Result achieved for Celtic but Danny Lennon will see promise for Saturday

903

It’s difficult to analyse Celtic’s performance last night.  For much of the game the players were clearly enjoying themselves and should have been rewarded with more goals, but Dunfermline were incredibly porous in central midfield.  Ki and Commons were able to stage a passing master-class which was pleasing on the eye.

The fact that the deluge of goals didn’t come is not particularly concerning.  Celtic don’t make a habit of profligacy in front of goals, making chances is more of a problem, so it would be a mistake to read too much into one game.

While Dunfermline were out of the contest for most of the evening they also retained two strikers, something we seldom see from SPL visitors at Celtic Park, so that fact that they were able to construct an attempt at goal five minutes from time was not surprising.

Celtic got what they needed from the game but Danny Lennon, who brings St Mirren to Celtic Park on Saturday, will also have seen enough to let him form a decent game-plan, especially if Celtic play a 4-4-2 with two wingers, as they finished the game yesterday.

Big hopes on Ryan Jack among AFC coaches…

I know Willie Miller … He’s had a hard shift both at AFC ( effectively demoted) .. He’s head of youth in all but name. He has also had a few businesses go down the drain.. So I think it’s wearing him out. He used to be fireproof with the fans so was taken in to the tent to stop him p1551ng in from outside…when he bulleted The 2 jimmys he burnt the bridge with the fans I suspect.

There’s rarely a player who catches the eye consistently these days at Pittodrie.. In fact I spent most of last Saturday watching the Motherwell fans getting joyed by a very heavy handed Grampian police force…

Milsom and Pawlett have class and fraser Fyvie a stone lighter might be a player. .

The real clash this weekend is Culter juniors v Partick.. The Culter coach isinmy 5s league team… Saturday he reached the pinnacle of his football career with the Scottish cup 1-1 with Partick… On Wednesday he hit the depths as we got beat 7-6 by bottom of the league in our 5s… Scottish fitba !!!!

  6. My main points are (with supporting info.);

Churches, supporters, civil liberties, opposition parties,& leading academics on the subject are against the bill.

What is the purpose of the bill? What problem does it seek to address?

Systematic and abject failure to implement existing legislation – due to numbers offending!!!

total lack of clarity in bill

Being offended or offending someone is subjective

Which of these is illegal (& Why), BOTOB, Flower of Scotland, Star spangled banner, God Save the Queen, Rule Britannia, Derry’s Walls ?

13% of offences in past year at football stadiums!

They seek to address only one of the symptoms of sectarianism in Scotland, not the cause. Why do they not address other areas – marches for instance?

They destroyed the data which would enable them to identify the real problem.

The bill itself is offensive, the name of it is offensive, it is discriminatory in its description, and from evidence so far is discriminatory in who it is intended to punish.

Irrespective of your political views, nationalism is not a crime, pride in national identity or pride in ethnic national roots is not a crime, if they single out songs or chants which are about this pride for one particular national identity, they better consider doing it for all.

This legislation is just so wrong on so many levels.

Any pointers before my meeting, appreciated.

I think football a lot to do with luck after you reach a certain standard…even to a degree when you are young…

I run probably 2nd or 3rd best boys team in Grampian Area ( u 10s).. So we play better teams I the A league. Celtic scout comes to watch a couple of kids in the opposing team. My centre forward is not well so I fire one of my better midfielders up front he has the game of his life scoring 7 in a7-6 win. Celtic scout forgets about the boys he came to see and gets my wee fella hooked up with Celtic Boys..

Same I think with a lot of decent pros..some are made to look better in good teams and some go unoticed in poor teams… I actually think Celtic have a few average players being carried by the better players..

  24. Religiously Aggravated offending Stats Question

288 of 694 victims were Police

400 of 694 were derogatory towards RC

How many of the 288 offences against police were also derogatory towards RC. Answering this will let us know out of the 406 offences to general public, how many were derogatory towards RC and IMO provide a better picture of the actual problem.

This would be a very interesting stat if avaliable. I am going to send an FOI request for this, but if anyone is aware if that stat has been provided.

The attiudes of those complicit in the continued denial, yet agenda pushers of,anti-Irish/catholic behaviour in this dank land will never alter their true feelings. The rhetoric will continue alongside the window dressing and hollow promises. The very fact this is still a problem at all in 2011 shows there is no real will to rid it from society from the movers and shakers in the corridors of power. When hate is the motivating factor in someone’s persona it distorts their mindset, therefore making rational, balanced decisions almost impossible.Until the hate is removed the discrimination and denial of it,and it’s true roots, will continue. It will just wear a different mask.

The thing is,the most effective way of getting under their skin is for Celtic to be successful. The league is far from over and with a united team, management and support we can get it back from the grubby hands of the undesirables. And stick it to all their odious backers.

  27. BJMAC those would indeed prove to be some interesting figures if you could get them. I’ve stayed off here for a the last couple of weeks due to some of the flack thats been thrown around at the Polis, as I find it hard to bite my tongue and it would only end in me being called a hun by the keyboard militants, granted the flack being directed towards the senior officers would appear to be well warranted, some of the conspiracy theorists on here would have you believe that all of Strathclydes finest are out to get us and members of a giant masonic conspiracy, which I know from experience just isn’t the case are there are more tims within the polis than you’d think.

If those figures came back showing that the police had indeed locked up a majority of persons for anti RC offences would it show that they are not as bad as some on here would make you think.
