Cognitive Dissonance with Pressley always in middle of controversy

738

Stephen Pressley’s Falkirk team did well at Hampden yesterday but the manager did himself no credit with his half time rant at the referee, who chopped off a perfectly good Celtic goal but annoyed Pressley for awarding a penalty when Thomas Rogne was hauled to the ground.

An irritated Pressley, who always seems to be the one in the middle of any controversy, then gave an inexplicable post-match interview to the BBC, demonstrating as clear a case of Cognitive Dissonance you are likely to find outside of a textbook.  At the time he, apparently, hadn’t seen a TV replay of the penalty incident, made no attempt to claim Darren Dods was innocent of the alleged discretion, nor did he suggest the referee had erred, but he was clearly troubled trying to reconcile these facts with his feeling of being wronged.

To all aspiring Cognitive Dissonance posters in the CQN comments section, new standards have been set. You are a bunch of amateurs with functioning resolution pathways and have no future in the game.

    then switch off automatic updating

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Turn-automatic-updating-on-or-off

    and everything should be ok.

I am not so familiar with windows but it may be that your disk is badly fragmented and needs de fragmented. This can easily take a day until it has de fragmented the disk.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314848

If you follow the link above you can actually watch it de fragment your disk for you using a nice graphical tool.

From experience (It does sound like Internet explorer has gone)

What happens is that your PC is saying to Microsoft … hey I am two weeks old .. do you have any new fixes for me

It does this at startup time if you have set up automatic updating.

Microsoft says (e.g) Yup Kittoch I have e.g 3 updates for you …. I´ll send them now

It then sends you them … your PC tries to update your PC using these fixes. Now It can be that you haven´t deleted internet explorer and everything is fine but due to a scheduled de fragmentation request it is taking an extra ordinarily long time … if this is the case be patient

Or it has got itself in a loop (I have seen this often after a user has moved/deleted) Internet explorer

if you haven´t then you need to defragment more often and on this occasion you should exercise more patience

i.e you are doing everything right and so is the computer. It is only doing what it is asked. That´s computers for you. It is the impatient customers that are doing everything right but just need told this that have the saddest faces when parting with their 60 quid :-)))))

  4. No rumours, no “info”, just a thought I had yesterday…

Owen Coyle in Glasgow (taking in Celtic match) states he is “hoping to add one or two in the next 2 days”…

If he’s busy working on transfers what’s he doing in Glasgow at our game?

    Sammy to Bolton?? Mibees???

I was told by somebody we made enquiries of Toni/Klose or Cisse, just with you posting two out of the three…Messi as much chance as him signing for orcs but hey, you know that mate…

If Coyle wants Sammy he can give us cash plus Kevin Davies.

I’d still like to see Sammy stay and win the league this year, though.

    Treble ideally.

  9. Dundee United could face two late bids to take striker Johnny Russell away from Tannadice before the transfer window slams shut tomorrow night (writes Tom Duthie).

Celtic have already had two verbal offers knocked back and the Evening Telegraph can reveal English League Cup finalists Cardiff City could also make a move in the next 24 hours.

The 20-year-old, however, will be going nowhere unless one of the two come up with a £1.5 million bid.

  11. Assuming we sign this polish chap I will be absolutely delighted with our transfer dealings (assuming no one of importance goes too)!

This hopefully signals a real turnaround by our custodians in ensuring we do the right thing to win on the park (as well as off it).

Both Sammi and Neil are reconciled to the Greek playing out wide left, leaving us with Stokes, Hooper, Brozek (just arrived) and Bangura (injured and, up to now, no great shakes).

3 strikers in the first team? Lenny is doing the right thing in looking for another.

  14. £10 MILLION for Jellylegs who has weighed in with Six goals in his last Nine games: Four of those Six goals came from the penalty spot and he has contributed just one assist in that period (against ICT).

No, I think they will be lucky to get £3.5 Million…

I know he was once a Teddy Bear, but Don’t Be Cruel, he’s not a Moody Blue. Wise men say only fools rush in, and you’d need a Wooden Heart to deny that Celtic deserved to win. I hope Pressley wasn’t Crying In The Chapel prior to checking into the Heartbreak Hotel as a result of his Suspicious Mind. A Little Less Conversation with the media will help him head off T-R-O-U-B-L-E in future. (thumbsup)

  18. Perhaps Coyle is looking at yesterdays dis-interested James Forest who frankly should not have played when Commons was available.

He was not alone as Wanyama looked a yard short,as he did against St Mirren.

Klose,Janko is mischief,Cisse no thanks, more trouble than he is worth. However Hunt or Russell would be great cover with no pressure on the Manager to play constantly.
