With only three minutes of the game remaining, Jock Stein dispossessed Gordon Smith in the centre of the park, and in one of Celticβs now rare raids on the Hibs goal, his pass was quickly swept down field. It found inside forward Jimmy Walsh inside the Hibs penalty area, who wasted no time in crashing the ball past goalkeeper Tommy Younger to put the tie beyond the Edinburgh side, giving Celtic a somewhat flattering 2-0 victory.
Centre-half Hugh Howie had been Hibs top player on the day, while for Celtic, Bobby Evans and captain Jock Stein had been immense, particularly during the first half in containing the dangerous Reilly. However, the star of the show had undoubtedly been the Celtic goalkeeper Johnny Bonnar who had had the game of his life.
The teams that day were as follows:
Hibernian: Younger, Govan and Paterson, Buchanan, Howie and Combe, Smith, Johnstone, Reilly, Turnbull and Ormond
Celtic: Bonnar, Haughney and Rollo, Evans, Stein and McPhail, Collins, Walsh, Mochan, Peacock and Fernie
Referee: Hugh Phillips (Motherwell)

We need to play Ajeti and Klimala up front to see if they are worth keeping next season. Both seem poor but Klimala at least tries. However, the new manager is as bad as the old manager, so he’ll probably stick with the same failed formula.
Why Soro doesn’t play is a complete mystery. We beat the top team in France when he came into the team. He gives us more than Broony, play them both and get rid of Christie – for good.
I hope there were no scouts from cash-rich clubs watching OE today. We’ll be lucky to get 10 million for him.

100%. It was not a conspiracy just a complete lack of competence which has permeated the club for a long time now, but not been found out sooner (at least in a domestic sense) because of the monopoly we enjoyed. Even then, we had disasters domestically under Neil x2 and Ronny, but so long as TIAR was in the horizon, that was swept under the rug.
Well TIAR is gone and Pedro is sneaking out the backdoor.

31003 – You are right about Eddie.
I feel though that we are to slow in attacking that the opposing team get back to defend. Which in turn means he has numerous defenders marking him or congesting the area’s where he wants to attack.

βThe season isnβt the unmitigated disaster itβs been painted.β
Papped out the League Cup at home by the worst team in the League, who hadnβt scored in 5 games.
Papped out the Champions League at home while playing a useless midfield player as the lone striker.
Papped out the Europa League with the worst defensive record of 48 teams, and the 573rd worst aggregate record of 576 previous all time entrants.
Lost the league at the earliest point for 118 years, 20 points and 25 goals behind.
Failed to take a point off Sevco, or score a single goal, and in one game, fail to register one sole, single solitary shot at goal.
Not one single effective 90 minute performance all season.
Our brightest youngsters fleeing the sinking ship for Germany, the U.S. and England.
A flailing manager finally put out his misery many months after his incompetence was obvious to a blind man.
The CEO and Chairman double down on their previous mendacity to shareholders regarding Resolution 12, and their obvious knowledge and acceptance of a corrupt secret 5 way agreement.
Placed any new manager in an impossible situation vis-a-vis preparing for the Champions League qualifiers.
