Watching players on the edge

1018

I like watching a professional perform on the edge. We watched Anthony Stokes do just that at the Cup Final, where despite two superb goals from Gary Hooper, he was clearly head and shoulders above everyone else on the field. This has not always been the way for Anthony, so has too often failed to command a starting place, and live up to the form he promised all those years ago at Falkirk.

Celtic have put a contract in front of him but it will be considerably lighter than the contract Hooper has no intentions of signing. It’s very much up to Anthony now. Deliver and the riches will follow. Don’t bet against him.

Only just catching up on the somewhat demeaning promotion of a football club hiring a new team bus. Every time I see the coach/manager at that club, buses, or to be more precise, Blakey, from On the Buses comes to mind. These people lend themselves to parody so unselfishly.

Coach/Manager

Inspector Blakey

The fascinating part is, only one of the two above was trying to be ridiculous. You enjoy another day of being a Celtic fan.

I think 4-5 went on trial at the High court for that; the guy whp provided it and the guy who threw it got heavy sentences.

I read that John O’Kane book, poor stuff. The rumour that day-or so he says-was that someone was going to throw a grenade.

Meant to say, connect your pc to your tv to share match with family/pals.

You can upgrade to Premium if you haven’t got that. I found Premium to be worth it.

I believe the canisters were brought back from an away game in Dortmund.

Frightening experience all round but I do remember that the victory that day took us to the top of the league!

BT Sports are simply taking over the ESPN offering IE 30 SPL games this season and 10 SFL games.

It effectively means that you will still need to have Sky & BT Sports to see all the Celtic games that are shown live on TV. Oh, plus Premiers Sports if you want to see the pre-season games. Grrrrrrrrr.

BT Vision has been supplying Sky Sports 1&2 but if you don’t have BT Infinity/Fibre Broadband you lost them on Friday when Sky switched them off.

In other news, no one will be covering any “Old Firm” games this season.

So, it’s not all bad news!

  9. How did Celtic get to their training camp in Bavaria?

Not by bus, because we don’t have one!

I remember the infamous gas canister game. There was a huge Celtic support through for the match , easily the biggest in Edinburgh since the early 70s. Team played well – Macca got the winner- against a well up for it Hibs team. There were more Celtic fans in the home end than Hibbies – as with the Dundee game when we won the league the exact stadium capacity turned up for a pay at the gate match. I remember those gits getting the police escort in front of the Celtic fans. They looked very very scared

    In relation to Jelavic

“I believe we have a 15% sell on clause. Everton are looking to bring in Kone and Jelavic was off the boil second half of last season.

If they sell the big man will we still get the 15% as its been proven in a court of law we are the same club.

Could be a nice little earner for us seeing as we sold him for less than he was worth.”

    ………………

What court of law was that then…..dearie me….stupid is stupid….

  17. Evening TET!

Not sure about that one. They sold Jelly pre-Admin……… pre-Liquid…….. therefore sell-on clause would either be null & void or anything due would go to the oldco (creditors pot).

I think = I sincerely hope so just to annoy them.

I see the matches against der germans are being shown live in the columba club in blantyre

Anyone fancy a wee cqn summer session

  19. Must say I think casuals is a strange name to be calling scumbags. Casual to me conjures up images of relaxed easy going people. The first time I heard the phrase used was after an Old Firm game when we skelped the Huns 3 nil,I was in the Toll Booth when a brick came through the window. When I was leaving the pub I asked the bouncer outside what happened, ah he said with a smile just a couple of casuals. I walked up Argyle Street shaking my head.

  20. hate the way Scottish football is sold for a pittance. in order to get crap coverage of Scottish football you need to get sky, then sky sports then B.T vision.

its about time Scottish football looked into its own t.v channel and cut out all the middle men, one channel, one product at one fixed price per month its not to much to ask. it might just deprive the EPL of its overall income from Scotland, fuck even 5% would make a dent, any rise in our t.v income, no matter how little would go some way to cease the money train to England.
