My cousin is a nurse in Glasgow. Back in May she, along with several of her ward colleagues, had a fever and other covid symptoms. They were sent home to isolate. None of them were tested to confirm that they had Covid. They all returned to work after a couple of weeks as if nothing had happened.

A friend of mine experienced similar to your coùsin, told to isolate,did so and got a home kit sent to her home,thankfully negative,and back on ward after 4 days off,i think its the pull of their profession mate,at that mate,true heroes…dunno if she has ever heard of Stephèn Robinson 😊

Okay, so what exactly am I missing here? In an earlier post you mentioned Trump as ‘an unlikely saviour’ (I think, apologies if I’m misquoting you but I don’t have the time to look back). Trump is actively trying to corrupt democracy in the United States and wants to be the Putin of America. In what possible way could he classed as a saviour? Unless you hate democracy of course, then I could understand.

I don’t think it is the current low-level that takes precedence, it is the certainty that that low-level is now rising, and will continue to rise if the increasing incidence (SOME of it an artifact due to increased testing) is not tackled. The ease of spread of the virus, coupled with the severe and multi-faceted impact on on many who contract it means that, without widespread social interventions (and I am NOT saying the ones being employed by government are all correct) incidence will increase, hospitalisations will increase, ITU admissions will increase, deaths will increase.
