Ronny Deila is wasting his breath when trying to warn those who throw pyrotechnics that they damage Celtic’s reputation. That fact is already well established but is irrelevant to those for whom throwing pyrotechnics is part of their football experience.
There is a clash of culture here. ‘The Man’, whether that be Uefa or the Health & Safety Executive, forbids pyrotechnics at football, but the consequences are visited on Celtic, not those who bring the pyrotechnics. No one has been brave enough to put their name to the pyrotechnic culture and I suspect no one ever will.
The last 24 hours has been a huge success for this unclaimed culture; it managed to grab some of the little space alongside the David Bowie news on Radio 5Live this morning, and many other places, adding fuel to the fire, if you pardon the pun. Someone is glowing with an “I did that” sense of achievement, although, of course, he’d never say so openly. It will continue unless the consequences are moved away from Celtic.

First point us that the continuing use of flares has to stop. It really is a pain and a distraction.
Allows a lot of whatabouterry to be used to paint one “as bad as the other”.
Interestingly I recall many recent examples outwith Celtic in recent years.
Albion Rovers v Motherwell, Stranraer V Dundee Utd, Motherwell v Rangers, Dunfermline v Ross County on Saturday and, of course, them v us in the under 18s game.
Result/ action from the authorities – nada, zip. From the Press – next to nothing.
Yet with less than 24 hours of yesterday’s game there is talk of a disrepute charge being raised – the first since 2012 – which was also against Celtic.
The whole thing stinks when you consider the incidents above plus, of course, the bantery bigotted chanting repeatedly from fans of the Govan lot.
We has wee Chick wrongly tell us of a delayed kick-off to heighten things, the Evening Times Crime Reporter put an online article during the first half plus the usual mob all over us today with Tom English tweeting he can recall seven such incidents involving Celtic fans
I’m amazed our Board, who can ignore so many other Hun transgressions, have not yet released another root them out statement. It is their way, after all.
Yes, the idiots yesterday were just that; fools. But can we have some balance please. Then ban a few of these twats and name them very publicly.

I beg to differ, I saw them on the TV, and saw flame and smoke, I asked my mate this afternoon, and he said the same, very dangerous with young fans around, GB or who ever, ones as bad as the other and getting out of control, and I wouldent believe a word that comes out of any of there mouths, it would be better for Celtic FC and the rest of us if we just cast them aside, everything they do, comes with a price, and it has to be stopped right now, IMO that is.

PS my mate was at the game, right beside the Castlemilk banner, he had words with them and it got a bit heated, and his grandson got scared, so he had to back off, this guy is a hand lad, but as I say he had his grandson with him, but! His grandson isn’t going to Dundee as he said, and he has a very good memory for faces, unfortunately this is where this is going, they had better tread carefully .
Mind you…Im sure the authorities will be looking at the incidents yesterday, egged on by the hun media.
Papers up in arms about smoke bombs and flares…..but were not so bothered about the Celtic manager being sent a real one.

CELTIC Football Club today announced that it has identified three individuals connected with the use of pyrotechnics during the Club’s match against Stranraer yesterday (Sunday).
These individuals will be suspended indefinitely from attending Celtic matches and the Club’s investigations will continue.
Yesterday’s events have again caused embarrassment to Celtic and our supporters. On numerous occasions Celtic has stated its strong opposition to the use of pyrotechnics but regrettably again, a very small number of individuals, within a ticket allocation of 2,500, have damaged the Club.
We should be very clear. Those responsible simply do not care about our Club, our reputation or the safety of our fans and we do not want them at our matches. The Club will be reviewing its ticket allocation procedures to ensure that this matter is addressed.
Ensuring the safety of our supporters and staff is always of paramount importance to Celtic Football Club. If such behaviour was to continue, the reality is it would only be a matter of time before serious injury is caused. However, we will not allow safety to be compromised by the actions of a tiny minority.
We have been inundated again by our supporters following yesterday’s events and those fans can rest assured that this issue will be dealt with in the strongest terms. We cannot and will not allow this minority to destroy the magnificent reputation which our fans have earned over many years.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our supporters who travelled to Stranraer and positively supported the team. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Appreciating it was only Stranraer yesterday, the intro of Cole and Scott Allan took out some of the predictability that has been stuck with us recently.
An occasional HIGH ball to Cole or an occasional FORWARD pass from Allan.
Are Cole and Allan any better then those playing before? Only time will tell, but I think it does indicate if you change shape or tactics a little it can pay dividends.
