Keep our name out of it, Salmond

1113

I’ve heard some utter tosh from politicians over the years but never anything so blatantly untrue as the comments from our First Minister, Alex Salmond, reported today.  This clown is telling people Rangers need to be saved for the sake of Celtic.  He said:

“The most diehard Celtic supporter understands that Celtic can’t prosper unless Rangers are there. The rest of the clubs understand that as well. Therefore you have to have cognisance of these things when you’re pursuing public policy.

Keep our name out of it you incoherent fool.

If our prosperity depends on the survival of Rangers it’s time our values and priorities changed.  You of all people should know this after your lecturing last year.  Celtic have not been well served by their association with Rangers, nor vice versa.  As a combined entity, the ‘Old Firm’ have not been good for Scotland.

I’m keen to hear what his “public policy” on the matter is.  Salmond goes on to say:

“We’ve certainly been arguing to HMRC on one hand, and indeed to Rangers, to for goodness sake get a settlement, get a settlement and a structure over time whereby Rangers can continue because Rangers must continue for the future of Scottish football and for the fabric of the country.”

How dare you argue with HMRC?  Even Rangers admit the potential underpayment could be £75m.  How many nurses, teachers and policemen would that employ, Mr Salmond?  This is the true cost of his position.

This sorry business has nothing to do with Celtic, I hope our club make this clear to provocative politicians.  All you die-hard Celtic supporters out there better let this man know he has no right to speak for you.

“Fabric of the country”. He got that bit right, alas.

  1.  Renaming Murray Park

Right so I mentioned this in a thread yesterday and have done a wee bit more raking about to try get some more information to back my idea up.

The Fans should purchase the naming rights for Murray Park.

Whilst it won’t be the move which ‘saves’ the club I reallly feel it would be a way of providing a quick cash injection to the club and also removes Murrays name.

The Tennents deal is worth approx 1.5m per season to Rangers and the JJB deal is worth 3m approx per season. These aren’t large sums by any stretch (relatively) and having had a look at other naming rights deals within Scotland (Livingston in particular) then I don’t feel it would cost much.

Livingston sold the naming rights to their stadium for a ‘five figure sum over three years’ and also offer stand sponsorship for 5k a year. If we were to offer the club 100k – 250k per year to buy the rights to Murray Park then it could certainly be viewed as a good deal for the club.

The following is all entirely hypothetical and I have spoken to NO ONE about it. But please hear me out regardless.

50,000 people would pay £2/£5/£10 pounds a year into a ‘fund’ administered by a number of people. Lets say the RST, RSA and also a ‘figurehead’ (ex player, coach, even a celeb fan)

Each person would pay in the same amount. And would entitle them to one vote on what the new name for the training ground and would be chosen from the names of those in the clubs hall of fame.

Willie Waddell Training Centre or Wilton Lodge or whatever (this bit is kinda irrelevant just now)

A simple majority would win the ballot and would be the new name. This could be done over multiple years.

(50,000 x £5) x 4 years would provide £1million pounds in revenue for the club it would never have seen otherwise.

If that was to be 1 payment of £20 once a year for 4 years that would provide 4m.

Wile it may not sound like much (It might only pay Steve Davis’ wages for a year) It would help keep the everyday staff employed or be used for the maintenance of MP or Ibrox.

I appreciate this isn’t the most pressing of concerns just now but imo every idea is worth looking at just now. This is OUR club. It’s time to remind peopleof that.

    Ah – Liquidator —-

Nice — but my ears think –

The Tommy McCook and The Supersonics version[ Yew Records] is way way better .

  5.  Please Read — This Is Whyte’s Plan

Sorry but I believe this deserves attention

    Sccgers

The news I got tonight was not any better

Whytes game plan is to liquidate the club

New business name, new club name, new everything

Rangers FC as we know it now gone

What we get is the new Rangers FC 2012

Clubs pushing for sanctions, clubs pushing for temoval of our titles and being able to continue our proud history, no European licence and even having to re apply for our status – the tims, backed by Dundee Utd amongst others are going to push for us to be burried

    What we will have is

    We will be debt free

What Whyte gets is the chance to rid all debts – a chance to savage every outgoing of the club and make them viable

He then sells us on at a profit of millions which go’s to his pocket – all for one pound

Whyte had put in nothing – one token quid

He has taken millions which are unaccounted for

He plans to savage our first team squad

He has lied to everyone and has cheated since day one

    What happens now is crucial

A rescue package is being restructured by P Murray and A Johnstone – they are currently putting together a saviour plan to go to the administrator with a proposal – this is very real

Everyone is being contacted possible with money to put together a plan and thankfully people are ready to invest

This is our only hope of saving Rangers as we know it

Craig Whyte must be removed from our club – I cannot stress how important this is

Liquidation is the end game for a man with less shame and bluster than even those before him

When the time comes be ready to back Mr Paul Murray and company

The time is now – CW must be stopped and this is as serious as it will ever get – this is his end game

As for the title – I only passed on what happened and what I was told – like now

Despite accusations I don’t care what people think if then I’d never been back after passing on the Ellis stuff – everything is honest as it is now

On Saturday make it known and make yourself proud – get this man out of our club

Few years ago I was part of the protests to remove muir-Murray , radio newspapers the works

I currently working on a protest plan for Saturday but it is at early stages – We need to be heard – it may be nothing but I feel I have to do something

On a side note and something that hit home today – our manager and legend delivered a no surrender speech to our squad yesterday that had him in tears as he tried to keep us somehow together

We owe it to ourselves and our fine club to try anything we can

This is as serious as it gets – I cant stress it enough

Here we stand – we can do no other

Trevor Steven career went so Everton-Rangers-Marseille-Rangers

Everton valued him at £2m+, Rangers offered £500K, it went to a tribunal, RFC were ordered to pay £1.5m, 12 months later he went for treble that. Stank at the time, even more rancid now.

I wonder if that´s being investigated.

HMRC know who they are dealing with.

They have had years of dealing with his equally dodgy predecessor.

Whyte has shown himself to be dishonest and unreliable.

While arguing over two tax bills from HMRC, he fails to pay his current tax bill.

HMRC would be mad to enter into any arrangement with Whyte or the Administrators representing his interests.

Whyte is the type of guy who used to be exposed in a column in the Sunday Mail years ago. Maybe it still exists.

The Judge would expose double glazing firms that took orders and money then didn’t do the work or sent in clowns to install the wrong stuff.

Owner would then fold the firm and blame the economy, bad luck, the taxman (Hee Hee) or his mother-in-law.

He would drop off the radar and then reappear 3 months later selling the same crap to the same people with the same result.

    HMRC beware!!

  19. From today’s Evening Times

    http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/council-and-government-ready-to-aid-rangers-as-ex-mp-demands-probe-so-how-can-we-help-1.1148189

Tory councillor David Meikle is talking about assisting the rotten mob. Labour councillor Alistair Watson is quoted as saying that the council should facilitate the rotten mob’s survival. Wee Feck has already made his feelings clear.

As a Glasgow City Council Tax and UK income tax payer (like everyone else apart from bankrupt FC), I find these comments very illuminating. I shall certainly remember them when I next vote.

Actually, I don’t find them that illuminating. I always knew that establishment would circle the wagons.

Let’s aim for a hun free and socialist Scotland.

One where apparently an “independent” Scotland would be a whimsical place, full of rivers of chocolate, rainbows, and children laughing with gumdrop smiles, and no need to increase taxes to pay for it all – no, siree! The magic money tree will take care of it all.
