I’ve heard some utter tosh from politicians over the years but never anything so blatantly untrue as the comments from our First Minister, Alex Salmond, reported today. This clown is telling people Rangers need to be saved for the sake of Celtic. He said:
“The most diehard Celtic supporter understands that Celtic can’t prosper unless Rangers are there. The rest of the clubs understand that as well. Therefore you have to have cognisance of these things when you’re pursuing public policy.
Keep our name out of it you incoherent fool.
If our prosperity depends on the survival of Rangers it’s time our values and priorities changed. You of all people should know this after your lecturing last year. Celtic have not been well served by their association with Rangers, nor vice versa. As a combined entity, the ‘Old Firm’ have not been good for Scotland.
I’m keen to hear what his “public policy” on the matter is. Salmond goes on to say:
“We’ve certainly been arguing to HMRC on one hand, and indeed to Rangers, to for goodness sake get a settlement, get a settlement and a structure over time whereby Rangers can continue because Rangers must continue for the future of Scottish football and for the fabric of the country.”
How dare you argue with HMRC? Even Rangers admit the potential underpayment could be £75m. How many nurses, teachers and policemen would that employ, Mr Salmond? This is the true cost of his position.
This sorry business has nothing to do with Celtic, I hope our club make this clear to provocative politicians. All you die-hard Celtic supporters out there better let this man know he has no right to speak for you.
“Fabric of the country”. He got that bit right, alas.

Renaming Murray Park
Right so I mentioned this in a thread yesterday and have done a wee bit more raking about to try get some more information to back my idea up.
The Fans should purchase the naming rights for Murray Park.
Whilst it won’t be the move which ‘saves’ the club I reallly feel it would be a way of providing a quick cash injection to the club and also removes Murrays name.
The Tennents deal is worth approx 1.5m per season to Rangers and the JJB deal is worth 3m approx per season. These aren’t large sums by any stretch (relatively) and having had a look at other naming rights deals within Scotland (Livingston in particular) then I don’t feel it would cost much.
Livingston sold the naming rights to their stadium for a ‘five figure sum over three years’ and also offer stand sponsorship for 5k a year. If we were to offer the club 100k – 250k per year to buy the rights to Murray Park then it could certainly be viewed as a good deal for the club.
The following is all entirely hypothetical and I have spoken to NO ONE about it. But please hear me out regardless.
50,000 people would pay £2/£5/£10 pounds a year into a ‘fund’ administered by a number of people. Lets say the RST, RSA and also a ‘figurehead’ (ex player, coach, even a celeb fan)
Each person would pay in the same amount. And would entitle them to one vote on what the new name for the training ground and would be chosen from the names of those in the clubs hall of fame.
Willie Waddell Training Centre or Wilton Lodge or whatever (this bit is kinda irrelevant just now)
A simple majority would win the ballot and would be the new name. This could be done over multiple years.
(50,000 x £5) x 4 years would provide £1million pounds in revenue for the club it would never have seen otherwise.
If that was to be 1 payment of £20 once a year for 4 years that would provide 4m.
Wile it may not sound like much (It might only pay Steve Davis’ wages for a year) It would help keep the everyday staff employed or be used for the maintenance of MP or Ibrox.
I appreciate this isn’t the most pressing of concerns just now but imo every idea is worth looking at just now. This is OUR club. It’s time to remind peopleof that.

Ah – Liquidator —-
Nice — but my ears think –
The Tommy McCook and The Supersonics version[ Yew Records] is way way better .
What does Ian Durrant do at Rangers?
Might find out shortly!

Please Read — This Is Whyte’s Plan
Sorry but I believe this deserves attention
Sccgers
The news I got tonight was not any better
Whytes game plan is to liquidate the club
New business name, new club name, new everything
Rangers FC as we know it now gone
What we get is the new Rangers FC 2012
Clubs pushing for sanctions, clubs pushing for temoval of our titles and being able to continue our proud history, no European licence and even having to re apply for our status – the tims, backed by Dundee Utd amongst others are going to push for us to be burried
What we will have is
We will be debt free
What Whyte gets is the chance to rid all debts – a chance to savage every outgoing of the club and make them viable
He then sells us on at a profit of millions which go’s to his pocket – all for one pound
Whyte had put in nothing – one token quid
He has taken millions which are unaccounted for
He plans to savage our first team squad
He has lied to everyone and has cheated since day one
What happens now is crucial
A rescue package is being restructured by P Murray and A Johnstone – they are currently putting together a saviour plan to go to the administrator with a proposal – this is very real
Everyone is being contacted possible with money to put together a plan and thankfully people are ready to invest
This is our only hope of saving Rangers as we know it
Craig Whyte must be removed from our club – I cannot stress how important this is
Liquidation is the end game for a man with less shame and bluster than even those before him
When the time comes be ready to back Mr Paul Murray and company
The time is now – CW must be stopped and this is as serious as it will ever get – this is his end game
As for the title – I only passed on what happened and what I was told – like now
Despite accusations I don’t care what people think if then I’d never been back after passing on the Ellis stuff – everything is honest as it is now
On Saturday make it known and make yourself proud – get this man out of our club
Few years ago I was part of the protests to remove muir-Murray , radio newspapers the works
I currently working on a protest plan for Saturday but it is at early stages – We need to be heard – it may be nothing but I feel I have to do something
On a side note and something that hit home today – our manager and legend delivered a no surrender speech to our squad yesterday that had him in tears as he tried to keep us somehow together
We owe it to ourselves and our fine club to try anything we can
This is as serious as it gets – I cant stress it enough
Here we stand – we can do no other
Cameron on the News saying he wants Rangers to survive and thrive and hopes HMRC will work closely with them. The Masons are circling the wagons.H.H.

We both disagree with Humza Yousaf but at least he is engaging with us. I also told him that 185 jobs in Donaghys at an ave wage of £26k a week would cost £4.8m, half of what Rangers have avoided paying since May. No response yet.

Politians amaze me.
Now David Cameron has stated that he hopes Rankers can survive and thrive and that he hoped the HMRC could work with the club to help make this happen!
If this is there view then why in fcuks name are we all paying taxes?
In fact why do we even bother paying any bills that we receive?
This is just two twats dancing around each other trying to say the right things to the voting masses but surely they or their parties must see the stupidity of their statements!
Stunned, simply stunned!

Trevor Steven career went so Everton-Rangers-Marseille-Rangers
Everton valued him at £2m+, Rangers offered £500K, it went to a tribunal, RFC were ordered to pay £1.5m, 12 months later he went for treble that. Stank at the time, even more rancid now.
I wonder if that´s being investigated.
I wonder if that´s why mild mannered Trevor is now au fait with hun demise ?
Hail Hail
I got a text there saying Murray will buy rangers and take them out of admin, press conference at 15:30 and he will get them there 10pts back lol.
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
Will some nice CQNer call Gordon wiggy Smith, and let him
know what’s going on.
Thank you.
HMRC know who they are dealing with.
They have had years of dealing with his equally dodgy predecessor.
Whyte has shown himself to be dishonest and unreliable.
While arguing over two tax bills from HMRC, he fails to pay his current tax bill.
HMRC would be mad to enter into any arrangement with Whyte or the Administrators representing his interests.
Whyte is the type of guy who used to be exposed in a column in the Sunday Mail years ago. Maybe it still exists.
The Judge would expose double glazing firms that took orders and money then didn’t do the work or sent in clowns to install the wrong stuff.
Owner would then fold the firm and blame the economy, bad luck, the taxman (Hee Hee) or his mother-in-law.
He would drop off the radar and then reappear 3 months later selling the same crap to the same people with the same result.
HMRC beware!!

You appear to be an SNP sock puppet whose purpose is to win Celtic fans over to support for your party.
I suspect your efforts are being counter productive.
Keep up the good work.

Tory councillor David Meikle is talking about assisting the rotten mob. Labour councillor Alistair Watson is quoted as saying that the council should facilitate the rotten mob’s survival. Wee Feck has already made his feelings clear.
As a Glasgow City Council Tax and UK income tax payer (like everyone else apart from bankrupt FC), I find these comments very illuminating. I shall certainly remember them when I next vote.
Actually, I don’t find them that illuminating. I always knew that establishment would circle the wagons.
Let’s aim for a hun free and socialist Scotland.
And remember, there’e only one team in Govan…….. St Anthony’s!!!!!
The Battered Bunnet – What School of Economics did you go to Alex?
One where he learned that Scotland can be “independent” while simultaneously being subservient to the EU (ask the Greeks, the Irish, etc. how “independent” they feel now).
One where apparently an “independent” Scotland would be a whimsical place, full of rivers of chocolate, rainbows, and children laughing with gumdrop smiles, and no need to increase taxes to pay for it all – no, siree! The magic money tree will take care of it all.
So I think he went to Hogwarts. (thumbsup)

That is written from an administration professional’s (assuming she is not support staff) perspective.
Legally it is not so simple in practice.
Unless there is a buyer prepared to take a £100m hit, or HMRC take a hit, Rangers (in administration) will be Rangers (in liquidation).
LoL

Che, I’ve told you already that you do not know me or my political allegiances.
What I do object to is your inability to have an original thought and your persistent technique of passing off guesswork as fact. I have yet to come across a post of yours which is either original or interesting. You really are a waste of space.
OK, so that’s SNP, Labour and the Conservatives all calling for Rangers to be saved. United they stand.
Green Party it is.
Recycle the huns.
On their “assets”,
I thought that murray park has been sold to MIH and that they leased it?
The book value of asbestox might be £100m, but the real value is probably negative as the cost of the clean up would need to be met.
Anyone know?
Oh, and £49,000,000 = 13,000,000 portions of jelly and ice cream.

We need to find out a bit more on the Uefa -Fifa rulings re goverment interference in football business.
Come on bhoys get with the program.
Hun cannot pay the tax man back if he cannot play and qualify for European competition. In fact some would argue specifically the Champions league.
Huns CANNOT play in Europe if they owe 1 penny in tax….. even if David Cameron and Alex Salmond were to promise to do a naked floor show wile covered in gel it woudl not change the UEFA statues ONE LITTLE BIT
Any talk of a solution that will keep all partners happy is due to arithmetic ineptness.
Anybody who wants to run an economy CANNOT be arithmetically inept.
NOBODY CAN TALK ABOUT A VIABLE BUSINESS PLAN FOR THE HUN WHO IS NOT WILLING TO GIFT 75M POUNDS TO RANGERS

Is it just me or is anybody else concerned that the people writing these things have had their names and addresses published. If I was one I would ensure my doors were locked tight, we all know what thems are capable of.
I can’t gauge the feeling of other clubs supporters fully but I get the impression that any public bail out or thems seemingly getting away with years of cheating could have a worse effect on the state of the Scottish game than thems going bust, just a thought.
Jelly and ice cream
So their 3 major sponsor have come out with words of support for the hun..
Tennents..already on my blacklist and have been for years, rancid stuff.
JJB..already on my blacklist and have been since they whored themselves into bed with the huns..
Audi..i think im on their blacklist..

jmcgtimalloy,
Wasn’t Cllr Alastair Watson previously chair of Strathclyde Passenger Transport Executive? And wasn’t he one of a delegation that was in Manchester of the day of the UEFA Cup final, supposedly for a meeting?
And didn’t their Manchester equivalents later confirm that there was no meeting on that day?
Big fan of Salmond usually but you’re right he’s talking out his elbow here. I suspect he’s simply being political although how many Rangers fans vote SNP is questionable.
