    Great win on the back of a Euro? away trip,thought we

     

    looked a bit leggy 2nd half.

     

     

    When we signed LG I came on here and said he would score

     

    for us domestically but wouldn’t hack it in Europe and that he

     

    would embarrass the club with his off field antics.

     

     

    I’m a know fcuk all fanny,is he score’s the winner in the

     

    Nou Camp he will secure legend status.

    Leigh is like the rest of us not perfect, I wanted him because he always struck me on the park as a worker (reminds me of MJ) sorry for swearing, never in my wildest dreams did I think he would be so prolific and that’s with missing a few pens……that bhoy could break records, anyway his wee acknowledgment today of a wee bhoy was what Leigh is now and not back then….. I posted earlier about the article just after my good lady showed Kieran’s teammates minute silence u-13s in somber mood…..hope Celtic winning and probably their hero LG giving their teammate will give the wee bhoys a lift that they will definitely need…..

    Apologies if already posted…..

     

     

    Without fuss or fanfare, about 5 mins after the final whistle at the North West corner Nir Bitton came over climbed over the boundary wall and presented an autographed Celtic top to a young supporter and his dad/guardian.

     

     

    Have no idea of the story behind it but whatever…..top man Nir!

     

     

    He gets Celtic and I really hope he finds his best game again, and soon!

    Excellent result and, imo, certainly deserved, if on the 1st half performance alone.

     

     

    On the way home, I had the misfortune to hear McInnes give his appraisal of the match. Willie Miller had to put him right.

     

     

    I thought our captain, who has been playing well, was poor with his distribution, particularly in the second half. Lustig made a couple of howlers too, although the biggest howler of the lot was from James Forrest with his misplaced pass which led ultimately to their scoring.

     

     

    Wasn’t overly impressed by the new goalkeeper and his distribution didn’t seem any better than Craig Gordon’s. Still, I hope he gives it to Bitton rather than our captain, to bring the ball out.

     

     

    Some of our football, especially in the first half, was excellent. We could (should) have scored a couple more.

     

     

    Still, it’s great going to a fairly full Celtic Park in the sunshine and give Aberdeen a lesson, especially after a draining midweek European tie.

     

     

    Things are looking very very good.

    Hopefully the SPL managed to flog this game to lot of countries around the world.

     

     

    Good advert for the league.

     

    Not the prettiest but no lack of effort from both sides.

     

    Consequently onwards and upwards.

     

     

    New blood needed to make the next step up to the CL.

     

    We do have a bit of quality — that’s what beat the sheep — but we can play some tripe at times.

     

    The SB / NB duet was football to stun pigs with — last season’s dross and then some.

     

    ML seemed to be playing like a cat on hot tin roof in the second half.

     

    The debates he had with Old KT were epic — almost all of the seconded half.

     

     

    We were so bad in the centre of MF that CMcG came on and added some quality.

     

     

    However good game.

     

    Great result and a smattering of some real top quality football.

     

    TR was 50% incredible plus ScS’s run for the penalty was excellent.

     

     

    Interesting to see if the 14 day break helps or hinders our prep for TFOD2?

    I think the problem Madden gave himself was giving a foul every time Bitton moved for the ball, majority of them weren’t fouls yet he still blew. It got to the point that he even started to doubt himself about what was a real foul or not, so didn’t bring out the yellow :O)

    I agree the McGregor brought something to the midfield when he came on, composure and energy mainly. I was surprised that we waiting until 80 minutes to make the change as Brown and Bitton were simply awful in the second half. CM doesn’t quite cut it at CL level so we have an an issue there. I’m sure we are working hard to sign a player of quality for central midfield.

    Stupid Saturday night telly programme on ITV just now. A wee geek type guy is trying to unicycle over 100 upturned wine glasses to win £1000.

     

    Incredibly the half witted host has to tell us to not try this at home, as well as flashing a big message across the screen.

     

    Across the land there are shouts of ” where did you put the unicycle Sadie? And bring me a hunner wine glasses as well.. I think it’s in the cupboard under the stairs”

    I think the wee man could break many records and even better he tried Engurlund with Wolves (actually had a good goal to minutes ratio) but even more so I actually love the fact he is still a Hibee with Celtic as his second team :-)

    I’ve had a really busy day. (I know, I know)

     

     

    Breakfast in bed for my two lovely ghirls, picked up some paint, breakfast at M & S, food shop at the Gyle,

     

    A bit of gardening, then made a Lamb Kerahi. (which was OK)

     

     

    Now sitting down (at last) with a bottle of Cairngorm Black Gold.

     

     

    Just lovely!

     

     

    Oh, and I deserve it!

    Great performance today on the back of a long trip and a hard game in searing heat!

     

     

    First 30 minutes or se were excellent. Some fantastic football – Brown and Bitton played very well during this period IMHO.

     

     

    Sheep get a break of the ball from our bad passing and score. Game went into a bit of a lull but some great football and wee Jaimise scores a belter. Game petered out a bit in the second half but 2 late goals shows our dominance. Some of the team were (understandably) running on empty at the end.

     

     

    3 games in, top of the league with game in hand – that’ll do me. We will destroy them in 2 weeks time. Anyone who thinks they will get near to us needs a head-fix!

    After all the comments coming from Aberdeen players about them winning the league, I expected so much more from them. In the first half they hardly crossed the halfway line and the fact that they actually scored was a black mark against the Celtic defending.

     

    There has also been much talk about tiredness on Celtic’s part. I didn’t think the forwards looked tired at all and if Brown/Bitton had moved the ball for ward quicker they would have given Aberdeen plenty to think about. I know its easy sitting on the sidelines pontificating but the number of times Celtic take two passes to reach a team-mate when one would do is incredible.

     

    Not a Forrest fan, but to be fair to him, he must receive the ball earlier to give him chance….same applies to Roberts.

     

    Having said all that, thank you Celtic for the victory as we won’t have to look at the headline “league leaders Gers” again this season!!

    I put plural in, because it’s amazing what people think you are capable of on here. It wouldn’t surprise me if some thought you were doing all this of your own volition.

    Enjoyed game today & Aberdeen will be there & thereabouts. It looked too obvious today that we HAD to play the ball out from the goalie.

     

     

    At times it looked risky.

     

     

    If you keep the ball for 4 mins the end result HAS to ne a shot on goal or you risk giving a goal away…….hmmm

     

     

    Good work in progress.

    Just in – nice bite to eat after the game – all at table agree we are still very much WIP – kinda flat at times today – however in the end no complaints – there will be more chopping and changing no doubt – was surprised to see CG dropped so soon.HH
