    I wouldn’t call it a conspiracy, though in law it might reach the nod and a wink threshold. More of a long sighted business strategy, albeit undocumented, and arguably in the best long term interests of the plc. Take a relaxed attitude to winning the ten while pretending to try. Probably only two people need to be in the loop. Best way of doing it is to have a dysfunctional management/coaching structure. Ideally people who’ve never worked with each other and don’t get on personally or professionally.

     

     

    Give it a shot, hope it works, if it doesn’t and the 10 is achieved, ach well, you did your best in a difficult situation, and we’ll just have to make the best of it.

     

     

    No worse, no more disingenuous, no more offensive than the 5 way agreement or the Res 12 treatment.

    Saw a bit of that Alice Roberts programme and will try to catch the rest of it, if only to see if she gets her shoulders out. She normally does.

     

     

    But it reminded me of that old saying ‘the Clyde made Glasgow and Glasgow made the Clyde’ and on a similar note I’d say the huns made Lawwell and Lawwell made the huns. He had an easy ride at Celtic when they spent their way to insolvency and in their current format they’re having an easy ride from him as he oversees their rehabilitation.

     

     

    History will not be kind to him.

    Long term planning. Having them around as genuine competitors provides a degree of security, whereas CL qualification is fickle at best.

     

     

    Getting into the EPL or a euro league is also more likely as The Old Firm.

    Turkeybhoy 11 :30 re the board wanting sevco to win is not as far fetched as it seems, all it takes is for the manager and possibly his assistant to be on board.

     

     

    When tango and sash were in charge of their clubs , one of their former players said prior to any game tango was right up to date with tactics before they left the dressing room, however when playing deidco all he would say was to go out and enjoy themselves and to remember they needed the points more than them.

     

     

    No as hard as it looks.

    Fully concur with you there Ernie Lynch 12. :10, completed enough cost benefit analysis tae suggest our board would have been remiss not to have done one.

     

     

    I hate tae say it but nae sevco and Scottish fitba collapses. We might win this years SC but that will be it for this season.

     

     

    As I have said more than a few times when we last lost our bid for TIAR we were top of theLeague at New Year, won 3 Cups that season just age and poor goal keeping done us in.

     

     

    This season we have went breest up right from the start of it.

    GFTB indeed he has focused on his KPI’s , which is normal for CEO in business and he has been handsomely rewarded for the one horse race

     

     

    But football is not a normal business and we should have had opportunity to grow our football department with top coaches and ideas and player development, no point having players and poor coaching set up

    we suffer every transfer window waiting till last minute , which results in no CL and massive loss of income

    Time for a reality check:

     

    1. To suggest that the Board is somehow contriving for rangers to win the league to avoid insolvency is Trump-like in its delusion. As someone pointed out it would require the collusion of manager, players and coaches – and like all conspiracy theories the test is can such a large and varied group be controlled? No! It is simply not possible.

     

     

    2. NL won’t quit as he’ll lose too much money so he’ll wait for the Board to sack him and take his compensation – the smart move for someone in his position. SO don’t waste energy asking him to leave. I don’t think he is in the position of being able to walk away from a significant sum of money. This is likely to be his last big job a a manager. He probably deserves his compensation for the way he has been treated.

     

     

    3. Sacking NL is only meaningful if the coaches and scout are sacked too and that is not a foregone conclusion. Pressure would be put on anyone with a Celtic connection to keep existing set up.

     

     

    4. Almost no one whose voice we hear in the media and that includes the Board, the players, journos understand the relationship between Celtic and a large share of its supporters – it’s about more than football, it’s about ethnic identity and that accounts for the rivalry between Celtic and rangers. But for most supporters whatever their ethnicity it’s about ambition. It’s not just fear of losing the 10IAR it’s about regressing in Europe when we should by now be having a fair shot at knockout round in CL every year and latter stages of EL. Other clubs with much smaller fan base and resources can do it. Celtic has a European pedigree it’s not pie in the sky to want to taste that kind of success again – of course I don’t mean winning the CL but being properly competitive.

     

     

    5. To lose 10IAR surely must be the start of a dramatic change in Celtic’s setup – if it transpires the fans should demand big changes by refusing to buy season tickets and merchandise and a big campaign should be mounted to get the whole thing sorted out and a new Board installed.

    Good post, but please note that the conspiracy theory would not necessarily include the players

     

    ( too many, with risk of confidential leaks) or even the management team. At a minimum, the majority shareholder and CEO would suffice. Make an underwhelming manager appointment, and Voila!! If he makes the ten, well and good. Lots of merchandize sales, and season tickets continue to boom. Lose spectacularly, the more likely scenario, and the Evil Empire have their lifeline, which we underhandedly acquiesced in previously, and the RES 12 lads have the evidence to prove it. The more our manager sabotages our chances with ridiculous team selections and substitutions, and no visible tactics, and the longer the Board gives him to do it, the more this Machiavellian theory will fit.

     

    Do I believe it? I don’t know, but I do know we have previous.

    Imagine a CEO being so utterly negligent in his duties as to keep a failing manager in post out of nostalgia.

     

     

    Maybe that’s bs, maybe Lawwell genuinely hasn’t a clue and is keeping Lennon because he thinks our form will turn.

     

     

    Whatever the case is, Lawwell clearly is lacking judgement.

    The entire Celtic world that WE, ALL OF US live in….is looking like it’s about to collapse around our ears like a pack of cards.

    How many season ticket holders or, PLC board directors, can walk out the front door with MON?

     

    Season ticket holders KNEW that the club was corrupt, yet they were, WEAK & LAZY, and continued to financially back this corruption, so long as they were getting their Green Hun, Old Firm, Supremacy out of it.

     

    Season ticket holders, even saw fit to pay Old Rangers prices for tickets, to watch New Rangers vs Celtic, and then these, Celtic season ticket holders, would go into Ibrox and start to sing…

     

    “YOUR NOT RANGERS ANYMORE” immediately AFTER paying Old Rangers ticket prices, to watch New Rangers vs Celtic! Then these SAME season ticket holders, have the brass necked AUDACITY, to laugh at supporters of the Ibrox club!

     

    They embarrassed the hoops, doesn’t even scratch the surface.

     

    NOW, after 8 years of collusion, there are “Sack The Board” protests, because GREEN HUNNISM is now a busted flush!

    Why was there NO outrage from, PL, NL, or Celtic’s Green Hun supporter’s, to offer ANY challenge, to Davie Provan’s opinion? Why?

     

    Neil Lennon could yet surprise us all, by implementing his, Barcelona tactics that proved successful, against arguably, the best football side ever, in 2012, and grab the season by the horn’s, but I feel that NL recognised in 2016, as he watched on from outside the club, as Celtic season ticket holders, paid Old Rangers ticket prices, to watch, New Rangers vs Celtic, gulled by the signing of, Brendan Rodgers, as manager, whom himself would later be sacrificed, as Celtic season ticket holders had cemented the Old Firm fixture, back onto season books, the GHOST’S OF THE JUNGLE wept. I’m sure that NL realized right there, and then, that a ticket trap had been agreed to, by Celtic PLC board executives, and Celtic’s Green Hun, season ticket holders, had just been HAD, the Same Club issue died on the spot, as soon as a Celtic season ticket holder purchased one of these tickets, from the Ticket Trap. The CAUSE was dead! Celtic were no more a, “stand alone club” the Old Firm was back, and a, DD, PL, led, executive, and their financial backers, Celtic’s Green Hun season ticket holders, had just left an INDELIBLE stain on the, CAUSE, which imho, is now dead! Killed by the self indulgent greed, of Celtic’s Green Hun, season ticket holders.
