He is there, as we all know, because he is pliable and will do the board’s bidding without question.

No need for an annual appraisal – he has not one ounce of power, end of.

  2. What a sorry mess we are in and it was all so predictable.

We always opt for the cheap, just do enough option and that was exemplified by the decision to hire Neil in the showers (after a woeful run of performances), without considering any other candidates.

A manager whose last appointments had been Bolton and Hibs (appointed when in the lower leagues).

A downsizing of himalayan proportions from a top manager in BR.

Still, it suited our CEO as Neil had zero leverage; he was delighted to have a job that, solely on the merits, he was undeserving of. PL can control Neil in a way that he could (and would never) control BR.

So here we are, in the process of self immolisat

  3. *so here we are, in the process of self-immolation on the great pyre of venality erected by our master of the universe, the Teflon don, the most expenses employee in the history of Celtic, the great PL.

‘ I don’t know what’s been going on behind the scenes. Whether Peter Lawwell has seen enough with what’s going on in the training ground to trust him’

That made me laugh. Darkly, very darkly.

The thought of PL in his Adidas replica kit, watching the drills at lennoxtown….and casting his eye (for a moneyball player) over proceedings!

It does not auger well for the acquisition of any future decent manager.

Personally I don’t want an ex Celt or even a Tim that knows all about Glasgow’s history.

Give me a modern, tactically aware, manager with a good coaching team.

As long as Lawwell is in charge I won’t hold my breath.

100%. Wim Jansen came in not knowing much about Glasgow and look what he achieved.

The issue is that would any decent manager worth his salt want to work under the restrictions placed on them by the board?

Just had a nice breakfast of bacon, egg, black pudding, and fried bread.

Ready to face anything so I am.

    Has anyone resigned yet?

Agree with your post but there some on here that think these kind of coaches are beneath us.

It’s been said on here we’re too good for Moyes; too good for Clarke, too good for Dyche; too good for Howe…

Now I’m not saying for one minute these are grade A elite managers and I’m not even saying that any of these would be guaranteed success but they are all a big step up from what we have right now – a former Hibs and Bolton manager with a ragbag coaching team that according to some, wasn’t even his choice. The performances and results shouldn’t be surprising and when Lennon said he can turn it around, he’s given no indication of how rather than just hoping that one week it just “clicks”.

  9. Totally agree that we need a modern outsider.

Never more so than now, where self isolation and lack of grounds near-completely removes the ‘Glasgow factor’ as having an influence.

It’s a squad of highly skilled, highly paid, apparently unmotivated, under coached mainly foreign mercenaries (and I’m fine with that last bit)

My misses and me are also on a diet.

    She is at work.

All evidence of a fry up has been disposed of and I have lit some scented candles around the house, plus opened all the windows.

I am sitting here wi’ 2 big jumpers on as house is freezing.

    But…………………it was worth it! ;-)

    Love you too mate!

  11. For all those thinking we performed well last night.

Expected goals tally was 3.33 to 0.83 in their favour.

Neil’s after match comments show he is completely unable to analyse the result and, consequently, rectify issues.

Is your Christmas Nativity Scene Covid Safe?

    Some Health and Safety Guidance

The Corona-Virus pandemic has had a huge impact on the way we conduct our lives, with many new rules and restrictions governing our health and safety. Although we are not yet within the Advent season it is good to make preparations for the Christmas Crib. A thorough risk assessment is essential to ensure your crib is COVID-secure. Here is some guidance:

It is acknowledged that the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph form a family bubble and therefore can be placed together.

Shepherds are permitted provided they are not more than 70 years old or suffering from an underlying medical condition or in the shielding category.

A maximum of 4 shepherds only are permitted in the Crib.

Shepherds must wear face-masks (unless exempt) and strictly observe social distancing rules (2 meters or 1m+ with mitigation).

The ox and ass need a Declaration of Non-Contamination Certificate which can be obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

The Three Wise Men, since they come from a non Shengen Area, will be subject to a 14-day quarantine, although this may be reduced to 5 with a negative test.

The straw, moss, palm branches and other decorations must be sanitised, with hands washed for 20 seconds after handling.

Angels flying over the crib are now forbidden, owing to aerosol effect produced by the fluffing of their wings.

The Inn, along with other businesses in the hospitality sector, is closed till further notice.

For 2020 only, a Pontius Pilate figure should be added to the Nativity Scene to explain to authorised participants the protocols for the washing and sanitisation of hands.

Neil’s after match comments show he is completely unable to analyse the result and, consequently, rectify issues.

That’s why the same mistakes are being made by him time and time again.

  14. Posted a couple of times a while ago, it was each time after a game had just finished, the first time was after Leigh scored a late winner for us, I think it was Ross C, might’ve been Kilmarnock, Brendan was in charge at the time, and I answered some question’s about me being a h•• I’m definitely not. HH

Hopefully we get over our not so good spell soon.

I don’t know where we’ve went wrong, to me it’s as if Neil isn’t allowed to drop who he wants, it doesn’t make sense, politics in the board room, and dressing room, if it is that, they have to stop crossing wires. HH

I heard you on Radio Scotland news this morning, I have to disagree that NL is the man the board will be backing with more money in January, or, that tea leaves are required, what we can all see with our own eyes his NL’s time is up it is up and for his coaching staff as we look totally amateur in our approach and time is up for Lawwell and the syncophants on that board, Celts for Change 2 is coming and it is needed.

The fans have ran this club into the ground.

Their appalling lack of ambition is a disgrace.

Hi, is there a link to hear Paul67, haven’t heard him for a long time, thanks. HH

  19. The Huddle…. Goalkeeper away down our list of priorities???…. Yer kidding aren’t you?…. Start at the back… Both goalies are very very average

Dont know mate it was on Good Morning Scotland about 8.20 this morning, maybe get it on iplayer.

  21. Dessybhoy

The rate we’re going with Neil January will be too late – I don’t expect them to drop many points by the end of the season.

  22. Howe , dyche . Moyes etc etc dear god are we not in a bad enough mess . We need 2 things urgently a coach with a pedigree and European cv and lawell to keep away from football matters . Just think if he had been at the helm in 1965 big jock wouldn’t have taKen the job . If we lost BR. Because of his interference then he should be hunted . Also aside our absent landlord is maybe getting his way ,after his fullsome praise for them across the city , how many of the claimed 53000 season ticket holders who renewed and did so with no guarantee of seeing a game wants to hear crap like that . Wee note to Desmond this is our club NOT Your plaything .

  23. onenightinlisbon on

Board hoping we win all our domestic games and then beat Sevco at Ibrox.

    If we don’t, what’s plan B Pedro?

  24. DESSYBHOY on 27TH NOVEMBER 2020 10:53 AM

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Cheers amigo, I’ll check it out later, thanks. HH

  25. Back him with more money?

Duffy is rumoured to be going back in January, his £4.5m goalkeeper is sitting on the bench and it pains me to say it but Roofe is looking far better value than Ajeti.

What does Hammond do by the way?

  26. ONENIGHTINLISBON on 27TH NOVEMBER 2020 10:57 AM

I have a horrid feeling we’ll win all our games before Sevco, Lennon will be kept in a job and the REAL humiliation is yet to come. Sevco fans will be praying Lennon is still in charge for our trip to Ibrox and that says it all.

Too late by then to make any meaningful change if this scenario transpires..

But to be honest, does anyone on here actually think if Lennon goes the board will make a good appointment?

  28. onenightinlisbon on

if Lennon walked today what would the board do?

Appoint John Kennedy until the end of the season.

Would this make us any better?

Would the players up their game for him?

How many would want to leave in january?

Would he be given money to spend?

Not suggesting for a minute that lennon should stay but tis would be out of the frying pan…..

  29. Onenightinlisbon

There should be a plan for NFL going, and not an interim cover – if there isn’t one, that is inexcusable given our resources I think

  30. ONENIGHTINLISBON on 27TH NOVEMBER 2020 11:05 AM

That wouldn’t be an ideal scenario but any change is still a change – a change of voice, a change of approach, a change of line up and/or formation.

Doing nothing simply isn’t an option.

If we change, we might lose the league. If we do nothing, we’ll certainly lose the league – probably by February.

  31. Bhoy From The Boyne on

In a gist, Paul67 said on radio Scotland:

    1) He doesn’t think last nights result / performance is very different from previous.

    2) He half expected NL to go after Hibs game.

    3) He understood the board had planned to back NL with more money in January.

    4) He expects results to get worse before they get better although its not above Celtic to win every game up to Jan 2nd.

    5) 10 is not gone yet but management change is not necessary in the waters.
