We’ve seen more of these games than Brendan

693

Thus far results haven’t mattered, but if his players walk into the dressing room at halftime tomorrow without being in the lead, you can believe there will be an edge in the team- talk. You and I have probably seen more of these kind of games than Brendan. They are seldom straightforward and while the manager plays with pretty much the hand he inherited, I don’t expect a remarkable change in outcomes.

Assuming results go to plan, we’ll have six Champions League qualifiers in the next seven weeks. That’s a lot of football, hopefully most of it will be played with the benefit of one or two more arrivals.

  1. BMCUW –

    Happy birthday.

I have no problem with supporters giving it to players for their performance. I have done that myself.

My comment this morning was about vile personal abuse aimed at the manager, to his face, by individual Celtic supporters, and sparked off by the flimsiest of reasons . . . a misplaced pass or the opposition almost scoring.

My comment did not even mention criticism of players.

    James Forrest/Saint Stivs,

    Thanks for 7,8 and 9…:))

    Re the new club.

I always wondered if any other club applied for the vacant spot, and if not why not.

Surely some well run ambitious club would have jumped at the opportunity to join the big boys.

I wonder if they were told not to bother as the monkey had jumped the queue.

“Celtic have described the comments as “highly inappropriate and irresponsible and not worthy of any further comment”.

Tam agree with you completely. Some fans believe it is their God given right to be able to abuse the manager. Whatever people thought of Ronny to throw personal abuse at him is not on. If the supporters had dished out the same abuse to an oppossing manager they would probably have been lifted under the OBAF Act!

Recently moved to London (living in Bethnal Green, working in Covent Garden) – can any London Celts recommend a decent pub to watch the game tomorrow? Preferably Celtic minded.

Rumoured to be after Dutch centre half, Jerry St Juste. Never heard of him but likened to VVD on Twitter.

For me, one of the problems about abusive criticism of players ( and I know that is not what you were talking about) is that it is quite clear that some of the culprits really don`t know what they are talking about. I don`t just mean a difference of opinion over a certain type of player ( Bitton: Good or bad? Sammi: Good or bad?).

I mean the ” Punt it up the park!” kind of `advice`offered by these tactical wizards as a solution to perceived ills.

That is but one point clarification is needed on and why UEFA are going to be asked to provide it.

To nail it to the floor UEFA would need to ask for all correspondence between RFC and HMRC relating to that period and that is what the CFCB can do but UEFA CL & FFP have given reasons not to.

UEFA CL&FFP were also less than clear when they realised there was an overdure payable.

The arrival of Sherriff Officers in August 2011 between CL and EL qualifiers is likely to have been a clue as in wtf!

The question then is what was said by RFC and checked by the SFA in June 2011 that said no overdue’s payable that was evidently no longer true 6 weeks later.

Until that clarification is made clear no one can be sure if the process was properly followed and that includes the chaps on RM who think the rules were followed.

This idiot has a history of coming off with remarks like this. As much as I hate the man and would love to see him taken to task, he enjoys the publicity that comes with it. It’s the only thing that keeps him relevant. Ignore his ramblings, that will annoy him more

  13. Bada – no wish to defend Sky or Montgomerie but could also be to do with the fact he is saying it is his last Open and also think is dad is due to the Captain or President next year. That aside we should all be worried that Sky have picked up another event that hitherto was free to air. Hope you are enjoying/enjoyed your hols. Hail Hail

I hope they do go to UEFA and SFA and BDO.

They would have to respond based on the truth which is what Res12 is trying to get at. Hope it doesn’t take them 3 years.

I’m new so wouldn’t like to comment on any other poster just yet! If you want to see what type of man Campbell is check out his comments towards Raymond McCartney after the elections. His time has come and gone and he will be out of the public eye soon enough, left with nothing but his Facebook comments to keep him busy.

  21. No Euro games; no Wimbledon and a Rest Day on the Tour. Thank goodness Celtic are playing tomorrow!

  23. EddieinKarmichael

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I agree and did not mean in any way for my question to be asking or pressing for the Uefa letter to be published.

The discussion I was having with someone, was based around the powers that be in Scottish football’s actions, and perhaps those actions/inactions fully defeating the same club myth. Everyone knows the truth, that they are a new club with only a few years history.

That was part of my discussion i.e. being that admin stops european involvement….

According to their myth, it seems as they claim it’s the company that is in admin/liquidation and not the club. Therefore to continue their “logic”, the club should still have been able to play in Europe that next season. That’s why the club/company separation myth is just that, a myth.

Perhaps I am not clever enough to find it or barking up the wrong tree, but I think somewhere in the new club not participating in Europe and also in them participating in the early rounds of the Scottish cup, maybe there is something that blows the same club lie.

Obviously the details the Res 12 warriors have in the Uefa letter blows the same club myth, but it would maybe be equally satisfying if somewhere in the above or elsewhere, it is also proved by the actions of the Scottish football powers that be.

    Thanks again for your reply.

Can I ask the relevance of the 1st 2 questions?

They don’t really apply to me. Does that put me out of alignment with a majority of the support? I’d bet it doesn’t.

If the board are out of touch with a majority in the support, and I’d accept that argument – although it’s not as universal as some would believe, then it’s not related to those 1st 2 questions.

  28. MASTY

And please note that his vile comments are reported in The Herard.

The paper desperate to carry our advertising – they need the money – but who pulled out after ” the powers that be” got involved and decided that even though they had not seen the text we would be banned from promoting Res12.

I have strong suspicions that he influenced the Herald and indeed got to “senior management” at the Guardian. It must have been an added bonus for him that the Guardian also threw Phil’s buddy Greenslade under a bus too.

If James Forrest is still around please feel free to include in your feature on this bigot.

    Masty,

Part of the problem is it’s passed off as banter, , barbed humour. In any other part of the world, if a politician repeatedly came off with this they would be censored and made to make a humbling apology. But not in the school playground politics of the north. Campbell has been allowed to get away with this for years. I wish I could say he was a dying breed, but alas no

  31. Small hill Tim

I’m well aware he’s not from a dying breed, BUT, breed is a thing they don’t seem to do as well as us,
