Respect deserved

We’ve seen a few difficult games against Hamilton Accies in recent years, including what proved to be a costly draw after being denied a late winner at New Douglas Park, but we’ve never met them in this form.

Hamilton have the longest unbeaten run in Scotland.  They lost their opening league game of the season, at home to Inverness, but have won seven and drawn two of their subsequent nine games.  Their 0-4 win away to Motherwell last week was a display of sharp, organised football – and remember, Motherwell took at point at Celtic Park the previous weekend.

Alex Neil will have no intentions of leaving pointless tomorrow.  This is the game he and his players will have been waiting for since the fixtures were announced four months ago.  Their four SPLF away games: wins at St Mirren, Partick and Motherwell, and a draw at Tannadice, has been preparation for Celtic Park.

If Celtic have a Europa League hangover, Accies will boss them.  Forget the lowly status of the club, respect is needed if we are the get the desired result and performance required.

I’m running the Great Scottish Run in aid of Celtic Foundation tomorrow morning, which presents a, erm, personal hygiene challenge for the game.  It’ll be a full can of deodorant day.  If you have a £1 or two for the fundraising, you can help here.

All good mate. There’s always a chance of a visit to Houston in our game and I’ll be in touch if it happens.

Be great to see ye down this neck of the woods! Mibees get a few other NATIMS together for a wee “social” as RWE would call it !

The costly draw you refer to at Douglas Park was the result of some of the worst Mibbery you will ever see. A clear offside at their goal and a stonewall penalty for us not given, if I remember correctly.

Glad of the correction. Being assaulted with a wind instrument isn’t pleasant. I know from personal experience.

    The mind boggles -:))

Sorry for the delay in responding but your reference brought it all back, the whole trauma. I won’t go into the details but I can tell you that I was really brassed off.

    Indeed it was.

Worked with them both in their day jobs before running a club crossed their minds.

AM really was a nice fella.

R McD was a quantity surveyor. Say no more.

Hoping for some good news from RWE soon and some photies wi some cute looking kids and a flag.

Re Angola, obviously a huge country. Unfortunate you were in different areas.

  11. Celtic have an opportunity tomorrow to lay down a marker… Make a statement.

Something they haven’t done yet this season apart from the Dundee Utd game.

If we can record a convincing win versus Hamilton, i do believe people will start to view things in a more positive light. It will go some way to silencing the doubters.

  12. Any charitable Hoops around when the blue pounds don’t land in the employees bank accounts end October?

This is an appeal on behalf of ‘The Rangers’ F.C. Can you spare £2.00 per month to help a poor ‘The Rangers’ player buy food and clothing for himself and his family. Yes for only £2.00 You can feel and act superior to those poor demented huns in our midst. Just send your donation to THE HELP A HUN ASSOCIATION. or HAHA as its known.

Ian McCall…’Ally is a wonderful human being’.

The same sleekit Ally who wound up the hate mob enough to send death threats to Kircaldy?

Who, along with NL helped to get the OB Bill pushed through?

Who conducted the Sash at the Sevco end of CP despite Police warning him to stop it?

Who made news a few years ago for ‘playing away’?

    Dearie me.

    Vegas next year?

Not sure yet Richie. Done Vegas couple times… gets old very quickly Still lots of fun with The Bhoys there, but for me NOLA will be hard to beat. You up for Vegas?

  15. HAHA is a great acronym for a Hun Charity such as Help A Hun Association.

Favourite acronym I heard was for Oban Youth Association for Hemarrhoids…..

    More often referred to as……

  16. SPL games today ,I’m going for 3 draws for a wee interest.

Watched highlights of the Accies game last week they have two ball winning midfielders who press and pass forward when they get the ball.

    Win the midfield CSC

Did I read summat suggesting Masty ain’t his usual self?

    Hope not,of course.

Give him my best, regardless. And TD,natch. Won’t make The Brazen this time. Next time though. And I’ll plan it a tad better!

  20. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Ian McCall has obviously forgotten about Sally blindsiding Mark Fulton in Souness’ first game v Hibs. After sleekit being sleekit, he scarpered while the melee after Souness had studded George McLuskey continued.

It’s on you tube but I can’t do the linky thing.

  21. Ger57

Totally agree with all you wrote. The modern player has to be fit. The game is now much quicker and most players have to be real athletes to perform at their best. Those past greats you named wouldn’t make it through the reserves nowadays…….Paddy McCourt, for example, real talent but not fit enough for the modern (and boring) game.

  22. Can’t understand the diet fuss. Top athletes across the globe know that diet affects performance. Boxers have been aware of this since the 1900s. Why should Neanderthal Footballers give opponents an advantage because they are addicted to burgers and sambucca?

The junk food primitives are always going to be losers.

  23. Dallas Dallas

Spoke to Big Mark Fulton after the game you reference .

Big Mark told me that the camera didn’t show it all.

He landed the sleekit yin a belter!

Ps I fancy us for 5 tomorrow.

The wee Accies will have no answer to Ronnies Rockets!

  24. Just back to my hotel in Hamburg after being at the St Pauli game, aboulutly fantastic, if you ever get the chance to visit Hamburg make sure Pauli are at home.

This was just a league game, the second league, sold out and 20 minutes after the end the stadium was still full as Pauli did a lap of honour stopping to salute each of the four stands, the Union team also went to the away section at the end, shaking hands through the fence with their travelling support.

The Germans really know how to do football.

Pauli beat Union Berlin 3-0 incidentally.

Now catch up with the rest of the guys from Cologne and a Saturday night out in Hamburg.
