Negotiations for Albian Ajeti have gone on for weeks but as you and I have said often enough, it is important to get your first choice. Too often we end up with a player from well down the list, who did not do enough to overwhelmingly convince anyone. That is not the case with Ablian.
The player was scouted for a move last year before his ill-fated time in London. He is known to the manager, who will have sounded out Mohamed Elyounoussi for an assurance on things that are not evident from the stands.
Having played over 170 games, he is also more experienced than many we have signed over the last decade. This is why we missed out on him a year ago, he was caught on the EPL radars and West Ham made what was for them a cheap acquisition.
These factors make Albian’s prospect of succeeding at Celtic higher than most recruits. It is a pity he will not have some game time this weekend; let’s hope he is fit for this month’s challenges.

Grauniad CSC?

Morning all.
Maybe if it was signed for an undisclosed sum rather than £5m it might have attracted more headlines from the MSM.
On the face of it 2 good signings so far.
Maybe the challenges of the past week might lead to something positive if we raise the stakes with a decent CB as well.
38 games is a long season and it seems they are already thinking they have won it ( see FF for the past few days ) for me it is about staying the course and distance.
It will be interesting of day Villa or WBA or Wolves have or even Newcastle a slow start to the EPL. Maybe SG has done enough to get a lucrative move closer to home in these tough times. That would also throw a spanner in the works.
Welcome to Celtic Albian I wish you every success our new No. 10 for 10.
Keep the Faith!
Hail Hail!

bye-bye-Mbomboclotty, that remains to be seen.
He is reportedly being offered a French Second Division
Club, on a Season long Loan, with the option to buy, @
the end of this Season, for 2.3 Million.
Mbomboclotty, could be like another Jack Hendry, with
no Club interested, in acquiring his services.
In other words, another useless signing. That is why,
we have to get these so called signings spot on,
Instead of waisting money, like we have done in the
past. It’s a case of dotting the ‘I’s’ & crossing the ‘T’s.
A baby-eating Centre-half next please plus a Maldini-esque left back…..

Morning all, a tough trip to Kilmarnock later to play on that plastic pitch. Changed days since Jock led the team out in front of over 30,000 for a cup tie on a muddy pitch.

I want Gerrard to stay and see our ten. Then he can take his seat in the BT studio or in the dug out in the English lower leagues.
Hopefully a CB in before the end of the month, two good league wins and through to Q3 of CL. That’s the aim now.
We do that and we’ve steadied the ship and looking good.
retrospektive punishment???
Oh aye……………….

That picture, looks like it was taken when Jock was Manager there back in the
60’s an ‘Ex’ Pars player Mr Melrose said when Jock became Manager there
the education about Football began.
Also Mr Melrose mentioned the Pars exploits in Europe when they knocked
out Everton in a previous round only to be paired with Velencia in the next
round which the lost over in Spain 4 – 0. In the return leg @ East End Park.
Jock said if they get an early goa,l then perhaps might be able to turn around
the deficit, & also the Spanish do not like playing footy in baltic conditions,
which it was that night, in the minus mode.
Well, the Pars scored that early in the return leg, that even the TV Cameras
missed the goal, & the Pars went on to win that match 6 -2.
In those days back in the 1960’s, there was no ‘On The Away Goals Rule’
So there had to be a replay to decide the outcome which Velencia won.
That’s my recollection, of Jock’s good times in Dunfermline. he was a
Legend there as well, that is for sure.

Jocky Wilson’s wee brother wins Raith Rovers u11’s Player of the Year & recieves a Bukta goody bag from big Jock.
There is only one Albian Ajeti, he puts the ball in the netty.
Going along, & singing a song, walking in the Ajeti wonderland.
Or for the older generation out there, who remembers the 1950’s.
A wee bit before my time, I was born in the late 1950’s, anyway
to the old Dean Martin song “That’s Amore/Love’
When the ball hits the Net, with the speed of a Jet, that’s the

Hand of God – not to worry, I’ll just need to enjoy a few wines here instead.
I took advantage of the half price eat out on Tuesday at the Italian Caffe in the Merchant City. 3 good sized, amazing tasting tapas for £7. I recommend it.
Oh Goodness!

Jocky on the Hockey, are you sure about that, in other words, is that correct?
I remember years ago, back in the 1980’s if my memory serves me well.
Jocky Wilson, was playing darts, in a tournament been screened on the TV.
& some idiot in the crowd was heckling him, & he turned around & said to
the prat, yeah, we here is the darts, you come up here, & show us what you
can do. Well, that soon shut that idiot up.
Also, was Jocky Wilson, not one of the first dart players live on TV, to do a
9 Dart Check Out? (501 too Game Done)
I’ve been critical of what I perceived to be a turgid signing process over the years.
However, very pleased with recent activity.
Well done to all involved in getting this signing over the line.

Big Packie Bonnar, was Jock’s last signing with us.
The Jock Stein photo is from 1979:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fifetoday.co.uk/retro/celtic-legend-jock-stein-kirkcaldy-1979-983433%3famp
So Saint Stivs posted old photograph, was taken around the mid seventies then.
Although, what I posted up above was true about Big Jock when he was there
Manager, so obviously he had a liking for Dunfermline, fond memories indeed.
Ziggydoc1, 1979 well done, that was good research indeed.
Perhaps, you should help our Club, in trying to bring in
good acquisitions, in the playing side of things?
Saint Stivs, & the wee boy is Jocky Wilson’s young Brother. Aye right, so you are
a comedian on the side, Saint Stivs, yes?
P67 — fighting talk given the £5mill plus we seemed to have spent recently on “projects”.
Hopefully AA does the business — just a case that VB and PK give the impression of being agent friendly purchases.
Hopefully we start to get value for money out of our last two purchases.
Finally — RBL showing what a growth agenda can lead to.
Paul 67,
All I want at the moment is signing players who can go straight into the team.
Hopefully Albian Ajeti fits that requirement.
HH.
A CH and LB that will do me.
right, I’m away oot, to get oot of my senses, in the Merchant City, near the Trongate.
I luv that old Demon’s brew, in how it realy screws up ones memory & brain.
Then I think I will head along the Street, heading up from the Trongate, on the right
hand side, is a wee Indian Restaurant, which looks runned down inside, however the
food is good in there, & I will order a meal, then throw up all over the place, & blame
it on the Chef, na wait a minute, I will blame it on the gas in the glass, na too much
alcoholic poision. Then I will head up to Arta, & then be denied access by their security.
& then spend the night in a cold cell, & wake up the next day, with a headache from
Hell, & say to myself, WTF was that all about.

I would guess Coronavirus is gonna lead to lots of games being called off this season, it was celtic’s turn in August and now it’s a massive advantage to other teams perhaps other teams will suffer in September or october etc. Truth is there are 38 games to be played in the league, barring another shutdown we all play the same games. I would guess at least 75% of games will need to be played to determine the outcome.
It’s a case of prioritising games and using the squad.
Centreback and leftback

Yeah, being a complete twat.
I too am pleased with the signing of Ajeti. It looks like two up front will be the formation for the season.
This of course means three at the back and therefore makes the need for a ball-winning centre-back & an experienced left-back, all the more acute, in fact I would say a necessity.
Convinced that Griffiths is ‘toast’ – with Sturgeon’s Damoclean sward hanging over our head, Leigh is cannon of the much too loose variety – he must be shifted off the books as soon as possible. Imagine a future headline “Celtic player in Covid breach” – almost all of us would picture it to be Griffiths.
I can’t make predictions about anything this season, there are just too many variables to factor in, and too many potential pitfalls lying in wait. I am neither optimistic, nor, pessimistic – mind you I will be surprised if the season gets past Christmas. That is why our undeserved political punishment may yet be the biggest factor in our quest for 10iar

We’ve certainly wasted a shit load of money over the years buying players that aren’t good enough and don’t even feature. I know it’s different times to years ago, with recruitment from around the world, but I wouldn’t be spending big money without seeing the player for myself. To use the quote from Peter Lawwell about kissing frogs, I think we’ve kissed far too many. Pain in the arse, with no football to look forward to tomorrow. Roll on Tuesday. I thought Ajeti really came across well in his interview and seemed a decent character.
