Ogilvie was born for this moment as SFA to consider expelling Rangers

877

Although Rangers won their case at the Court of Session today, they have the option not to serve the ruling on the SFA that its Judicial Panel’s 12 month ban on player registration is illegal.  Winning the point in law might sound like a victory, but taking the Association to court breaks membership rules of the SFA, rules imposed on all associations by Fifa.

We will find out soon enough the reach of SFA president, Campbell Ogilvie, who was one of the recipients of an EBT which precipitated Rangers crisis.

Rangers are deep in Sion territory now.  Either they walk away from this showdown, the SFA expel or suspend them from football, or Fifa will shortly remind the SFA of their duties when a member club takes action in the civil courts.

Campbell Ogilvie was born for this moment; it justifies him holding onto his position all these months despite being “heavily conflicted”, according to his chief executive.  I do not expect this to end well.

Despite an independent judicial panel ruling against Rangers, there is no way the office holders at the SFA will expel Rangers, no matter what they do. They would rather jeopardise the Scotland national team and every other club’s European participation.

Was he even a real professor ? Sounded like an extra from Only Fools And Horses. As for the female – That’s twice I’ve watched her on that programme and both times she looks totally out of her depth.

The neo cons in America have a brilliant way of dealing with facts.

They decide what the truth is, and bombard the media and others with their propaganda until it is accepted as fact.

If they decide to change position completely (i.e. Usama bin Laden used to be a good guy, but then he was a monster, or Sadaam used to be a good guy, but then was a monster, or Quaddafi used to be a monster, and then he was a good guy for a wee while, and then he was a monster, or Mubarrak was a good guy, and eventually we had to accept he was a monster, so we could get our new guy in later this month.) then they simply tell everyone the new ‘truth’ and the complient media will do the rest.

They have no shame, “We will tell you the truth, as and when we decide what it will be, and you will believe it. And when we decide to change what the truth is, we will tell you, and you will believe it”.

The huns/SFA/SLA are all trying to reinvent the truth on a daily basis. They are nasty, nasty people.

    From tomorrow’s Express-

CELTIC have made a move for Republic of Ireland’s Euro 2012-bound midfielder Keith Andrews.

The Parkhead club have held talks with the out-of-contract West Bromwich Albion star and rough financial figures package have been discussed.

Andrews, who is in the Republic’s Euro 2012 squad, has been offered a new deal at the Hawthorns but Lennon believes he can convince him to swap the English Premier League for the SPL and Champions League football.

The 31-year-old moved from Blackburn to West Brom on a short-term deal in January but the other added complication is that Roy Hodgson who signed him has since moved on to take up the England job.

Andrews started his career with Wolves and also spent time at Blackburn, MK Dons and Hull, as well as having loan spells with the likes of Stoke and Ipswich Town.

Celtic are also keen to sign Matt Mills from Championship side Leicester City

Celtic also have an interest in West Bromwich Albion striker Simon Cox but no official contact has been made between the clubs.

Lennon’s main target remains Jordan Rhodes at Huddersfield Town but the Hoops have still to table an official bid – as West Ham and Swansea are also hovering.

Celtic are also keen to sign Matt Mills from Championship side Leicester City. Lennon wants to land the former Reading centre half who is surplus to requirements at the Walker’s Stadium.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson also wants Celtic defender Kelvin Wilson and talks on a swap deal are on-going, although there is still a possibility that Mills could move north in a loan switch.

  15. So HMRC are offered a measly 9p in the pound, if……IF………..the ugly ones win the tax case. Alternatively, they get hee-haw if the tax case is lost. All this against a backdrop of D&P walking away with £5m and Charles Green getting £112m of assets for nothing (the £5-8m purchase price being an interest loaded loan).

Ibrox is an asset that could yield an impressive rent for years to come if Rangers are resurrected. Why wouldn’t HMRC chance their arm by going after the ownership of Ibrox and a yearly rent that would confine Rangers to mid-table mediocrity forevermore?

And where does Whyte’s floating charge feature in all of this? Does the floating charge remain? Does he rely on the floating charge to indemnify himself against Ticketus calling up his personal guarantees?

Why do I have this nasty sense of foreboding that the horribles will jump up off their death bed and continue with their quest to corrupt and stain Scottish society unabated? I want some concrete bad news for them soon to correct all of this.

    Craiginho

  16. Not sure about their assets being valued at £100m but a fire sale of their players would get them more than what’s on offer

    McGregor £2m

    Naismith £2m

    Davis £3m

    Whitaker upto £1m

    Lafferty upto £1m

    Edu £0.5m

and there must be a few more.

Wish my Euro ticket would come up and I’d see this Green chap.

I had to dig deep into the grey stuff, but I know who he now, aye, he could well do a job for us, in the mould of Lenny himself.

    31 according to wiki.

He is free, won’t cost the earth in wages, and hopefully frees up Lenny to make a decent marque signing, or at least I can dream :>)

  24. Re.Keith Andrews, why are we even looking, we already have too many midfielders and should offload at least one. Decent, steady player who no doubt would do a decent job, add a bit of experience, but at who’s cost in the team?

  25. Are Duff and Duffer on crack?
