Before he arrived at West Ham as a 22-year-old in the summer of 2019, Albian Ajeti had a steady progression from promising youth at St Gallen to scoring in the Champions League for Basel and leading the line for Switzerland in European Championship qualification. 31 goals from 52 league appearances across his final two seasons in Switzerland is the form that attracts EPL clubs.
We have seen better players than Albian suffer at the wrong club, so there’s every reason to believe West Ham fans have no idea what his genuine talents are (I felt a bit the same about Ismailia Soro until recently), but damage has been done to his repute, as well as his sharpness.
If you wanted to go somewhere in the summer of 2020 to repair your confidence and to enjoy your football again, Celtic Park did not turn out to be a wise choice. Celtic quickly descended into crisis where even idolised Odsonne Edouard found form from previous seasons illusive.
With Odsonne in the final 18 months of his contract and zero chance of him extending, one of the tasks for the remainder of the season should be to repair what’s necessary for Albian and return him to his peak for the summer.
It has been decades since we have had as many games ahead without a genuine chance of winning the league. These games now have a different purpose with preparing the squad for next season a top requirement. Albian should play as many games as possible.

If PL came out and said that referees in Scotland are not fit for purpose he’d redeem himself a little. For those “blinded” that claim he’s still the messiah, scroll by please don’t respond as I’ll just ignore it.

There is certainly a case to be made that the `keeper did touch Ajeti`s heel and our player did seem to make a meal of it but definitely not enough to put our Bhoy on trial.

It is becoming apparent that no matter what celtic would have done the corrupt sfa/refs wouldn’t have let us win the league this year. Two thoughts spring from this. Player last week who was pushed in his back with the Huns Goldsons TWO Hands in the Penalty area, but the REF did NOT give Hibs a Penalty…so therefore THAT is also a clear case of ” Stimulation”…will that Hibs player be Cited ?

This was a player scouted and signed as Scott Brown’s potential successor. Yet was languishing, kicking his heels, to such an extent that we allowed him to return to Africa to get married just when he was most needed. And could still have made a difference.
Soro’s treatment encapsulates everything that’s been wrong with Celtic for several years now. Let’s hope he’s a similar metaphor for how to get it right into the future.

Ajeti is a diver. He had a shocker some time back that was frankly mortifying to see In the Hoops. But, by the letter of the law, the other night he was touched (albeit with the force of a butterfly’s wing) and it was a penalty.
Our time to fix the corruption throughout Scottish football did come. It’s gone. It was when we on top. It was a unique opportunity. It won’t be repeated.
Instead, our custodians chose to prioritise the rehabilitation of the Old Firm.
Consequently, we’ll have to suck it up for a very long and foreseeable future.

Charging Ajeti isn’t just laughable in itself, as there was contact, its an attempt to stifle his career and stunt his progress in Scotland. Our board are so spineless that he will have to suck up a 2 game ban.
