Ordinary looking Celtic fail to show

1243

Despite a remarkably solid defensive record, we have lost four and three goals on our two visits to Ibrox this season, although two of yesterday’s goals were lost with a two man deficit.  We were deservedly a goal down before Cha Du-Ri was ordered off and the contest irrevocably skewed.  Several Celtic players looked panicked from the opening minutes and it wasn’t until Kris Commons started to menace the Rangers midfield that we appeared comfortable in possession.

Until then, we looked pretty ordinary.

After a remarkably consistent run of games that ensured this season’s league title is Celtic’s, two big games, which could each have delivered a trophy, have been lost.

The drive to the line which is needed for teams to fulfil their potential is not there yet. It will come. Days like yesterday, months like October, are what team building is all about.

If you need a pick-me-up, enjoy The Celtic Family video above, its’ sure to hit the spot.

Same as yourself mate. And Elbows pushes my buttons too.

But Hate is not what we are about. Tough love in Elbows case is what we should provide. Very tough, size 10 or 11 boot shaped tough love. Before he ends someones career.

The only direction Wallace could run was right side, which he did. Cha was on Wallace’s left hand and had no chance to win it.

I’m sory to say that but I was wrong yesterday.

First for them was obvious scoring opportunity.

Second for them was not off side.

Wanyama now knows how to get stupid red.

No red card for McCullough was big mistake.

I concur completely with Paul’s thoughts.

Except to add that i dont rate Cha yet, in common with all of us, I would prefer to see Neil Lennon as manager of our great club rather than any of you or, indeed, my goodself (not totally convinced of the latter).

Finally, to summarise the MIB’s difficulties in these games, it’s known as institutional bias. We are the black man of bonnie Scotland and there’s not a snot’s chance in the massive pile of mucus that constitutes the SFA hierarchy that this will be discussed as a possibility.

No radio listening for me this week!

BTW, the best laugh of yesterday was when wee hun Tanner tried to explain away the loss of our second goal by suggesting it may have happened only because Bocanegra had been sent off…?

How many players did Celtic have on the pitch when the decisive hun (offside) second and third goals were scored?

Stupid, stupid hun fud! Like all the rest of them and the many uncle toms!

Long live Neil Lennon and his young turks!

Would you agree that, Joe Ledley gets away with being the invisible-man far to often ?

Also, if Charlie Mulgrew is our player of the season then, we really have been on a ‘slow car-crash since Seville’ IMO!

So, our Manager, Neil Lennon, is being issued with a letter of complaint relating to his half-time comments to the referee or other match officials, something I thought he was already punished for. Got until next Tuesday to respond. Until somebody other than Stuart Dougall passes judgement, I will continue to believe Neil Lennon’s account of what came to pass. Now, Neil has lost his cool before, but Scottish referees have also conspired to lie to our Manager in the not to distant past. And they went on strike to defend their right to do so, no sorry, to defend their integrity. Speaking of which how is Jim Traynor’s integrity holding up?

The fact that you chose probably our 2 best players this season to criticise I find quite astonishing.

If you think that then, you probably also belong to the, mis-guided contingent of Celtic fans who hailed Peter Grant as a Legend .

  9. Just been looking at the various replays of the Cha RC on CelticTV. I dont think Wallace was going to get to that ball in any shape to have a shot. It was running away from him at the end of a 40+ yard sprint against Cha (who had gained about a yard on him).

Avoidance is a simplistic psychological ploy just answer the question please.

Would you agree that Mulgrew and Ledley have been 2 of our best, and most consistent, performers this season?

League Cup Final – It was disappointing – but I was respectful to Kilmarnock who had a game plan and probably (with a little help from MiB) deserved it – good luck to them

I have no problem being beaten fair and square

However yesterday – Celtic knew and you and I knew that just one little mistake was going to be punished by MiB – we were never going to get anything there – consequently the team cant play free flowing football – they are on the edge worried about giving the MiB an option

    Cha gave him that option

From that point is was all over – all the rest is if buts and maybee’s

One more point (and don’t kill me for having an opinion) but NL needs to learn to calm down – even when he is right – no man makes progress with officials when he “seems” to be aggressive

We are in a great place – but still a work in progress

  12. From my perspective we’ve seen our team turn up for a cup final and Glasgow derby less motivated than the opposition, why?

Our manager is patently motivated if the half time shenanigans are anything to go by so why is is the team not achieving the same level of commitment?

Have we a team of chokers?

I don’t believe so, I think the team is suffering from the constant tinkering in selection and tactics. To be fair Neil he has had a lot on his plate recently and has recognised both last week and yesterday that his initial formation wasn’t coping and quickly changed them but the change of tactics so soon into both matches has to be disconcerting for the players.

It appeared Neil selected a team and tactics to counter Kenny Shields last week then changed his line up and tactics this week for McCoist’s team but in both matches all we saw was a hesitant team and yesterday there were signs of panic from players who obviously weren’t playing in their comfort zone. I really can’t fathom why Sammi and Chris Commons weren’t given a more prominent role last week in readiness for yesterday’s game. The tinkering is unsettling the players and Neil really has got to select his best formation and tactics and let the other managers worry about trying to cope with our team.

C’mon lets see a settled team finish off the season in style.

We’ve just had twenty match winning run. Where we sliding up the way?

  20. Not sure if this has been brought up, but did anyone else see wee sleekit swally shaking the hands of all the Celtic players in the tunnell? Being the synical fellow that i am, do you think he was doing that hoping that one of our players didn’t shake his hand, and he could use that against us?

Maybe looking into it too much, but i truly detest that disturbing excuse for a man.

  21. Angelfc67@ 17.47

I think you will see that Stokes did not shake the fat slobs hand.

  22. kevjungle – did Celtic and Rangers not vote against the Sky deal? Even if that was not the case, its only by the most bizarre stretch of logic that that vote could be construed as being the same as a vote to parachute NewCo into the SPL.

  23. jude2005 is Neil Lennon \o/ on

They are after our manager AGAIN!!!!!! I hope Celtic can find another Paul Mc Bride to fight Neils corner?

We just need to keep reminding people that when opinion was sought, the media went to dougie, a known liar who brought the game into disrepute, rather than an honorable man who has been vilified and removed from the game for displaying honor and integrity.

Something Mr Thompson said he was investigating I hope he doesnt miss.

  25. Kev jungle

    Where do I start!!!

    Celtic players as media darlings???

    Whit!!!!

The only Celts I’d consider friends of the media are Walker, Nicholas and the rest of that despicable rabble.

I’m using my phone so don’t have the statistics to hand, however, I’d imagine that we’d won approximately 12 consecutive games from Kayal’s injury until Pittodrie, that’s some slide.

At best your post lacks objectivity and foresight, at worst it’s attention seeking at it’s most base level.

But, privately…a new Sky deal for 4 years has been signed by, ALL SPL clubs or, the deal wouldn’t have been concluded! IMO!

To be fair, I agree with a lot of what u say. Celtic have gone on a great won because the league is absolutely useless! In my opinion, this current Celtic team would finish bottom of English Prem and that ain’t a great league. We’ve conceded 7 goals in 2 games at IBROX and they are rubbish! 7 goals in 2 games against the worst rangers team I can remember proves how poor a side we are.

I think Lenny deserves massive credit for motivating the players to on the run they have gone on and at times we played well, swinecastle being 1 game that springs to mind.

WE ARE A VERY, VERY AVERAGE SIDE AND I’m being kind in saying average. ANY1 that knows me on CQN knows my passion for the Hoops but it doesn’t stop me being OBJECTIVE!
