Statistically most likely a large minority among our support and possibly even a relatively bigger group online, for whom a hoot, a gowf day or even a trip in a csc bus brings them out in a cold sweat and has them running for their quiet place

    Collum managed to disrupt more of our passing moves than the St. Mirren defence did!

     

     

    As much as I love our goals just now , I also love our fast passing moves . Opposition defenders must have to go for a lie down in a darkened room after playing us . Wonderful football .

    I’m undecided as yet as to which game this week is the more important. After the defeat on opening day, I’d real concerns we’d be 6 points behind them come September, worst case is we’ll be only three behind, but this is game we now go to win on Sunday.

     

     

    Given the little difference in prize money, I’m leaning towards prioritising the Ibrox match ahead of the trip to Holland.

     

     

    Let’s be greedy though and go to win both. Great to have these type of games back after last season’s car crash.

    I hope Ryan can be persuaded to stay at Celtic as he is a cracking player and he always plays with a smile on his face.

     

     

    Big Money can talk but hopefully he sees that Something Really Good is happening at Celtic.

    I’ve just been reading, (haven’t watched), about the theRangers fans’ racist abuse of Kyogo Furuhashi for the ‘crime’ of being Japanese… As much as I am appalled at these morons, there may be a silver lining to this particular dark cloud… Anyone who knows anything about Japanese Culture understands the importance of respect and honour as a cultural norm. I for one hope that this is widely highlighted on Japanese Social and mainstream media with the likely RESULT that NO Japanese (hopefully Asian) footballer will EVER consider playing for the theRangers! 👍

     

     

    I hope this doesn’t offend any of the ‘we’re not half of anything’ or the ‘there’s no Celtic in OF’ brigades, who I strongly agree with, but we really are the Ying and Yang of football!

     

     

    This episode reminds me of how the Great Jock Stein said that given the choice of signing one of two players of equal ability, one a Catholic and the other a Protestant, that he would ALWAYS sign the Protestant as this would effectively make BOTH players unavailable to the now dead team! 😊

    There was a story going around decades ago that St. John wanted to be a match commentator and either the BBC or ITV gave him a private trial, where only the executives deciding who to hire could hear his commentary.

     

     

    The following was told to me as the reason he ended up in the studio instead.

     

     

    The story goes that the game selected happened to be a Liverpool game, and that the bold Ian was instructed to just be himself and describe the play. Now just imagine St. John with a rising level of excitement during the game describing the play something like this:

     

     

    “And it’s Keegan to Fairclough, Fairclough back to Keegan, Oh! A beautiful through pass from Keegan to Heighway, Heighway in full flow now, crosses the ball, and Oh! What a f—-king goal!!!!!.”

     

    Long pause, then “Oh, shit!”

     

     

    Course it could have been just a joke. But you never know.😊

    Watching MOTD and interested to hear Tuchel saying that having Lukaku let’s them play “more direct”, i.e. allowing the ball to held up to bring others into the game. Chelsea are are top technical side but still realise that a big frontman can give them other options.

     

     

    Of course we have had BBJ and Sutton and recently Moussa who could do this job. Eddy, with all his undoubted talents, can be a bit of a ‘footerer’ when the ball gets played in to him.

     

     

    I would like to see a big frontman with these qualities added to the squad – only problem is where to find one within our price-range.
