Pompey Bhoy,
Apologies for the earlier spelling, but according to wikipedia on my computer James Forrest has played 60 games ( I’m guessing 61 after tonight) scoring 13 goals. Am I missing something?
Italiabhoy – of course it’s unfair to label all Italian teams, but why we should cut some slack to one of the most blatanty cheating clubs in world football?
They are the Huns of Italian football, but they have somehow managed to work their way back to the top of the pile.
I look forward to seeing them get gubbed in the Quarters.
Last 16 for me also……daft as it may sound, this gives us a chance of getting in to the last 8. Also better calibre of opposition and bigger money for the pot and also better coefficient points, which let’s face it, for the foreseeable future can only benefit us.

First time poster after lurking a long time, and after a result like that and a few drinks I am a bit hesitant about getting involved but sure here goes.
I think we played well, for long periods we made Juve look ordinary. At this level, however, converting middle third possession into killer chances is key and we just didn’t do that, a problem we’ve had in the domestic game too. A lot will be said about big Efe, he had a mare, however I believe he is one of our most outstanding talents. Neil took a chance, it didn’t work out.
On a separate issue, enforced by listening to KC’s interview and his thoughts on the refereeing, I believe simply that a so called lesser team will never be allowed to win anything when the “e

Can’t help but think Sammi would have bust the net with the headers vic and effe had tonight.
We beat barca without brown and hooper, spartak without Wanyama.
Tonight was a step to far without our silken haired talisman.
Extra time over there. Through on pens. :-)

Stringer Bell – I hope you are right and we give them a feckin fright in Turin….they deserve it! It would be too much to hope for a turnaround, but I’d love to rattle them good and proper.
One of the things really sticking in my craw tonight is that we let that shower sully our home CL record. Far better teams came to CP and couldn’t get the win….Bayern, Milan, Mancs, etc., but that mob left Glasgow with a 3-0 win tonight. Bollox!

Agree. Got to be the last 16.
It’s a tough school mind, they play by prison rules.
We will get older and wiser.

Very dissappointing result tonight. Bad decision by Neil to play Ambrose – no idea what he was thinking. The 3rd goal was a goal waiting to happen all season. Effe is far too casual and unaware of what is around him. We have seen the same type of break out of defence from him many many times this season already but he was never punished due to lack of class in the SPL. Tonight was different – Juve are a clinical, professional team and did what they came to do. The first goal definitely helped them coming so early. Also dissappointed with young James. Yet another chance for him to shine and he squandered it.
Yet another hard lesson for us but it is tough to see how we can improve playing in our environment. It was a good run. I hope we don’t get embarrassed over there.
Here’s to the double and another shot at this next year

Just home from the game. Strange feeling coz I thought the Bhoys played well and I can’t compute our performance with a 0-3 defeat.
Shocking referee , absolutely gutless .
Just glad to be a Tim and glad that we don’t play the way of the cynical Italians. If u need to employ these tactics to go further in the Champions League, they can keep it!!
Jock Stein did it by playing beautiful football, Juve are the opposite of that .

I watched the game on ITV and made a rule–win, lose, or draw, I was heading out for a pint or three. I did that, and there was not a person in that bar who didn’t think Celtic weren’t a proper football team. NL is 3 years into managemanship. Think of what he’s had to endure–and the club/supporters as well.
Italian teams are an experience to savour and learn from. NL will do that. The difference tonight was experience v love of football. Plus the team against Celtic cost at least 10 times more. Proud?—You bet!!

Sorry, hit post before I meant, ( what a start), simply, let Kelvin or Efe copy the physical stuff at corners in Turin and we’ll see a different outcome

Kinda felt the same as that night.
On reflection though, it wasn’t even close to being the same as that night.
We were good tonight. for a while.
They defended well, but we should have seen enough to make them think over there.
I just hope we rattle them for a bit.

Welcome and good points.
Agree we struggle for creativity in the last third both in Europe and against teams in the SPL. I thought this season we would have the freedom to play a creator, we have played three defensive midfielders at home against the likes of Kilmarnock and got beat. Theres no explanation for that.
Is it the one that involves Bartin main, a frightened goat tethered to a wooden post, a pair of marigolds and a 500ml tub of swarfiga……..I do so hope it is this one :-)
He didnt miss the wan he headed into the net at Tannadice.

you’re right…the top number in wiki is 60 and 13 goals. However further down in the article it gives a breakdown of all appearances which reads 59 league matches (missing a match and a goal somewhere), 6 Scottish Cup, 5 League Cup, 17 Europe…total of 87. Scotland caps at full, u21 and u19 add another 24.
Anyway, I guess my point was that he’s played enough games to expect to see more progress that I’m seeing. As I said, I don’t get to see as many games live as I’d like to so fully admit that maybe I don’t get to see the full picture.
Hopefully he’ll prove me wrong over and over again between now and when we lift the Scottish Cup to complete the double.

We missed Sammi tonight…..and those Juve strikers know where the goal is when they get a chance …..proud of the bhoys …….. Not impressed with Juve’s tactics or behaviour at all…… No wonder Italian football has been in the doledrums for a few years now……
When are we going to learn how to heed the baw into the net..??
Hail Hail to a wonderful European adventure this season…….if we get this far in the seasons to come, I will be delighted

Keep your eye on that referee, he will go far.
He knew what was required as soon as he heard Platini’s comment weeks ago.
Please dont tell me dallas was the soupervisor in the stand.
So, an open question.
Does anyone wish we had finished third in the group, and went into Europa cup? It’s more our level, and we have a far better chance of succeeding..
Before we started the campaign, Europa cup was my ambition. I thought we could get the best of both worlds (money and success).
Now, I would not swap the last 4 months for anything.
Beat tonight, and oot as well.
Doesn’t matter. We have made progress and increased the stock of Celtic worldwide.
Man utd got horsed at home by Real, and away by Barca. Seriously pumped.
We will learn and grow.
Lenny rolled the dice tonight, and it didnt pay off. It happens.
I think we will give them hell in Italy.
Well done Celtic. You’ve made us proud this season.
Uefa Stats:
