We don’t need no stinkin’ courtesies

Scottish football has afforded defending champions the courtesy of a home game on the first day of the season to allow the league championship flag to be unfurled at the start of the new campaign for as many decades as I remember.

As this has, in effect, become a courtesy to give Celtic a home start to the campaign in as many years as my sons can remember, we’ll be at Tynecastle on the opening day of the season. Flag Day will have to wait.

That said, I like the idea of taking on Hearts away, then our nearest challengers, Aberdeen, at home. Come through this successfully and we will be in excellent shape for the campaign.

The Aberdeen game comes immediately after the final round of European qualifiers, so we have an opportunity to finish August in a real high – if we get the preparatory work done early enough.

Bring it on.  We don’t need no stinkin’ courtesies.

    Half wit now half arsed, cheers for the compliments …. I think the Res12 has been a roaring (Cqn) success and have never doubted the issue you were all campaigning for…. You might know more about everything in the world than I ever will but am perfectly happy being a Celtic fan posting on a Celtic site ….. Half witted or half arsed obviously you are better placed than me …. I still think if Celtic FC open their mouth UEFA will be on them, again hopefully you will let me have my half witted opinion

    Delighted – inadequate word – to report that Kevin has been found in Avignon and that the French police have returned him to Susan in their hotel.

     

    You might have this by other means by now from one of us, the family. We don’t know much more at all and we’re not pestering S&K for information. My sister Jane says he’s “safe but not exactly well” but obviously the main thing, indeed the only thing, is that he’s back with her.

     

    As I said on a Tweet, if you are a praying person, convert your prayers for Kevin now into prayers of gratitude!

     

    Long ago this tough evening I lost count of the messages, retweets and Facebook comments I’ve eceived to say nothing of what my brother, sister, nephew and Susan herself received. Thank you also seems inadequate but we mean it! God bless.

    But like your good self I don’t know any Celtic fan who can’t wait for Brendan’s team, Young & old have caught the bug again, that new team has definitely reignited the youngsters, partly our fault for being worked up for the semi-final, don’t let anybody kid you that felt worse than Ross Co, only a liar will tell you differently, different club but same flies & media….. As a Plc am sure Dermott doesn’t mind the exposure to pay Brendan’s wages, it’s the way of the world …. Bills need to be paid, principles cost heehaw
