    Good measured analysis.

I’d also stick with Ronny. The fact that Tierney was our best player gives me some optimism.

I said last year I thought the younger players would adapt better than the older ones to Ronny’s methods.

It won’t be plain sailing all the way, but I think we will be in much better shape in the years ahead.

No amount of hypothesising will change the FACTS.

We are BIG men in Scotland.

We are WEAKLING BOYS in Europe.

This is statistically evidenced by the records.

It is clear to behold on the park.

  3. Sispini whats has hugh adam got to do with a dreadful performance from celtic this evening. we weren’t playing sevco ,grow up for gods sake

Aye when Kieran was applauding the fans, when Ciftci came over and joined in, in my head i was thinking you get tae…

  6. Evening

Well that was appalling. Tierney aside there was little to enjoy there and some of the players looked half hearted long before the end and the performance of Blsckett was as bad as I have seen since the likes of McNally and McGugan.

Ronny ? Well read a few comments about his lack of a Plan B but tonight I genuinely struggled to see a Plan A – I have liked some of the things he has done but the repeated embarrassment in Europe are now too much for me although I would imsgine his dismissal will see another cheap appointment. I know chsnges in thinking and personnel at the too of the club are needed but continuing with a coach who seems so utterly unable to learn no longer seems an option

  7. If you realy want to the standard we have fallen to, we signed 3 players from Jacikes Dundee Utd, and now he’s the York City manager, Feckin wake up you lot, we’re in a bad place!!!!!

  9. This must be the weakest Celtic squad in a very long time, they are just not weak but very thick in the way they go about their game. Apart from young Kiernan who has a very bright future ahead if he kicks on there is no quality what so ever. The way i see it is it too late, sure the SPL is in the bag but UEFA is a goner for a while.

No defence no DM shortage of central mids and a collection of useless attacking mids coupled with one striker who is great in the league but crap in UEFA. Then we have coaches who quite frankly should not be in the dugout but better suited on the training ground.

We are in one almighty mess.

It really has been obvious for so bloody long.

25 mill. loss of income which it would be reasonable for a club of the stature of Celtic to EXPECT.

Where ,in the corporate world would that be tolerated.

For those who were not at the game and wonder what many of the greatest fans in the World were like, just look at Ruggyman`s 10:40 post.

As for the performance of the team? Very poor. Too many players had a bad game on the same evening. I can hardly blame Ronny Deila for that! In spite of the ragged nature of the display, Griff and Lustig had excellent chances and one goal mouth melee offered another splendid opportunity. One of those nights. I can accept that a lot more easily than the booing which makes us just like any other fans.

Ross County on Sunday could be interesting.

    `night all.

You guys are the death of us.

    You epitomise “acceptance”

You are on here daily, and don’t live in the real world.

You witness the decline of Celtic, yet focus adverse energy on those that are against the decline.

You are everything that’s wrong with Celtic.

I trust in the fact (attendances will demonstrate) that the majority will over rule the few.

You guys will become the few….. The celebrity’s that you are.

Change will happen, because the masses will drive it.

You guys can still come on here and write pish tho.

  13. Tonight Molde faced a side consisting of 3 players who start for their national sides. A Swede, Norwegian and Israeli.

Not one other player starts regularly in international football.

Yet, we as fans expect us to beat Molde comfortably.

I think the domestic games have allowed me to kid myself on we have some top players. We don’t. We have prospects and 3rd tier international players.

No manager would guarantee success with that squad.

  14. BT

Thats what I get for trying to give you full moniker. :o) I’ll stick to BT now

Thanks for the reminder that led to me reposting the link.

  15. See if players are deliberately not trying because they don’t like the manager (as some appear to be suggesting) I’d be sacking them at the same time as him. You simply cannot have that. It’s completely short changing the fans.

I thought we were playing more or less ok in the 1st half and although we got suckered we got back into it then shot ourselves in the foot again. The fact that we created chances suggests the set up was more or less correct.

Personally I’d have hooked Johansen for Forrest and left Commons on. The lack of belief in that team is horrific to see. If Brown had been playing we’d have won. I’m sure of it.

Sorry for trolling a bit earlier, but we’re not out of this yet. Given current form I’d suggest a completely revamped midfield might be no bad thing. And lets be frank Ajax are at least as bad as us.

We can get through with only 4 points from the next two games as well. If Molde win both. But I’d be going for two wins.

Part of me believes a 49 year old Ronny Delia could be great a Celtic. He has a lot of attributes Id look for in a Manager of Celtic.

He needs to find the missing ingredient of experience elsewhere. He was a desperate punt that hasn’t worked as quickly as required / hoped.

The problem is in finding an alternative we will likely need to take a similar punt again as clearly there wasn’t a queue 18 months ago… If anything we are now a less attractive proposition to experienced managers.

I don’t think the same is true of CEO though

  17. And still cannot analyse what they see on the field and revert to ‘stabbing’ Lawwell.

Look this is a football problem – we have a football budget that dwarfs that of the likes of Legia, Maribor, Malmo and Molde – it is what we are doing with it, that is the problem.

Ronny is NOT a MANAGER – he is a trainng ground coach – we need a manager – a game-savvy, tactically aware, experienced MANAGER.

We are ‘in a hole’, please let’s stop digging.

Ronny, his staff, and a clutch of his players must go, and quick – not a ‘knee-jerk’, but the ONLY reaction.

  18. We were well beaten home and away by Molde. Man for man with the exception of Tierney they were a better team than us. A serious examination of where we are going is required now. I cannot see RD leading us into next season’s CL qualifiers without some major changes.

Don’t say it too loud tho….. The cqn daily’so will lynch you

  21. Oh Dear, too much drink taken me thinks.

The coach is not the problem, the problem lies higher up the food chain.

Give him the players he wants, he will do fine, give him substandard players, you saw the result tonight.

    No,mate.

    They are our life`s blood.

I frequently disagree with them and they with me.

    So what?

  23. Mr Pastry – do you mean the players we sign are not good enough or the manager is not getting enough out of them?

I actually think there is less between or first 11 and Molde in terms of quality than you might think.

    Likewise Malmo and Maribor.

As I said above, we no longer are a team full of internationals. All 3 of those teams will have 4 or 5 internationals for nations of a similar level to us.

  24. ruggygman

You can be a lovely guy & also possess the attributes you mention.

It’s not Ronny’s personality that’s the issue its his tactics.

    HH!

  25. I have always supported Ronnie and given him all the time he needs to put a challenging team on the park!

However, he is clearly inept at a European level.

Truth be told, Celtic only need a modicum of tactical nous to win the Spl. Such is our quality of player in comparison to our rivals.

Any moderate manager could manage Celtic to the Spl title.

In my opinion we are useless when we play against even the most mundane of euro opposition.

Ronnie to me would be a very able reserve or academy coach. As was first envisaged.

He is clearly challenged at the level he aspires to.

It’s too soon for the guy to be celtic manager.

Hopefully the board are starting to see this reality.

The team as fielded tonight and in Delia’s previous European games have been tactically inept and lacking in a determination to win.

Just not worthy of a true Celtic team nor the Celtic way
