  1. Just back from CP, enjoyable afternoon as we played some good football against as bad a DU team as I’ve seen. Tierney deservedly won MOTM with Brown, Armstrong and Griffiths close behind. Good to see Johansen getting back to a bit of form (playground in his Norway position) and GMS also looking a lot better than recently.

Start with the same team on Wednesday except for Lustig in place of Ambrose.

  2. NA2

    Ronny is not the problem.

Answer me something, see when the players produce a quality display, the passing is good, the pressing is good, the defending is good, the movement is good, and we score a few to top it off.

Would you not think that the coach is entitled to expect the same against the likes of the opo we played in the week ?

The fact that they can turn it on from time to time imo, is the reason they are playing for Celtic, were they able to produce the goods on a regular basis you know as well as I do they wouldn’t be playing for us.

Now this is where the coach has a problem, what can he expect % wise, I think he is doing a grand job in the sphell, in europe not so good, but it’s the players who are fecking up, it’s the players who are letting him down.

Take the Fener game, we were flying at 2-0, then Efe did what he did, shit happens, but it took the wind out of our sails, the players couldn’t hold it together at the start of the 2 nd half, we lost another goal, this is the level our players are at.

The coaching is progressing imo, it takes time, it may take years for the likes of Jim McGuinness to bear fruit, time I think he should get, it took his six years to win the league in Norway against all the odds, that wasn’t a fluke, but time is not what the supporters are willing to give, they want it now, they think they deserve better, they demand what can’t be achieved, and throw their toys out of the pram when they don’t get what they could never get, they need to blame someone, Ronny is the easy target, there is always a player or two who are the whipping boys.

Let’s not bother about the suits just now, but see when you boil it down, the players, the coaches, the actual playing the game, do you not think it’s rather sad, that supposed inteligent supporters are demanding what can’t be attained ?

    I sure do.

I never slag the players, they do their best, same goes for the coaches, they also do their best.

We are where we are, the team, they are not to blame.

I just find it ever so sad that it’s always those who are not to blame get most of the flack.

    ……………………………………………

And I will wager that if we had played the traditional dinosaur 442 today, we wouldn’t have created the amount of chances we did today.

Great assist from KC for the first goal. Never noticed at the match, but Kris wee touch aided Leigh’s finish. :)

Let’s do it then. Probably have the curry in KoolBa in Candleriggs just up the road from the Beer Café. I’ll be in touch soon.

  5. Barcelona are a different team these days, sure big loss Messi but the guy isn’t getting any younger. Will be strange if they slide into average

Losing Messi would devastate any team … but remember FFP. It wasn’t designed to make things fair … it was designed to keep the teams that were at the top then, at the top for good, and to stop other teams from challenging them.

So, Barca may not be ‘barca’ without Messi … but, as one of the richest and biggest clubs then, they will stay that way.

with all the race and slick track, it could be an interesting F1 race today …. could be like playing ice hockey in cars! (or a typical nascar race)

I have just been devasted by the news that my sister in law aged 45 has died of a massive heart attack on the day of her daughter’s tenth birthday. She was a Celtic fanatic and ex employee of Celtic FC. Our family are in deep shock.

    God rest you Tracy RIP

  9. No change same set up, in Paradise just a shuffled pack, and some good man management saw Kris Commons lapping up the home crowd adulation at kick off, showing two fingers at the risible SMSM propaganda.

Truly fit men were needed and that meant, the pragmatists saw steady Efe Ambrose at RB, lording it, in SPL heaven. Jozo Simunovic had an excellent home debut, and for a left footer he packs a fair shot with his right, twice coming close with long range efforts, from his flashing green boots.

So the procession began towards the Lisbon Lions end, the good thing for the supporters that went and took the kids among the Celtic ‘back up’ crowd was that you knew there was going to be no Molde type breakaways, to halt the inevitable which duly began when Leigh Griffiths opened the scoring chasing a ball into the six yard box, that everyone else forgot, scoring from a tight angle on his wrong foot.

Boyata topped another steady SPL game, with a goal, in untroubled waters, until a late oops, against a poor Utd side visiting CP after the last decent versio came way before McNamara and Thomson, sold all the family silver.

Just before half time Keiran Tierney jinked into the box and tumbled between two untouching Utd defenders, and after last weeks farce, Craig Thomson seized his chance with Celtic already 2-0, to give us a penalty for SFA.

With Bitton another casualty Johansen filled his role to good effect, deeper where he could be less wasteful with the ball , and young Kieran Tierney simply had to play LB for the muchos way too muchos maligned Izzaguire. The youngster gave a good account of himself with a more straightforward full backs game, and although he overlapped less, his crosses were always close to their target.

With Zig and Zag were restored on a flank each, although Stuart Armstrong and GMS both came close today both of them, will recapture their early Celtic promise, with so many games in close proximity, one other will rip it up, shortly.

Still cocky Kris Commons scored into the postage stamp corner with a trademark left foot piledriver. Then after all the ususal subbing with Ciftci, Rogic and McGregor, trying to make an impression Broonie stepped in to complete the rout.

We came away home from the Jungle, happy as Larry.

  10. Broonys form has been up and down this season…that said, can never call into question our captains character.

Totally determined today, to make up for Thursday’s dross display

Professional job today, doing what we needed to do with a little style. Young Tierney brought an enthusiasm that helped perk up the others. Let’s keep that going into the next 3 games

  17. Delaneys Dunky.

    Awful news.

Great result today, off to watch Jekyll and Hyde rather than read it :)⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

    Spoiler, Jekyll did it

  19. Well done Celtic. Good result albeit against a poor team. A win on Wednesday and again next Saturday will at least keep our domestic season on track.

    Adios amigos

  20. Whilst enjoying today’s performance and appreciating the score, I note that the opposition were extremely poor but did not resort to the skullduggery that others have shown.
