If we’re going to estimate prices I suspect ST holders will be in the region of £100, non-ST will be something like £125.
I base this on historical 3-match package prices, the highest being £97 (Rangers were also on the CL that season and charged £110) and the fact the board consider the match against TRFC to be worth £49 to non-ST.

Many thanks for your answer. It is the best explanation yet for the term troll in many years on CQN.
IMO many people use the term in a lazy fashion, when they cannot be bothered to argue and debate the points rationally. It is the easy, indeed lazy option in many cases.
I still think this blog is the best Celtic blog by a country mile. One of its finest traits is its diversity. Imo, terms like calling Fellow Celtic fans a Cancer, parasites, cowards, fascists even loonies etc, etc have no place . Dissapointing to put it mildly.
I totally agree today’s blog should all be about Celtic, and how we are heading back to where we belong.
Again, many thanks for your excellent detailed reply.. Appreciated.

So this may not be as bad for us as we first think. Time will tell!
This explains the changes to the CL format. Disgraceful that 4 countries have 4 guaranteed entrants.
Beneath that, some positives for us:
The Champions qualifying route will remain (some papers are crediting Peter Lawwell for being one of the people to defend this) and the Country co-efficient will be changed so that a club stands on its own merits rather then inheriting a high co-efficient just because other clubs from that country did well/badly in the past.
Also a mention of this “Historical success in the competition will also be acknowledged in coefficient calculation (points for previous European titles with a weighted system for UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League titles)” Hope this goes back 50 years at least.

I assume qualification for Celtic will be harder in the CL as there will be less teams coming through the qualifiers.
32 teams 16 from the top 4. Automatic qualification from France, Holland, Russia, Portugal, Ukraine and maybe a couple of others doesn’t leave much leeway for the rest of the leagues.
_____________________________________
The reality is that Borussia Monchengladbach, Villareal and Man City all qualified; Roma had a mare and went out, so it didn’t make any real difference to our qualification chances as none were in the Champions route. However, taking Borussia, Villareal man City and Roma (sic) out of the no-champions route *may* make it a bit easier for the better teams to qualify. Time will tell.

I don’t think the other 16 will all be champions. I’m pretty sure the champions of France, Turkey, Russia and Holland etc already qualify automatically.
The champions from the smaller countries still play eachother through a champions route then not a lot has changed for Celtic. We won’t be up against a Lyon or Ajax to qualify for instance, these teams will go through the league play offs.
Today’s news doesn’t change a lot for Celtic imo. I could have been far worse had the wild cards been approved.
You are right; it adds another team each for England, Germany and Spain; and 2 for Italy. So 5 other champions (Turkey, Belgium etc.) will drop off the bottom and we most likely avoid them early on as seeds.
Until the full access list comes out in a few months, we are speculating.

The top nations getting four places more or less happens now e.g. Man City through via play off 6-0 scoreline.
With the Champions’ route still open and with individual co -efficents etc, I do not see any great difference – we may even benefit slightly.
I am sure Peter would have been ‘batting’ hard for us – perhaps some reports might filter out.
The CL is where we must be, at least every other year – that is why getting a reputation as serial rule-breakers is not a clever thing to aspire to.
I will not be ‘standing up’ tomorrow – but with my season ticket, which I have upgraded throughout the last seventeen years, and my not unregular use of other facilities at CP – I ALWAYS stand up for Celtic FC and will ALWAYS call out those who use our name to further their own ends.
We are a football “club like no other” – not a political platform to be hi-jacked by minority sub-groups. HAIL HAIL.
