Scott Brown’s impressive body of work

271

If Scott Brown departs in the summer to join Aberdeen as Stephen Glass’ assistant manager, the body of work he will leave behind is beyond what anyone could imagine when he arrived at the club in 2007.  With 10 league titles, six Scottish Cup and six League Cup winner’s medals, his major trophy haul is greater than any Scottish club apart from Celtic and Oldco Rangers.  He is also one of the few in the modern era who could have gone to the top flight in England and chose to stay at Celtic.

He will be 36 in June and although his recent form has been as solid as ever, he no longer has the mobility to cover the ground he once did for Hibernian, Celtic and Scotland.  I will be sorry to see him go as he would be an invaluable resource to the new manager but the timing is probably right.  It would, however, be good to see him leave after raising the Scottish Cup one more time.

2020 saw us miss out on the CQN Charity Golf Open for the first year since 2005 (can’t remember why).  Ever the optimists, we have put Friday 23 July in the diary at our usual corner of Fife in the hope that by then the world will be a bit more sociable.  We will release more details as guidelines permit, but if you would like to attend, please email cqnopen@gmail.com .  Maybe see you there.

Still believe he has apart to play both on and off the park now and in the immediate future

This however is my own selfish opinion and if he decides to go then all the best in his new challenge

as for any future reception he receives @ Paradise i don’t think that’s in any doubt

    A true Celtic legend

‘I think that is more to do with poor governance that was endemic in banks’

Compare and contrast the banks’ treatment of Celtic and their treatment of the huns. That was nothing to do with a generalised poor governance of banks. That was due to systemic bias towards a particular culture in Scotland. That systemic bias would remain in an independent Scotland and would have greater influence than it has while we are part of the UK.

Still think he can play some part next year…..

But the poor governance happened whilst we were in the UK – including the initial real threat to close down Celtic prior to Fergus.

The ‘UK’ never checked the excesses of the senior individuals in Scottish Banks who hates Celtic and favoured Rangers – global commercial reality did that.

God rest the soul of my fellow Pole Kamil Charyszyn.

Murdered by orange bastards in front of his wife and child in Easterhouse. They tried to decapitate Kamil with a machete, because he was a Polish, Catholic, Celtic supporter.

The Polish community in Glasgow are in deep mourning tonight.

Sorry, but it wasn’t poor governance that caused the differential treatment. It was bias in favour of one culture and against another culture. That’s a Scottish thing. We both know it wouldn’t have happened like that if both clubs bank accounts had been controlled from London.

All good in the People’s Republic of Dalmuir.

Be careful tho’ the mob has been un caged their bravado only exceeded by their brutality.

  17. Hard to tell who is the most raging,Ruth Davidson,or the reporter on BBC1,that Wee Nic skated the vote today.Tories tried everything, and failed. The sham that is the Scottish Labour Party, totally insignificant. The result of supporting every Tory measure.Shame on them.At least you expect it from Tories.

  18. Has this murder been on Scottish BBC news.I have seen nothing. Is there conclusive evidence it was scum. Not in what I have been able to read.
