Strathclyde, ASS :)))
Spent more time there than any lecture or tutorial, that’s for sure.
Great times.
BobM, more pish from “oor phil”
They will die with or without phil’s melodramatic bull. He used to write the news, now he sit by and fires wee bits in from the side.
utter shite

Hillary plays the misogyny card .
Blatantly biased mediators.
So far.
Mark WarBURTON
Joey BARTON
Coincidence? I think not ;)
Trump’s doing well so far. Meds keeping the mentalist in him at bay. Hilary on the edge of rattles. silently seething.
LOL, Trump trumps her. Hilary’s going to go at him Begbie style anytime soon…
Riveting viewing , pal..
” `Cos you would be in jail. ”

At last we are on the downhill stage of International Week.
I think International Football has had its day.
Can’t wait until we resume our quest for six in a row, en route to the ten, and our crack at securing European football after Christmas.
Finallylostanyinterestinyouscotland CSC
Anderson Cooper, Hilary’s bitch. Trump up against it with him as anchor.

That’s the debate just about won right there; will be replayed above everything else. Surprisingly great comic timing from him.
Watching the Presidential candidates debate
Trump (et) is an absolute phanny.
Hilary is a kok
Scary that one of these two is going to be Commander in Chief of the biggest war machine on the planet, and have the nuclear button on their desk.
DODE
Sorry for late reply, princess needed a lift to shops.
Yes as soon as they Aussie girls hear that Scots or Irish
brogue they are hooked.
H.H Mick
Au contraire, America’s finally going to get the president it deserves for flodidng us with 50 odd years of trash tv, shite action movies, ridiculous superheroes, and terrible sensationalism designed to re-write history and the modern world into the Yank overlords’ fictionalised comic-book wormongering Orwellian nightmare.
Onwards toward the Whitehouse, lunatic puppets…
I suspect Trump’s the reincarnation of little Caligula, now risen to power in this future life and ready to unleash a new brand of his previously stymied teenage despotism upon the world, and that Hilary is some sort of alien lizard queen (re: V) with a dastardly plan to thin the human herd, although I’ll need the Donald’s coke craving to reach overdrive in the next hour so that he takes a lunge at her, scratches the replicant skin off her face and reveals the glistening green scales in order that my theory can be backed-up; the Dali Lama will be sufficient to ratify the Trump bit…
Trump’s killing her here. She’s a career politician who places too much emphasis on her tired rhetoric, but no-one’s really listening to the blandness; he’s a dick, but a dick who can talk the people’s language, hammer his points home. Seems too combative in this debate format for Hilary to counter.
Dear oh dear, Hilary trots out a cringeworthy ‘Little Felix the Ethiopian orphan’ anecdote. I’m afriad she’s on the ropes and reaching blind now.
Trump’s stopped sniffing so much; very good sleight of hand because I for one never saw him sneak a line when she was blabbing.
Ohhh….Benghazi’s rolled out and Hilary’s facing the count.
Debate done. Good grief. Trump blitzed her.
Completely nailed her on all the populist interests; Hilary little or no answer but to again revert to rhetoric and more obscure factual references. Just a lawyer, not a politician – nowhere near as skilled and slippery as her husband.
She’s sleekit, and got chewed up by the big boorish businessman. That felt more like watching a Trump boardroom savaging than a presidential debate. She appeared to think the war was won. Looked like she might greet a little at some points.
Well, at least it was better than watching Scotland shaft a nother generation’s football hopes. On an aesthetic point, Trump’s wife’s a right hot-looking vampire and his daughter Ivanka’s an incongruous uber-babe.
To bed, to rise to work again. Is international break over yet?
Nah? Ah, well….

========================================
That was my impression.
Amazingly , two Aussie commentators saying Hillary won it.
Mind you , the only one that MIGHT make a difference ,imho , is the final one.
Sand….
Seriously?
You must be on a parallel planet.
Debate? Debate about what? Strategy? Policy? Vision?
I have little time for candidate Clinton but Trump does not debate..he is moronic.
Debate produces illumination not heat.
That Trump still has an outside chance of winning is as candid an illustration of the shallow, sensationalist and subservient nature of modern media as you could find.
Dear God.
HH
Good morning from a beautiful, dry, clear skied, autumnal feeling East Kilbride.

Dear god is right.
Moronic ?
What an insult to those Americans who have supported him with their votes.
All morons ? Or just ” deplorables .”
Or just not smart enough to see it from your perspective ?
Pobrecitos.
The agenda was not determined by Trump , but by the biased ” moderators ” .
Your media criticism I agree with .
Wholeheartedly.
The ” moderators ” were the manifestation of that sensationalism , nay bias.
Guardian says Trump was wandering behind Clinton like a rapist during the debate
