SETTING FREE THE BEARS FOR RES. 12 & OSCAR KNOX on 6TH MARCH 2022 2:12 PM

You are on the “worth watching” list….

  2. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Immediately post-match after a win I like TRY to focus on the positives.

Particularly today after such a great victory against the backdrop of a doom laden build up.

… but I’m pointedly going to side with some posters right now about the singing.

    “Celtic” songs vs “non-Celtic” songs

“Political chants” vs “glorification of terrorism”

    … subjective stuff.

“Soon there’ll be no protestants at all” ?

    Nothing subjective about those words.

Crass, ignorant, mindless sectarianism that goes against the core values of the club as a unifying force.

    Disgraceful.

Not my views, i refer you the the post at 2.07 from Mr Celtic.

  4. Dessybhoy well said ….the world is not made up Celtic supporters …we have many many supporters Of other persuasions, and none, DITCH THE BIGOTRY….we welcome all….

  5. Played very well, got a well deserved win in a horrible Bogey pitch

Lets talk about the songbook FFs.

Thought Bitton, Starfelt, Jota & Forrest impressed,

I would have given Bitton MOM.

    Relieved & delighted.

Critical weekend, we have increased or goal difference by 1.

8 games left, 5 at Celtic Park.

Come on Celtic with the horrors of last Season & direct entry to Champion’s League this would be one of the greatest Title wins since we stopped the 10.

How do you know — have you asked them?

The GB songbook is just clearasil commandos on an ego trip.

Can’t sing them at home so the Away Day mob suit themselves.

They are not supporting the team when they sing about Garryowen fascists / ploughing / wearing green in a former Viking settlement / big hats / US small arms manufacturers / middle aged Dad’s Army types.

They sing for themselves not the team.

  7. quadrophenian on

Songs about bigotry and overseas paramilitaries.

Just brilliant eh. Same as when THEMS do their versions?

It’s a pure riddy and almost mars a good hoodoo-breaking result.

  8. The rest of the world sees events in Ireland differently to the way most of Scotland and the UK see them, and in so far as they are aware of the songbook the foreign players will be more sympathetic towards it than some of the eejits on here seem to be.

Your last sentence sums it up for me and , I suspect , for a large number of Celtic supporters .

  10. Good performance — played some great football and deserved a couple more goals.

The team / squad is still unsettled as you would expect after the number of new players coming in.

Also we are fragile and lose weak goals far too often.

Finally CMcG should not take another penalty.

He lacks both the confidence and the technical ability to do the job for a full time team.

He is playing really poorly at the moment so he should have been nowhere near it.

More stuff to add to the training ground routine.

  11. Fortress, Biton and Taylor have had their critics though all played well today

Will always take 3-1 at that ground

How would it be if they were singing about Jews or Muslims etc…

You have no defence and you now it.

  13. SETTING FREE THE BEARS FOR RES. 12 & OSCAR KNOX on 6TH MARCH 2022 2:12 PM

Sense of proportion required here. It’s a few over exuberant and over refreshed youngsters who’ve had an hour or two on the bus singing the rebs and got a bit carried away.

I don’t think there’s an anti Prod pogrom in the offing.

You’d be kvetching just as much about the songbook if that line hadn’t been sung, so save us the mock outrage.

  16. onenightinlisbon on

ERNIE LYNCH on 6TH MARCH 2022 2:24 PM

    No mock outrage.

So you agree with the line?

  17. EL @ 2.18

Surely the GB should be singing about tax gymnastics / tax evasion / tax avoidance if they wanted to offer comment on the present g=day situation in the 26 counties.

Stealing bread out of the mouths of poor Eu / US children so that you can keep the middle class gravy train going is never a good look.

No wonder too many want to wallow in the violence of the past rather than deal with the iniquities of the present.

  18. edward nygma on

    very nice victory.

well done to all involved. 👏

    banana skin avoided.

the songs stuff is lazy entitled immaturity.

support the old-firm by financing an old-firm plc

then whine about being pimped out to an

old-firm game in australia a country that puts its citizens in covid camps?

the league is very interesting our lead at the top is welcome.

  19. Really enjoyed that today.

    In their faces .

    More robust tackles (won) .

More tempo ( right through )

    More goals .

Great passages of play….Could’ve led to more goals .

We Jamsie looked fit and at it .

Big Bitton , well done big man ..(thought he might see red).

All round good team performance against a team we struggle with even at Parkhead . 💚🟩⬜🟨🍻

    BIG ANGE👍✔️

Hesgoal will no longer show EPL games, probably as a result of a threatened lawsuit. They give some paltry excuse about “respecting EPL rights.” Funny that. How about the rest of the worldwide games? The EPL is gouging out the maximum they can from all the Companies who have contracts with them.

As for McGregor and his pitiful penalties, I think that’s the fourth miss from him I’ve seen. I’m pretty sure he has also missed for Scotland ( and yes, also to the goalie’s left ).

  21. NB did well — all action performance and kept it under control.

Showed a lot of the quality that he does have.

    Hopefully it continues.

  22. As a regular giver of ‘constructive criticism’ to Greg Taylor, I am delighted to say that he had a belter of a game today.

Confidence to try a trick or two when Jota was marked and stood up to an increasingly physical challenge on his side

    Well done wee man

  23. Over refreshed youngsters — more like 40 year olds on a long leash.

Day out brigade ersewipes on an ego trip.

    Not good.

  24. glendalystonsils on

I sometimes wonder if the mask Callum is wearing affects his peripheral vision . He seems to be getting caught in possession more often than normally , by opponents coming in from the side .

    Just a thought .

  25. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

SFTB – Cheers. I hear you but, respectfully, the breakdown points won home and away by Livi? I’m aware of.

    My point was broader.

Livingstone are anti-football in the flesh.

They are, by far, the most .. ahem … “awkward” team in the league.

That “awkwardness” plays into the minds of their opponents to various degrees.

It bothers us lots. It doesn’t seem to affect Sevco at all.

The largest factor in that awkward opponent foundation is that pitch.

A pitch that doesn’t run true for simple passes

(They don’t pass – they just lump it)

A pitch on which those used to grass struggle with balance (often losing the contact as a result)

A pitch which injures those who play on it seldom … compared to those who play on it often (see studies in Rugby Union).

If they lost that pitch, they would lose the “awkward” tag and the mythology that has grown around it … and right quick …

… leaving nothing to rely on but talent ..

… Of which they have little.

  26. How many views of the ” Corner’ will we get to see.How many times does that happen, teams getting corners,or getting denied them?.All evens itself out, right? Not with us it seems.Good spot by Mc Fadden on the penalty, but that will still be controversial.

Huns will be spitting nails. So a good day all round.

  27. We have been through a lean spell but we seemed to get our Mojo back today,

    I’m buzzing after that,

This is the Business end of Season,

    Onwards & upwards.

  28. quadrophenian on

Hard for CCV to standout as MoTM when he’s so bloody consistent week after week.

Others form dips and improves so you see exactly when they’re being good or bad.

CCV’s quality control is impressive but it’s so understated.

We’ll be lucky to fend off other suitors for his signature. I hope he sees us and Ange as the perfect conditions under which to flourish.

  29. Anyone who thinks the GB control or dictate the songbook at away games really doesn’t have a clue.

  30. CORKCELT on 6TH MARCH 2022 2:33 PM

‘We have been through a lean spell but we seemed to get our Mojo back today,’

Best performance since the huns game. They had a point to prove and they were up for it.

I just hope the performance doesn’t dip again like it did after the huns game. They’ve got to keep fully motivated til the league’s won.

  31. AP and the old guard stepped up to the plastics , and gave arguably our best performance since Sevco were blown away in Parkhead.

Bitton Rogic Ralston Forrest and MacGregor ran Livi ragged and the scoreline could have been higher had we taken our chances not to mention Calum’s last penalty for the foresable future. Nir Bitton was immense in the midfield Rogic and Forrest excelled. With the back door manned by CCV and Starfelt it’s as tight as it’s been for years we have seven days to rest and rotate, before a treble quest which of course only Celtic could win.

The public scrutiny of every Celtic decision continues despite Sky’s loss of Steven Gerrard, methinks they doth use the Andy Walker rule book too much, they’ve become a parody of themselves when Celtic score gone in an instant are the days of ‘ these things even themselves out’

    Bye, bye bogey club CSC

    MOM Nir Bitton

  32. Great work rate from Celtic today. If you match the opposition thugs and bodybuilders , it only leaves them with a couple of footballers. A real statement of intent.

Soon there’ll be no Protestants at all.

With regards to those words, the census that is currently popping through letter boxes at the the moment will give an interesting indication of what faith, if any, Scots currently identify with.

I would also argue that soon there’ll be no practicing Catholics at all. How many at Livingston today partook of the Eucharist this first weekend in Lent ? I would hope that the answer would be many, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
