Celtic didn’t hit the heights of last week’s win at Tynecastle against Inverness last night but it was a remarkably controlled win nonetheless. The game could have been over as a contest in the opening minutes but as the lead didn’t extend beyond a single goal the contest retained an edge.
Daniel Majstorovic was incorrectly penalised when he correctly challenged for the ball 25 yards from goal but the Swede’s lax initial response to the forward ball created the situation that resulted in his red card. Dan had a painful game against Inverness last season but after they were reduced to 10 men Celtic were far too composed to let Inverness’ numerical advantage count.
We’ve spoken about the value of goals from midfield in recent seasons. Kris Commons lit up Celtic’s season when he arrived in a flurry of goals last year but Joe Ledley’s efforts from the back post this season could prove to be even more important.

Cheers.
As MWD has just said, it’s down to Dermo, and I would wager he would be a Hawk, if not, we are well and truly fecked.
Billy Dodds…………………complete winker
Just watched R@ngers highlights on BBC. No contact on elbows for free kick which led to their 2nd goal and clear penalty for Dunf not given after they had hit the post and the player following up barged over. Rampant Mibbery of the same kind we suffered from yesterday. They are not even subtle about it.
Peter Desmond = Peter Lawell

I think that Desmond would like a dig at the EPL.No more Rangers would greatly enhance Celtic’s chances of gaining entry to the said league.
Some folk are of the opinion that Desmond would cash in if such a scenario came to pass.
I am not so sure about this.Much as Desmond loves making money, his family, and in particular, his eldest son,see the shares as being somewhat sacred.
Remember reading an interview with Desmond,in which he said that his son basically told him that,he could sell whatever parts of his buisnesses that he so wished, but that the shares in Celtic must never be sold.
The son is the real Celtic man.

Celtic voting for newco in SPL
We’re talking of the death of 1873 (or is it 72?)
Celtic need to be careful.
Voting for newco (unless with SEVERE penalties over years) might mean the death of 1888

Agree completely, a timely reminder what we are up against. I sometimes think some of the ghuys on here are a wee bit ‘paranoid’ getting on the refs’ backs for giving shies/free kicks/ corners agin us – often they are decisions that could have gone either way. Saturday brought me back to my senses – a week in La Manga was EITHER a week wasted for the SFA (witness the crap officiating we saw on Saturday) OR it was a week spent in worthwhile anti-Timmy planning (witness the crap officiating we saw on Saturday).
I was naive enough to think that after Dougie-Dougie last year we had passed a watershed – Saturday was one of the worst examples of refereeing one-sidedness I have EVER seen. The clown with the flag in front of the North Stand gave us zilch all afternoon, even an obvious corner that was eventually given to us by the MIB, it was so clear. That was the eejit that missed, somehow, the wrestling hold on Broonie!

La Manga is a ludge meeting in the sun, it just galvanises their goals, as you said the evidence was clear for all to see.
This will be a hard fought title to win, which we will win, the tide has turned mi amigo.

In my opinion there is no debate. This once in 2 or 3 lifetimes chance to remove a cancer must be grasped head on. I don’t need to list the depravity of their history and Scotland’s accompanying depraved indifference to their disgrace. If Celtic are involved one iota in their survival its the end of it. My support of Celtic is a moral one in my opinion. Of course money comes into it but there are other ways alluded to on this blog today.
Celtic do not need that scum in any way shape or form.
