Watching players on the edge

1018

I like watching a professional perform on the edge. We watched Anthony Stokes do just that at the Cup Final, where despite two superb goals from Gary Hooper, he was clearly head and shoulders above everyone else on the field. This has not always been the way for Anthony, so has too often failed to command a starting place, and live up to the form he promised all those years ago at Falkirk.

Celtic have put a contract in front of him but it will be considerably lighter than the contract Hooper has no intentions of signing. It’s very much up to Anthony now. Deliver and the riches will follow. Don’t bet against him.

Only just catching up on the somewhat demeaning promotion of a football club hiring a new team bus. Every time I see the coach/manager at that club, buses, or to be more precise, Blakey, from On the Buses comes to mind. These people lend themselves to parody so unselfishly.

Coach/Manager

Inspector Blakey

The fascinating part is, only one of the two above was trying to be ridiculous. You enjoy another day of being a Celtic fan.

  3. I got a good view of the tear gas incident at Hibs. After the canister had been lobbed , the Hibs fans flooded onto the pitch to get away from the gas . The Celtic hooli’s (maybe 15) went onto the pitch too and got involved in some skirmishes . As order was being restored the casuals tried to take their place back in the Celtic end only to be hunted and told to GTF by the Celtic good guys. The Edinburgh police had to escort them from the stadium .

The following week after an outcry in the press the police had a manhunt to track down the culprits that they had set free .

    No, no BT package.

And one for the road Auldheid, I hope somebody can answer the question… Why?

Why are Scotsmen and Scotswomen allowing themselves to be ridiculed and reviled by the prejudices and biases of delinquents they would not wish to share a pavement with.

Slowly but surely Scotland is becoming a laughing stock, sportingly, ethically, morally, socially. We are too wee for anybody other than ourselves to get concerned about.

  8. DontPatmadug, They have bought ESPN who share the SPL coverage with Sky.In Ireland we used to get ESPN free with Sky that stops Aug 1st. Not sure if this applies to UK.

Great news re Oscar – really cheering

Also read the stuff about the Casuals. Not welcomed by the support in the 80s or 90s , I always thought they were thought a joke by the other ‘firms’ – turning up for a fight in Edinburgh and checking that where they are going to meet up with the Hibs Casuals sums them up.

I’ve subscribed for a few years now. (PC) I also subscribe to Setanta Austalia, (TV) which also shows a lot of the games. I only subscribe to Setanta so my inlaws and guests can watch the game, or other sports, on a decent screen. I personally don’t have a lot of time for Setanta so I watch my games of Celtic TV on my PC. It is not the best by far but for what I pay, it is worth it. If it were not for others I would not give Setanta a penny.

The problem is you will only get all of the games shown on TV if you have both Sky and BT. The thing I do not know is what sort of package BT have in regards the SPL.

I believe BT are showing some sevco games on Friday nights.

I have a link to a thing/site called XMBC. Allows you to stream games with very little buffering and no pop ups. Would put link up but may upset some :)).

Just google XMBC. Wee bit of messing about setting it up but definitely worth it

I remember reading a book once, I still have it somewhere, but I’m buggered if I know where it is. The book was about the world’s most expensive ‘drink driving’ case. It was about the Exxon Valdez and how they tried to blame a lowly seaman for all the harm that was done.

I can’t remember who eventually went to jail for the Exxon Valdez running aground.

  27. I was stood about 5 yards away from the guy who threw the CS gas canister at Easter Rd that day.

The Celtic casuals didn’t go over the fence to then start fighting but simply because they hadn’t taken into account the wind direction which blew the gas back towards the Celtic end!!
