I’d hopes Dedryck Boyata would bask in the reflective glory of being part of a fancied Belgium squad at the forthcoming Euros. It would enhance is reputation and perceived value, but alas, his injury has ruled him out, and will likely mean he’ll miss Champions League qualifiers, so he’s on the payroll and in the stand for at least a portion of next season.
News that Colin Kazim-Richards will travel to Brazil to discuss a move there will help Brendan Rodger’s attempts to bring the squad size down to a more reasonable level, as Carlton Cole’s pay-as-you-play arrangement will formally become a don’t-pay-as-you’re-not-playing further clears the decks. This leaves only, Leigh Griffiths and returning strikers Anthony Stokes and Stefan Scepovic, who will, at most, be a bit-part players.
Getting it right with the next striker to sign is important after so many misfires.
We’re finally seeing some movement on Res 12 issues. The advert will first appear in the principle business newspaper in Nyon, where Uefa have their headquarters. Will update you as and when. We’re going to run the UK ad after the Swiss story, so nothing here tomorrow.
Oh, and there was no legal action or threats thereof last night. We had a tactical rethink and pulled a related article, nothing more.

Is the ad running in Guardian tomorrow?

Reduction in squad size?
Cole and Richards first.
Or is it just a rumor?
Suspicious Minds CSC
Why would we concern ourselves with Carlton Cole if he is on a pay as you play deal as has been said on CQN just dont play him and he costs us nothing. H.H.
f Cole is costing us nothing, we’re certainly getting our money’s worth out of him-))

HAVING BEEN TOLD PREVIOUSLY THAT THE GUARDIAN ADVERT IS TO BE RUN TO COINCIDE WITH THE NYON ADVERT THE ABOVE STATEMENT IS CONFUSING.
PLEASE CLARIFY WHEN THE GUARDIAN ADVERT WILL BE RUN AND IS THE OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM CELTIC TO BE AIRED TOMORROW AS ALSO STATED BEFORE.
Who at Celtic thought that the bold Stefan was a striker of note? He has scored 65 goals in 202 appearances and if you take away the 23 goals in 41 games for Sporting Gijon, the season before he joined us that leaves 42 goals in 161 games.
As has been said before it is Celtic’s scouts that need to be released FIRST.

“if you take away the 23 goals in 41 games for Sporting Gijon”
Pog,
And on the other hand if you take away all his other goals and games, and only refer to the ones immediately prior to joining us it give him a record of 23 in 41.
Tidy stats

‘CARLTON COLE has revealed he begged Ronny Deila to take him back out of the Celtic side as soon as he was in it – because he feared making a fool of himself.
The striker finally made his first start for the club last Sunday at Stranraer, four months after arriving and 11 weeks on from putting pen to paper on a lucrative deal until the end of next season.’

Pog……
Would have thought the 23/41 stat would be good encouragement for a player of his age and development….

Carlton Cole has resigned because he’s refused to be a member of any club that would have him as a striker

Well done guys and in French and German too …why not Italian and Romainisch too :-)

Hoping those UEFA guys in Nyon remember to pick up their usual newspaper in the morning.

Agreed – also 65 in 202 is ~1 in 3.
Not bad for a young player.
We’ve had far worse…

Aye tidy stats but as they say there’s lies, damned lies and statistics.
There was nothing in his previous history to indicate he was a stiker!
Here’s a stat, lol:
Club Brugge
In July 2010 Šćepović joined Belgian club Club Brugge.[4] After suffering a goal drought in the first half of the season, he was loaned to Kortrijk in January 2011.[5] Belgian media also described that he was most remembered in Brugge for accidentally locking himself in a bathroom in Affligem hours before a friendly.[6]
I wonder if this has something to do with the Herald nosing around re-Res12.

Fabulous player / fabulous ability / fabulous vision and a total headcase..
A man who when asked if it was true that he had been dropped by Real Madrid because he was overweight – replied –
“Yes – those Spanish ##### never appreciated that I have huge heavy balls “
The funniest thing about the Club Brugge statement was the ‘goal drought’ comment as in his previous 47 games before joining CB he had only scored 6 career goals in 47 games – not so tidy stats.

And here’s a view from the stands in real time.
On the few occasions the guy got in the pitch for us you could the clever runs and angles he was looking to make in search of the ball that never came from our all too pedestrian supply chain.

To be fair, he was barely 20 when he joined Club Brugge, and what chance does he have when detractors do things like wipe a significant goal haul to suit their argument ;)
65 in 202 may not sound great(to some) but did you know a young Alan Shearer averaged 1 in 5 for Southampton before joining Blackburn and going on to become one of the most prolific the game has seen?
HH
JAMESGANG on 31ST MAY 2016 2:47 PM
Clever runs are only clever if you are on the same wavelength as your team. He had one really successful season with Sporting Gijon, full stop. I won’t even mention the fact that he didn’t want to sign for us – oh I just did. Nothing more than a panic buy.
I might not be in the stands but I watch every single Celtic game live whether it is competitive or not.
Šćepović is not the answer. if he is I dread to think what the question was.
“There was nothing in his previous history to indicate he was a stiker!”
Pog,
Correct.
There was nothing prior to turning 20 to write home about.
But his more recent record is something to possibly be interested in.

Loath though I am to criticise, it does feel a bit childish now.
Cryptic posts. Removing said cryptic posts. Hinting at adverts being moved.
At first I though it was funny, as if WC was a fifth member of the Stone Roses and I would wake up one morning to newsagents across Lanarkshire with multiple pictures of Campbell Ogilvie’s head on a spike, plastered across their shop windows…..
Now, I’m almost past caring….
Considering that The Guardian Daily newspaper cost £2 it is only good grace that the question being asked is answered!
Is the article running in The Guardian Newspaper tomorrow or is it not?
