Let’s not forget, constantly missing sitters isn’t “bad luck”.

3 games where we’ve been at least as good as them for long periods but never looked like winning.
It’s not tactics or personnel now, the big difference now is confidence.

Pretty much, except for the keepers. Theirs is better. And it’s a crucial position that makes a difference to the outcome of games.

Card wise, case in point, helander wipes out a celtic player early on. No card. Similar challenge but actually less of a foul because I think he got the ball, sees broonie booked.
Patterson, who will start his covid ban next week just as tavernier pen returns to fitness, wipes out Greg Taylor- no booking. But he is a good young player so presumably the sfa have a rule that you can’t book him.
Penalty to us – griff potentially scoring, gets pushed out the road, red card all day long.
Just because we are sh1t3 doesn’t mean they aren’t still at it.
We’ve all seen the difference in Edouard when he plays his favoured outside left position.
But square pegs in round holes is now the Celtic way, especially when we want to disrupt players progress.

Can we still use the “better squad” line?
Honest question, if Slippy was offered any of our players, how many would he take? Bear in mind he doesn’t have rose spectacles and would go by what he sees on the pitch.
Turnbull? McGregor? At a stretch maybe. Any of our defenders? Goalkeepers? Even strikers on current form?

McGregor, Kent and Arribo were their standout players. Kent ran us ragged in the first half. Second half big Celtic improvement and it was us against McGregor, chance after chance going abegging. JonJoe frustratedthe hell out of me with his one dimentionable play down the right. Interestingly Griff made immediate impact and should have taken the penalty kick. Rangers owe it to 39 year old McGregor

Not that it will bother him, but I’ll remember Gary Hooper more fondly than Edward.
It raises an interesting debate of when to sell these mercenaries.
There would have been uproar had we sold Edouard, Christie and Ajer last summer.
Now look where we are (Ajer will probably leave but shouldn’t be lumped in with the other two). Wouldn’t be surprised if we get more for Ajer than Christie and Edouard combined (where does Christie think he’s going? Hibs or Aberdeen are about his level right now).
Gerard’s interview interesting for the fact he actually Said “Celtic” several times rather than “they” or “them” which he did previously. Talked well of us – I think this comes from the fact he is no longer worried about us.
christie is a shadow of the potential he showed in the passed. Physically he looks thinner and more lightweight, mentally he is weak and technically he has been woeful. Combination of lennon man management and christie lacking self belief and lowering his standards.
Lennon has a history of breaking players and I was extremely unhappy when Frimpong left – he could have been a star for the next 5 years under a good coach

That’s a good point. Reminds me of Alex Ferguson who started to become very civil and even complimentary towards Arsene Wenger when Arsenal were no longer a threat to the title.

Totally accept your points
Biggest indictment is that Gerrard and his coaching team would likely build on his potential. By contrast, I reckon Ajer’s been good in some ways, despite, the ‘coaching’ he’s received.

I always worry about the terms of loan deals.
Does Laxalt have to play if he is fit, or there are penalties?
I don’t know but i’m not a fan of loans.
Mind you if there was a penalty we would probably miss it….

I thought Taylor was excellent v Livingston . Strange player selections could be something JK has picked up from his recently departed gaffer .
Ajer has been good – despite the crap he ‘s had to play beside. If celtic need mentality and heart next season – look no further than Ajer! in fact, I’d make him captain.
I’m grateful for the last 10years – its UNBELIEVABLE what we have achieved. We had a bad season with COVID, INJURIES, REFS, POOR COACHING ETC ETC. the negative energy rubs off on all of us including the team.

How do we respond? we need characters not projects – starting with the coaching staff and I would take a chance on Keane or Moyes – they know the club and history and wouldn’t tolerate the refs (like Fergie didn’t for Aberdeen). Unfortunately , Eddie Howe would get walked all over!!
Stebhoy, unfortunately I fully concur with you on EH although if he does come he’ll like Macari and Mogga neither of who I wanted will have my full support.
