Fragile limbs

The overwhelming request from an international break is that our players return injury-free.  Nir Bitton made an appearance as a second half substitute against Wales last night but left the field 18 minutes later, with a foot injury.

Nir is in the best form of his life and has carved himself out a deep-lying creative role in the Celtic team.  Central midfield roles don’t come up for grabs too often.  Two of our strongest players, Scott Brown and Stefan Johansen, compete for a small number of central midfield jerseys, although they are different types of players, so it’s important our Nir doesn’t spend too long on the side-lines.

Fraser Forster’s terrible knee injury last weekend was sickening.  The big guy is one of the most professional players in the game and is absolutely dedicated to his development.  His form in the FA Premier League this season has been sensational, recording more shutouts than any other keeper.

It’s a blow to Southampton too, who gave Celtic £10m for Fraser’s services seven months ago.

  3. I just watched video from the stand recorded during the game Montenegro v. Russia. It shows what happened before during and after the accident in which Akinfeev was injured. It’s more than 5 minutes long.

What is shocking, when the flare injures Akinfeev they stopped singing for a few seconds and then continue “support’ like there nothing happened.

Montenegro and Manchster City’s Steven Jovetic said: he had an impression like the Russians have been waiting all the time for the game to be abandoned.

According to the Montenegro Law, the guy who broght the firework that injured Akinfeev might be pinished with the penalty from 193 to 1 930 euros.

It’s third time similar happened in Podgorica. They did similar to Joe Hart in 2013. In 2013 Poland goalkeeper Przemyslaw Tyton was hit with the flare and then was the taget for missiles and lasers.

Haven’t seen or heard from Kilbowie Kelt in a while. Are you in contact with him?

  6. Went for Scotland at minus 6 (I know) at just 3/1.

McBookie promotion – if the bet’s unsuccessful they refund your stake (admittedly with a free bet rather than real cash).

Darkness descended over EK about 5 minutes ago and hailstones battering down. Those in lower East Kilbride – be warned!

    Bitton

It kept changing to Button at first so I suppose Britton was near enough.

  10. No worries, am sat here ( as Charlie Nicholas I would say ) channel surfing till football starts. I always thought the boy Britton was a decent player.

  11. If channel surfing is your thing….Virgin Media 243 , PBS America. The best documentaries on post 1900 history ….not withstanding the Ken Burns book of work on America from 1860 onwards.
