  1. Go tell the Spartim on

Abject, insipid, gutless, piss poor from management thru to the team. NFL interview, talked shite.

This is more than about the ten, this is about how many will renew next year if we don’t get the ten, people just don’t have the money despite their loyalty, we lack the ability to pay attention to how the game is going and to tweak or change things during the game, in this current pandemic I wouldn’t want anyone to lose their job and im not advocating a knee jerk reaction, but he needs to sort it soon, as whether it would be true or not winning or losing the league will be all on him.

First place to start would be to stop talking shite in interviews, get a settled formation and defence and take it from there.

  2. Conor Goldson said in post match interview that they had been working on their system for the past two seasons and the organisation showed. I’ve watched some of their games in Europe and have been impressed so let’s not bury our heads in the sand. Our play was slow and pedestrian in contrast to Rangers first touch passing. Ironically Goldson was a former teamate of Shane Duffy at Brighton and gave him a bit of ribbing when he moved to Celtic. I think young Welsh looks a good prospect and was impresse with Laixalt. There’s still a longh way to go so Celtic have to rise to a challenge that has not been there for years.

  3. Never been as disappointed in a signing as Duffy, just watchin it back and he hitting attempted passes 30ft into the stand..

It is indeed a team game, arguably the original rangers had a better squad going for 10, fortunately we had a better team. Hope history doesn’t repeat itself

    I’d tend to agree

Which worries me as I doubt there is the appetite for intra season change

  6. I started watching Celtic regularly from about 1958, a period often so eloquently described on CQN by Tontine Tim. I know what it means to be beaten by the deid team. Growing up, it was the norm. I have seen us hammer them and still get beat, by the likes of Goram’s heroics. Today was different, I feel.

I never approach those games without the nerves jangling but it was worse today. In times past, no matter the result I have normally felt we had tried. I didn’t feel that today. There was no TEAM out there. There was no SPIRIT. There was no point where I actually felt we were going to win. The players didn’t seem involved, as a team. It didn’t seem to matter to them. That is pure conjecture on my part and maybe quite wrong but that is the impression I had.

Where does the responsibility lie in all this? With the manager, imo.

  7. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Robertressel @ 2:47pm – very good points.

Right now – after losing 2-0 to a team who did nothing more than a high intensity full length training session – those details can get lost in the malaise we are ALL caught up in.

If we were slightly sharper as a unit?

Moi scores and Godson’s second doesn’t go in.

If we were sharper and better drilled?

Goldson doesn’t score at all. Griff does.

    Over to you Celtic.

    Hail hail

The only Celtic manager that has admitted defeat before a match commenced was Brendan Rodgers (pre champs league qualifier). He should have been sacked on the spot Neil Lennon admitted defeat today in a pre match interview with Radio Scotland. Crying all week about Ryan Christie did us no favours but that pre match interview said it all. Perplexing to say the least.

Something not picked up on so far was the absence of John Kennedy by Neil Lennon’s side. Left muttering on his own was not a pretty sight.

It’s only October and there’s everything to play for, Let’s hope it was an off day due to a seriously depleted squad.

  10. Will Ajeti be match fir for Xmas…how long does it take to get this guy fit? Never heard the like!

  11. some on here said prior to the game , win the midfield and we win the game , dearie dearie we had 6 against them’s 3 and still got hammered.

    Lennon post match interview.

“We had some good chances we didn’t take, that’s the game in a nutshell”

    “Lacked experience out there today”

“Huge factor, the number of changes we had to make”

“Ajeti, Griffiths Eduard not fit enough to start the game”

“Should have been level at half time, given us a foothold in the game”

    “Ran out of ideas”

    “Welsh played really well”

“No idea who will be available against Milan”

    Aye Neil….

  13. ExSlaemuirBhoy on

Ffs can we stop all the clique gash, I think we’ll win the league and that’s without being in any clique, if some guys agree with certain others that’s fine, it’s called opinions. Root out any huns mind,on here and I’m happy. We are going for a 4th consecutive treble ffs

  14. In 1994 David Murray wanted celtic liquidated. celtic had a debt of £5m.

In 2012 Dermot Desmond and Peter lawwell wanted a liquidated rangers kept in the premiership. Rangers owe £170m. Desmond and Lawwell were thinking about their dividends and bonuses. it has always been about money for these people. They didn’t care that rangers had been cheating for years.

Lawwell has been a abject failure.

I don’t blame neil lennon and I don’t blame the players. They are doing their best and if their best isn’t good enough it is not their fault.

The fault lies with the people who run our club.

Bankers and accountants do not make good leaders of football clubs.

Time for a change at the top.

  15. One nightinlisbon

    Unfortunately I agree.

Only way he goes though is if he walks.

We would have to fall much further behind before change, the situation sucks.

Slow car crash we have to watch.

  16. People who blame Lennon and the coaches today must surely have know the limitations they had before today.

    This all rests with Lawwell.

He appointed a pal, another pals son and a guy who sadly had to retire due to injury, to coach and manage us.

The old board used to do things like that.

  17. So who do we replace NFL with?

    Asking for a friend.

First time in my 45 years I have not felt confident going in to a game, no matter the opposition.

Told my dad last night the same thing.

Our management team sit slouched in dugout all the time. NFL saying he isn’t a big tactics guy. Interviews after games this season have been bizarre at best.

Neil doesn’t look happy or well. Can’t blame the man but it has finally got to him. He’ll be remembered a great combative midfielder and a man that suffered abuse, threats and assaults you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy but he’ll never be remembered as a great coach or manager of men.

As someone said earlier. We have the Ferrari of a team compared to the rest of the league yet we continue to struggle and see the weirdest lineups, formations and performances, bereft of drive and flair.

    It isn’t right.

  18. WESTCRAIGS:

The Celtic board gave this manager £16 million plus to spend in the last window. Peter Lawwell did not instruct the players today to play a rigid system that mean nobody challenged for a ball if they weren’t within 6 yards of it. Dermot Desmond did not make like-for-like substitutions at 2-0 down.

Those guys did, however, hire Neil Lennon without interviewing or even considering another candidate.

The blame stretches in many directions … but the guy in the dugout today was responsible for that shambles. If you want to question his hiring, that’s a different issue … but this one’s on him.

With the greatest respect, I disagree with your every word.

I also believe ending a post with KTF or HH is part of the problem. It denies what is right in front of us. I note you have used both!!

‘Is ANYONE confident of winning the league?’

    ###

Depends on whether it runs the full course. If it does I think we’ll win it.

The problem is that I’m not sure whether the Club’s owner is too bothered either way. Either outcome might suit his long term objective.

  22. When we beat them in the LCF we were poor apart from big Fraser.

On Dec 29 we said we couldn’t play any worse – we did

    Déjà vu

  23. glendalystonsils on

I also feel sorry for the GB who made that huge effort yesterday and today , to lift the team in the absence of fans .

Or maybe , watching the team in recent weeks they were worried enough to pull out all the stops .

  24. Rangers are a 7/10 team and they have been well coached, by Beale and McAllister, to deliver this on a consistent basis. Kudos to Gerrard for his recruitment in this area.

the majority of our 1st team squad want to play 4-2-3-1, it has made most of them better players and won them trophies. We stumbled into 3-5-2 last season and it worked against the dross of the SPL, this prompted Lennon to recruit this summer for this shape.

Duffy, Ajeti & Laxalt, all brought in specifically for this shape. All 3 arrived unfit for top level football, all 3 straight into the team, without the need to earn their place, or understand their team-mates.

Of our subs today, Griffiths, Rogic and Ajeti all clearly not at a basic level of fitness. What does that say about our standards in training when everyone knows this? In Griffith and Rogic’s case, this has been a feature of the last 2 years.

Our best players want to play a different system to the manager, they can see no progress personally or as a team. Our standards have dropped to the level where a 7/10 team can comfortably beat us.

I think we got lucky last season, unless we want to rely on the dice again, something needs to change.

  25. LETS ALL DO THE HUDDLE

You might be right but other than Barišić, Kent and maybe the goalkeeper I can’t think of any Rangers player that gets near our first team.

    They’re better coached.

  26. Win the midfield win the game, we have done neither.

I said it before and will say it again, our coaches can’t see what is staring them in the face, dreadful coaching.

We have been pish all year, grinding out results where we should be blowing teams away, scunnered and embarrassed, thank eff I don’t have to listen to the crap like those who are surrounded by the scum.

  27. ExSlaemuirBhoy on

It’s only October folks , seen the “we beat Celtic ” medals dished out before. Didn’t end well for thems

  28. Drivel. Good word. Except when it describes how we played today.

Two opportunities is all we had and we squandered both.

As soon as we went 2 down the changes should have happened. Turnbull on for Ntcham, Griff for Moi.

Thought Laxalt did ok after an over enthusiastic start. Looks like he has a good cross.

Poor choice by Duffy to drop back and put Goldson onside.

Didn’t think they troubled us very much. In fact, both teams were very average.

At least I believe we can get better. And we need to. No white flag hoisting or towel chucking from me.

  29. Just logging on so I have no idea of the posts before this one of mine.

My post to another Celtic website a few minutes after the game, so not influenced by anger or drink or anti Lenny stuff.
