Only fretful talking up an early return

125

Best of luck to Jonny Hayes, who will return to Aberdeen after three years at Celtic.  He arrived as the classic antithesis to a ‘project player’; after a seven figure deal , just shy of his 30th birthday.  His time will be remembered for that goal at Ibrox and some solid performances in Europe.

Weekend briefing by Newco said they hope to accommodate some fans at games by late August is aspirational, subject to Scottish Government clearance and ahead of what most clubs are prepared to say at this point.  Unlike cinemas or churches, football stadiums are outdoors and they have nominated seating that is easy to steward.  They should be in the first wave of opening up, but no one in the game is in control of what that will happen.  Clubs with less need to fret are less likely to talk-up an early opening.

I too pay by four instalments, 0% interest but there is a £30 arrangement fee. The arrangement fee will be due July, with my first instalment. Then three payments in August, September and October. My ST is £666, total I will pay will be £696, which includes the £30 arrangement fee paid to V12 finance.

    Exactly.

That part of their statement gave the game away.

They are desperate and selling only 32k season-tickets will hole them below the waterline.

    C’mon Celtic….Not good enough.

  11. Can’t believe they’re going to beat us to Lyndon ‘6 goals on grass’ Dykes. That should see them home and hosed for yet another close season cup. Well done Gerrard. Great effort.

It’s amazing what 3 months of no football can do to their brains.

When the Europa League fixtures were announced I saw many a bluenose take aim at the SPFL. You see, the decision to end the season early (which they voted for) has put them at a competitive disadvantage to Leverkusen.

Nevermind the fact they were outclassed and 3-1 flattered them.

Saw one chap claim the title was handed to Celtic because Rangers could have come back. Only for a Tim to remind him what get said after the St Johnstone game: “the league is 100% gone”

  17. Seems like we are a bit short in the central defence. Maybe a loan deal with Newcastle’s Fabian Schar could be hammered out. I think we were interested in him a few seasons ago when he played in Spain?

  18. Lennybhoy @ 1:16 not the same deal as mine. Mine is direct with the club no arrangement fee or interest H H Hebcelt

Presumably that’s why you are allowed to smoke in football stadiums.

  21. Funnily enough Paul it is the “nominated seats” which will give Celtic and others problems if both the Scottish and Westminster governments give the okay for stadium type events. Would depend on the “social distancing” of course, at 2 metres whole rows of seats would have to be left vacant, and in some places pretty vacant. Not to mention a 2m gap between seats in each row. Be lucky to be able to use one in every six seats all told and even then how would one supporter pass another if he need to leave early to beat the er rush. No, we need to go back to the days of the old terraces, but with a nominated standing area for oneself. Yourself alone. It ticks all the boxes.
