Football, racism and prevarication

411

All it takes to make you feel less like you live in a leper colony is to watch European football and realise that problems of racism are not confined to Scotland or England.  I don’t know if many care in Hungary how their fans looked against England, going by the standard M.O. here, you suspect some will blame the media for highlighting that hoary old lie, the “tiny minority”.

The media and politicians certainly have a role in publicising racism, or covering it up, as has often been the case around these parts.  Memories of the 2011 League Cup Final stand out in particular, a moment when political affirmation of racist conduct pivoted behaviour in the stands that remains to this day.

This problem has touched every club but seldom been an issue for Celtic, you would literally need to go back decades.  When an incident happened in the 80s, fans took responsibility, which drew a clear line of what was acceptable, observed ever since.  Prevarication does not work as well.

Football is set to return to our stands and TVs this weekend.  We will see the results of prevarication.

From what I understand more likely every 12 months. Like the flu vaccine.

Health workers are already getting boosters.

  2. Ernie, Eddy is a fantastic footballer, but he’s gone and he showed he was not wanting to be here. The old adage of give me one volunteer rather than ten conscripts springs to mind.

I may be wrong, but the guys Ange has brought in all look like they want to be at Celtic, so to answer your question, no we will not miss Eddy,ie, te Eddy of the past 18 months

No idea why you ditched your membership of the SNP.If it’s about the Vaccine, even more mystified. The FM,is only doing what she thinks is best for the NHS.The figures are going up day by day.250,000 new cases per week.1,000 dead per week.7,500 now in Hospital. It can’t go on.

They have just released figures here today, first time,a breakdown.Of the 280 deaths,164 were over 60s with no Vaccines.85,Between 20 and 40,with no Vaccines,3 with only one Vaccine, the rest overlying health issues.

They are now really trying to get across the importance of full Vaxx. You can see the figures.

  5. Booster jab… where do I sign Ill take a few of those.

Success at last ONLINE with my Vaccination Passport.

Ive downloaded it on my Desktop and Phone…and Ive requested a Paper version as I dont have a Printer anymore.

The TWO phone numbers including the NHS Helpline were NOT very helpful.

I just persevered Online til I finally was able to download the information.

    Cheers bhoys.

Well it’s a pity that there’s no one at the Club with the man management and motivational skills to turn that round.

Iexplained why I resigned from the SNP. Nothing to do with the vaccine. In fact there was no vaccine at that time.

    I am 100% pro-vaccine.

    .

Ive managed to finally download the VACCINE Document online.

One of the problems that I met Today was that I clicked on ” NEW” User…but it said that my USERNAME was NOT valid, so I didnt have the option to ” REGISTER”…..and I coulodnt ” Sign In2 as my details were not registered….I was going round in circles…But please dont ask me ” How, did you do it” ?….as I dont have a clue !

    LOL.

NHS Covid phone number ending 8565…was useless as you can NOT actually speak to anyone.

The NHS Helpline ending in 8013, was slightly better as I actually spoke to someone after a 5 minute wait…but ALL she could advise was that I KEEP ON Trying Online….Which is what I did.

The only motivation was £80k / week

  11. As much as I agree with the Vaxx rules,I have a problem with how it will be implemented. My mates have told me the new Cycle lane is causing chaos on Matchdays.Surely,to start with, this could be opened up on Matchdays.Instead of trying to check 60,000,Stewards could spot check every one in 10 say, until a better system is discovered.

I don’t think ,at the moment, that checking 60,000 people is possible, there has to be more thought put into it.Janefield St,would need to be checked before entering. We know the dangers there of overcrowding.I understand the urgency, but leeway must be given until all the problems are solved.Covid is going nowhere,so take time, and get it right.

  12. Bad news about Kyogo. If he’s out until the next international break then we keep him during the international break and allow him the extra week or so to recover.

Kyogo missing all our games then swanning off to Japan in 5 weeks to play for them would be infuriating.

  13. registering using the RECOVER option is very unforgiving

one letter or number out of place from the records the NHS

Boys apologies for jumping into your debate

But regarding Eddy I was a nervous wreck on transfer day – worried we would/could not sell him

In this calendar year he has been terrible

Now it could be he was backing off looking for the ball or worried about getting injured

But I thought he was a liability

Proven in abundance when Koyogo arrived

    IMHO of course

Ross County are a fantastic club with superb supporters, walking up the Springfield Road you just know they are proper supporters when chatting away.

  17. I also want any BOOSTER that may be coming….for now, my Boosters will be numerous Pints of Beer starting on Monday…hopefully ?

  18. If clubs can’t cope with the vaccine passport then capacities will be reduced to a level they can deal with.

  19. anybody else excited for the game? I’m flying over in the morning; pub, Celtic game, pub to watch All Ireland (The Curse vs The Virus) and back to the airport.

This is what happens when your opinion is countered by various posters but you’re too proud to accept you might be wrong. You feel you must defend your position to the point of getting ridiculous.

Aye it’s Celtic’s fault for not tying Edouard naked to a chair and connecting him to the national grid.

    Hilarious.

The fact that others disagree with me does not mean I’m wrong.

You maybe want to see if there’s a cult survivors group out there that can help you, because you’re still exhibiting a cult like groupthink mindset.

  23. PHILBHOY..

Sorry to read of your problem with Vaccine Online etc…but I cant see how you will be able to access the documents IF you do NOT have either date of your Jabs ?

I was lucky as I found the appointment letter for my 2nd Jab.

I should add that on that letter it advises that no one should contact their GP…as GPs can NOT provide info about Vaccine appointments ?

I wish you every success mate.
