Words are easy, so are actions

After yesterday’s discussion on values, what we’re all about and where we’re going, today’s announcement by the Foundation that they will have a badge day at the Dundee United game on 11 May is something that requires us to step forward and do something about.

“Volunteers will be in place at all turnstile areas and supporters will be asked to make a donation of minimum £1 in return for a badge, which illustrates the new Celtic FC Foundation crest.  All monies raised on the day will support our work challenging homelessness in the Glasgow area.”

I’m going to volunteer.  You should too.  It will mean getting to the game a wee bit earlier but it will also mean you can look those values we all preach in the eye.  Words are easy but on this occasion, so are actions.  Let’s do it.

I’ll find out how you volunteer and report back soon.

According to my renewal email I’m on automatic renewal. I didn’t select that last year. Have to email club by 28th April or they’ll take £.

And they will just ignore the e mail chrisy boy, fud.

Tee-hee! You can say what you want about the Sevco “leadership team” but they know more about pulling the wool than Wee Fra. And he’s got sheep!

So with the increase in the prices, and the expected drop in uptake, no credit line, more hilarity for Timland me thinks.

  3. I see that NewsNow are saying that Rogic is not out for the season and he will play for Melbourne. I hope the boy is not risking an injury to try to make the World Cup.

As for Atletico Madrid, I had real hatred of them for a long time but it is lessening. Still have a soft spot for the contribution of Georg Schwarzenbeck to the happiness of Celtic supporters everywhere.

Absolutely mate. I can see a few being somewhat irate when the ticket gets renewed automatically though.

I’m sure the various high street moneylenders will be rubbing their hands. So now we know Ramsdens sponsored yon cup.

No he was manager of River Plate in ’67. He then managed in; Spain, Italy and Argentina before going to A. Madrid (73-75).

He returned to South America after losing the 1974 EC and managed various clubs including Racing Club in 1980 (for less than a season). He popped back up in Italy in the 80’s before completing his managerial career with Boca Juniors in 1987 when he retired (short Wiki version).

  11. The Racing Club manager in those World Club Championship matches was Juan Jose Pizzuti.

SFTB…Herr Scwarzenbeck left it very late (30 seconds to go?) back in Brussels in 1974 – made it all the sweeter.

Jude2005…The Rangers (aka Sevco) are really scraping the bottom of the barrel to promote theri season tickets. Alex “Doddy” MacDonald and (canit be) Lee Harvey Oswald!

Of course, there was a Rangers (IL)(1873 – 2012) supporters club named after the infamous asassin back in 1963. The Lee Harvey Oswald Loyal no less (from “Brigton” I think).

Doc – I was editing it before sending it on. The unglamorous side of things!

BRTH’s being paying up regularly as he doesn’t want me to spill the beans about him and those two fat ladies he met in Oran Mor last summer.

Frankly, Kojo says more than his prayers

I refuse to read his tripe but understand from the reaction to his comments that by his own admission he hasn’t lived in Scotland for years.

He is a racist who condemns inter-racial relationships and talks of plough horses not breeding with thoroughbreds.

His apparent concern for the Catholic community in Scotland is welcome but ultimately is as relevant as a flea biting an elephant’s behind. With friends like him the Catholic community needn’t look for enemies.

Interesting that a recurring theme on here is anti-Catholic prejudice within the ranks of the SNP and the usual uneducated bigot in darkest west Central Scotland

I would echo the point made earlier that the Catholic community has more to worry about from the likes of the only Scottish politician to put his head above the parapet and openly advocate the eradication of Catholic schools, the only obvious diversion in agenda from a one trick pony.

Yes, everyone’s favourite intolerant voice of tolerance – step forward Patrick Harvie.
