Tantric Tuesday

908

After yesterday’s action-packed fast moving day in the political world that is Scottish football today has been Tantric Tuesday as Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps, took their time and examined all areas in consultations with players over redundancies.  Gregg Wylde and Mervan Celik left the club early afternoon as the first hard consequences of years of abundant excesses manifested, leaving Duff and Phelps joint administrators locked in talks with the rest of the players.  No one can accuse them of not working for their £600 per hour per head.

I would like to be the first to congratulate Aberdeen on winning the treble in season 1992-93. An outstanding achievement.

Spiers doing his best but he doesn’t realise that if a company goes bust, it’s bust!!!!!!

  3. I pay for 3 season books that won’t be getting renewed if Rangers or NewCo are in the SPL.

As I said before, I’d rather play in the SFL than assist either them or any team that voted them in with my hard earned money.

And they can shove their “TV deal” along with my subscription to SKY and ESPN (which is already on a shoogly peg).

That is the crux of this whole scenario, upon how they’re treated upon liquidation. As soon as the huns go into liquidation, there is automatically no relegation that season. As I understand the rules of the SPL.

There is a number of challenges, not least whose place huns newco would take on the ridiculous event of a newco being voted straight into the SPL.

What if there is 2 Newco’s or 3, it is a total mess, Doncaster was a disgrace on Radio Scotland, however wee chic’s take on it was based on what he wanted to here. They will all continue to push for what WILL be the end of Scottish football, allowing the illegitimate child of a cheating club back into the SPL.

Jeez, getting sick of this build up to Arsenal v Milan. Its going to be the greatest come back in modern football history. Hope Milan score in the first few minutes and shut them up.

  9. A £4.5 million deal took him to Rangers in May 1998, but Arthur Numan’s time in Scotland was then blighted by injuries that forced him to sit out many games.

He helped the team to considerable league success as well as the treble in his penultimate season at Rangers.

However, at the end of the 2002–03 season, he and the club could not agree a new contract so he left at the end of that season. He stated that he was willing to accept a pay-cut offer but felt that his club wanted too large a drop in wages. He soon announced his retirement.

Numan was a regular pundit on Scotsport SPL, Scottish and Grampian TV’s round-up of Scottish Premier League action and stayed in Hamilton, Scotland post retirement. He was also appointed treasurer of the Rangers Charity Trust.

bjmac I agree with everything you say, however there is a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach which tells me the establishment will find a way to get the huns back into the SPL. The bigger question for me is what do Celtic and as a consequence I do in response

I’m definitely in the ‘no to Newhun in SPL’ camp, however, does anyone genuinely believe that come next season there won’t be a rANGERs of some description playing in the Scottish top division? This is Scotland we’re talking about here.As long as we exist ‘the peepil’ will need, and demand,a team to challenge us.Where would all their hate be spent otherwise?I posted last night, their punishment will amount to no more than embarrassment and wristslapping. They will slither their way out of this i fear, like the snakes they are.Even their administration process is dodgy. They are as bent as an arab’s sword and will find overcoming the cheating, swindling etc. easy as they have no sense of responsibility, only a delusional sense of superiority and entitlement.

  17. Rangers have a number of players whose contracts expire in the summer. These players have no sell on value. Furthermore, any player with 1 year on their contract remaining come the summer can sign a pre-contract with another club and will have no sell on value.

Therefore, surely these players should all have their contracts cancelled? There is absolutely no value to Rangers to keep them – other than possibly slightly higher ticket sales as ‘fans’ turn up to see Aluko and McCulloch. Every week these guys get paid is draining their finances further.

Believe it or not, I find myself in agreement with you!!!

There is a certain class and elegance I think we are allowed to demand for the custodians and representatives on the pitch of our club.

That man has zero class. He is a win at all costs type of a.hole.

Again, we have a primary love for our club which is unsurpassed by the other mob, who exist to hate us primarily.

I have to say – and this may be controversial but I have never found Steve Davis to be a ‘hun’ in the ‘hun’ sense of the word.

I actually like the guy and think he is a very good player.

Im not saying we should try to sign him, Im fairly certain he wouldnt even entertain it and I am fine with that, however he is the kind of hun I wouldnt mind in a hoops top.

  19. Not reaaly bothered where Rangers are in the SPL next season or not as I am a Celtic first and last.

Out of the whole scandal I want:

    1. Rangers out of Europe (almost secured)

    2. Rangers stripped of titles

    3. Murray stripped of Knighthood.

For me SPL will have no choice but to expel Rangers if they have cheated for any period of time but relegation will only be temporary and they would comeback stronger so it.

The stigma of losing titles and being banned from Europe is something entirely different and a more fitting punishment.

RE Doncasters statement– I interpreted the SPL rules as saying the members (i.e. club reps) got their say before the board. Is “ultra vires” what they call that then?

    read for yourself

    —–

    From SPL rules article 14

    If:-

    (i) a Member shall cease to be entitled to hold a Share; or

    (ii) a trustee in sequestration, manager, receiver or administrative receiver shall be appointed in respect of a Member or any property of a Member, or an administration order shall be made in respect of a Member or any property of a Member or an order shall be made or an effective resolution passed for the winding up of a Member otherwise than for the purpose of reconstruction or amalgamation;

then that Member or its manager, receiver, administrative receiver, administrator or liquidator or any other person entitled to the Share shall, on receiving notice in writing from the Board following the Company in General Meeting passing a Qualified Resolution that such notice should be issued by the Board and confirming the identity of the proposed transferee, transfer its Share to such other person as the Board shall direct at the price of £1 and the Club owned and operated by such Member shall forthwith cease to be a member of the League and the Club owned and operated by the transferee shall become a member of the League in its place.

    From article 2

    Qualified Resolution means, in relation to those Reserved Matters referred to in Article 37, a resolution of the Company which requires the support of not less than 90% of the Members entitled to attend and vote at a General Meeting , whether all the Members of the Company actually attend and vote or not, of which notice has been duly given in accordance with these Articles, to be passed;

Can someone tell me who is in charge of cutbacks/redundancies exactly? Is it Duff & Duffer or the players?

Also, if it’s true the players have agreed to 75% cuts and get free transfers end of season, this is purely dissolving any player assets. No wonder Whyte wanted HIS administrators in place. Liquidation a certainty if this is correct.
