B.R.’s cerebral, forward thinking approach delivered regular humpings in Europe.
Be careful what you wish for.

Unlike some, maybe many Celtic supporters, I don’t place any importance on our European results. Getting thrashed by the top tier teams is neither here nor there.
What I do wish for is a manger who can field a team that plays with style and panache. “The Celtic Way”.

If BR had left at the end of the season, would Lenny be on your list of candidates to replace him?

Good afternoon CQN from a very sad Garngad
Although I never had the pleasure of meeting MAH (Stephen) I admired his strength at fighting his health issues, and compassion he had for others who had their own health battles, and I conversed with him several times on CQN. He always was a gentleman.
It’s at times like these that football and other daily trivialities get put into perspective.
God bless Stephen and his family and may our Lord find the time to give strength to his family at this very trying time.

Those of us of a certain vintage are familiar with the Rosary generally prayers recited at Catholic funerals and still by some families in the home. The particular decade which springs to mind is the Transfiguration in relation to yesterday’s match and the manner of Jozo’s remarkable goal and it’s timing in the 67th minute perhaps Billy McNeill came down from above just one more time to fill that number five shirt and score one of his trademark goals. Jozo in his post match comments felt as a christian he was blessed to rise and head that ball into the net.
Kilmarnock were well organised and played some good football and difficult to break down but well done to the lads they are almost there for another title.

Sorry to ask in the context of this news, but I need to ask a favour.
Does anyone have a link to an online full match replay of last season’s Scottish Cup Semi-final versus Rangers at Hampden – 15/04/2018 – the 4-0 match?
I can only find brief highlights, and need to see more comprehensive footage.
Any help VERY gratefull appreciated.

Almore, thanks for postings on Irish folk songs, Surprised A Nation Once Again was not included as it was voted by BBC World Service as the world’s most popular song and has wonderful poetic words. The song was written in 1844.
I go with Cork Celt’s choice of The Foggy Due (Sinead O’Connor) and Raglan Road ( Luke Kelly). I pick The Foggy Due as RTE were banned from playing any of those Republican songs by the then Labour, Minister of Posts and Telegraphs, Conor Cruise O’Brien, that had such an impact on the Irish culture and yet BBC played these tunes.
River Dance in 1984 shown on RTE in 1984 for the first time allowed Irish people to celebrate their culture once again.
As was mentioned last night, achieving winning the leagues can be difficult to get over the line, as we have experienced over many years, especially when the occasion of Saturday was a case of emotion with capacity crowd expecting the day to finish with a win. How many times have we expected a victory when we celebrated winning the league, seldom does it result in a victory. So I half expected the way we played. I don’t expect we shall get a win when Hearts come to Paradise if we have the league won.Saying that, I was disappointed with Neil Lennon’s body language,

Good afternoon friends.
Very sad to learn that Stephen Murdoch Auld and Hay lost his battle. Only met him a couple of times but had various exchanges on here over the years. One of the first CQNrs I met as a real human being.
He’d have been one on my mind, the only one in fact. As I’ve said before…9 will be a battle and 10 a war.
We need someone who knows the course. Not a ‘chequebook manager’ that will be off at the first bat of the eyelids. An honest Mhan with Celtic in his heart. We’ve done not too bad since Lenny responded to the call. Undefeated, 4 points better and in the SC final, despite onfield assaults on our players, oor players….
The call should be made now. Stop faffing about, it’s the uncertainty that’s costing us. The longer it goes on, the more I feel the correct decision will not be made.
I can honestly say that if we appoint Davie Moyes, that I will not set foot in paradise while he is manager.
Who would your choice be?
Mine, as you might have guessed is Neil Francis Lennon

I first met Stephen at a CSA Rally, the one of the first I met as well. He was such a humble man, quiet but by God he was Celtic through and through. I went to see him a few weeks ago with a few other bloggers including CRC. Something I didn’t think I could do as I wanted to remember as he was on the 03/11/2018 when he and his Brother, Jim joined some of us Coatbridge and three Dutch Bhoys in the Kerrydale Suite and the humping of the Jambos 5-0. Even sweeter I asked Stephen what the score would be, we bet 5-0.
I am glad CRC asked me to go and see Stephen and told him thanks.
Until we meet again…

HEARTS fans have been accused of disrespecting a minute’s applause for Billy McNeill.
A tribute was held for Celtic icon McNeill before today’s Edinburgh derby at Easter Road.Players gathered around the centre circle as the stadium joined in a sixty second applause for the Parkhead icon, who died on Monday night following a battle with dementia.
But a section of supporters could be heard singing during the applause, which was met by a chorus of boos from the home end.
Fans took to Twitter to express their disgust.
