Media fast and loose with Neil Lennon comments

906

The annual raft of idle speculation unsettling Celtic’s playing and managerial resources is well underway.  One newspaper headline today proclaimed, “Celtic boss wants Canaries to approach him”, based on Neil Lennon when talking about moving to England saying, “There has been no offer, there has been no concrete phone call or anything like that, so I haven’t really had a decision to make on it”.  Countless others have followed in a similar theme.

Neil Lennon has not really hidden the fact that he would like to manage in the FA Premier League one day, but none of the journos with pages to fill have any notion on his thoughts of dropping a division in England.  In the real world, Neil is showing no reticence in pursuing team development plans for next season.  We’ll be involved in Champions League football two months from tomorrow, the manager is busy on the matters in hand.

Best wishes to John Brown for his inspired attempts to take down Newco Rangers.  More power to you, John, I hope you have any many lemmings lined up as possible.  Some months ago the plotters had a notion that they would starve Newco shareholders into handing over the club for zilch, or £1 less than Rangers were sold to a liquidation expert for.  It remains possible that Sevco will starve, but notions that there will be an outcome for the plotters which is more desirable than an existence under the current crew are fading by the day.

Don’t forget, we’ve Tommy Gemmell, live on the blog, on Friday between 13:00 and 16:00.  He’ll be here to chat and answer your questions.

Issue 20 of CQN Magazine, CQLisboN, is out and enjoying great reviews. Click here to read for FREE.

  2. Eddieinkirkmichael re sammi

You are correct loyalties etc have changed since bosman.now I like Sammi and maybe a years extension given last year would have been a call but it did not happen.

Negotiation is a 2 way process.and the rewards are lucrative but Sammi and our club let it go.he is now a free agent which athis age and a world cup coming up can hiopefully give Sammi what did not materialise here with us.

Hiscontribution was wonderful and all we read of him was bout fitba whether good or bad

Sorry I missed ye at the hootey it would have been good to talk Celtic.

Really enjoyed those clips of big Georgious

At least we’ll see him in action soon for Greece against Japan, Columbia and the Ivory Coast in the World Cup.

He plays well for his country and from a Celtic point of view he could be sorely missed a few weeks later in our CL qualifying games.

  5. Ian Murray

I always thought the goal credited to Rat boy on black Sunday

Was if not scored assisted by Murray who was on a pre-contract

  6. I notice Hamburg are playing Greuther Furth tomorrow night for their right to remain in the Bundesliga 1st leg 7.45 BT Sport

  7. Had a guy came into my office today with a holiday slip for a day in June. Approved it. Shortly after, another appears. Another holiday request, same day. Odd, but it happens, though not usually requested so far in advance. Shortly after, another. Hmmm. I’m thinking ” there’s some kinda function on that I’m clearly not invited to”. So I asked the 3rd guy, ” ok, what’s happening that day?”

” England are kicking off at 5 pm in the World Cup that evening!”

Where’s ma backshift staff gonna come from?

    Do I approve anymore?

    Or shall I be a right b********** :-))

  8. nakasammi: I agree, he made the Champions League his own. Hopefully with the high esteem his is held by Barca (triple marking), and their transfer ban at least temporarily lifted, he can finish off his career with them. (Hopefully as successfully as Larsson …)

“@scotDMsport: BREAKING… #Rangers board in climbdown to Union of Fans as they offer Ibrox deal. More to follow.”

Two teams who have run themselves into the ground. I like the look of Sevilla`s M`Nokia.

  11. Re Sevco

    Good news in my opinion.

Without a climb down – no money – admin immediately – King consortium buy the club for peanuts. ( Kings plan from day 1)

    Now?

Security given that assets won’t be sold, season book money handed over, purse strings will be soooo tight they’ll strangle , no transfers in, no promotion, another year without them.

    Strange day, was getting ready earlier to take Mrs TET out to celebrate her birthday, have spent the past few hours in the casualty dept with her. she fell over when her leg cramped up, her sciatic nerve they said, pumped full of steroids, still can’t walk, all my fault btw >}

Anyways, Lenny, he will leave at some point, later rather than sooner I hope, but for the sake of his family, he will leave, and that means extra money as well as the well being of his nearest and dearest.

I know that Lenny likes a beer, how sad that he can’t go out for one without a minder in the city he works in.
