Scouted, background checked and experienced, Ajeti should succeed

872

Negotiations for Albian Ajeti have gone on for weeks but as you and I have said often enough, it is important to get your first choice.  Too often we end up with a player from well down the list, who did not do enough to overwhelmingly convince anyone.  That is not the case with Ablian.

The player was scouted for a move last year before his ill-fated time in London.  He is known to the manager, who will have sounded out Mohamed Elyounoussi for an assurance on things that are not evident from the stands.

Having played over 170 games, he is also more experienced than many we have signed over the last decade.  This is why we missed out on him a year ago, he was caught on the EPL radars and West Ham made what was for them a cheap acquisition.

These factors make Albian’s prospect of succeeding at Celtic higher than most recruits.  It is a pity he will not have some game time this weekend; let’s hope he is fit for this month’s challenges.

I am no fan of Douglas (?) Ross, the Hun linesman who is now a Top Tory in Scotland but why the criticism of him for not attending a VJ thingy in a`free` society?

    —————-

I will take a guess at he is not seen as being very respecful and as a leader of a unionist party these military rememberances are important to those types.

and on top of that he didnt really help 2nd rangers today,

    so a double whammy.

Livvy keep the ball like we do in Europe

    ———

Funny. Also not funny. Also too true!

  3. Well done the Livi keeper and hopefully the quiet rumours I’m hearing about a ‘bid’ for Ryan Kent (I know, I know) are true, not because I particularly rate the guy but because every time his crabbit wee puss appears I think my telly’s gonnae break. So much for Player of the Year Hagi as well.

  4. As you were then – both of us dropped points on tricky plastic pitches. Rangers dominated without creating anything really clear-cut until a few nervy late minutes. Livingston arguably closest to scoring.

Still a bit unhappy about the “points in the bag” scenario from our missing games as it does create extra pressure but I’ve seen nothing to suggest Rangers are any better than last year and in fact with Morelos lacking form and fitness, you could argue they’re weaker than they were before Christmas.

Get a centre-back and cover for LB and I still think we’ll win this league comfortably.

  5. Jon Guthrie said Rangers “playing the best football in the country”

Obviously has a different idea of what good football is.

  6. glendalystonsils on

9 points is the ‘new’ 11.

BTW who would win a ‘gurning’ competition between Kent and Morelos?

  7. Big Georges Fan Club - Hail, Hail, Wee Oscar on

Just finished watching the last 5 and half minutes of the 5 minutes of injury time. That’s good…

..we are still behind on points per match though

    Us = 2

    Them = 2.5

Need to get the postponed games played ASAP to get the points on the board and average up….

  8. In a small office in Queen Margaret’s drive as we type there is a desperate hun editing team desperately trying to make a princes out of pig for tonights sevco sportsound highlights………alas all of a sudden on sister broadcaster bbc shortbread sportsound the esteemed Tom English has now just stated that ‘plastic’ pitches should not be allowed in top flight games……never heard a peep last week..funny that

  9. No doubt their Manager (Stevie-G) will coming onto the TV Screen

    Moaning his head off.

He was moaning his head off, the other night there, when they

won three nil, it will be even worse tonight.

Lenny is right, about that venue where Livingston play their

home matches, it’s not a easy venue to go too with their

plastic pitch & they (Livingston) play to their strengths, long

ball & brute force, & sneaking in via the back door, through

opposition defences. We will have to prepare properly, like

getting use to playing on a plastic surface, when we have to

play there, during the course of this Season.

  10. You would think we might learn.

Last year when they beat us,on 29th December, the cry was “they’ll no lose again till we get a chance to take points off them”

That lasted till January 26th, the 2nd league game after the winter break and Hearts, the relegated Hearts, beat them 2:1. They followed up with a February that saw 2 wins , 2 draws and a defeat in the league and they lost the first league game of March too. That should have taught us something about their inviolability.

But no!- we were back predicting they won’t lose or drop points again- but both teams with 100% records after 3 league games, dropped points this week. It may be unexpected, it may be unlikely but it is far more likely to happen than this Stevie Gee team is to turn invincible.

Good evening all from Govanhill. So the poundland pretenders drop some points. Plenty more to come methinks. 🤔

  12. A few days ago there was a post saying the Huns would win almost 100% of their non Celtic games and it got a few agreeing with it.

On a more serious note, I am thrilled with result, this will be a huge kick in the baws to them,

This was their great chance we had dropped points, The Boli incident gave them the opportunity to open a gap, points on the Board are always better than games in hand,

They will be sick as pigs.

That is a typical hun media group response, after there favourites are firing blanks.

The SFA/SPL will allow the Likes of Livingston/Kilmarnock/& Hamilton, to use plastic pitches, because

they can’t afford to replace the Grass Pitches, @ the close of each Season.

  14. The Huns building the Huns up is terrific …

Roll on Tuesday … The Icelanders got turned over 2-1 on Friday night … if Celtic just win and get in the next round of qualifiers … this Celtic team know how to win games … it can also draw the odd game or even get beat now and again … but we live in cracking Celtic times :-)

  15. onenightinlisbon on

Watched the Sevco game. No cutting edge to them and their fat striker would not grace a fat boys versus even fatter boys down the park on a Sunday morning…he’s chucked it. As bad as us last week?

That will be the same ‘posters’ who treat James Forrest with utter contempt.

So many big girls blouses on here these days who really need to back the team ,manager and chief exec a bit more.

Everyone is entitled to a moan of course but considering what we have been doing these past 3-4 years it leaves me baffled why so many think so much is wrong.

  17. SEVCO’s short-lived 100% record as reported by SMSM will now be reduced to being unbeaten.

You are right, BigRailRoadBlues, the Poundland Pretenders. will be looking for more money

off of their hordes of Zombies, to try & stop up from going on to win 10IAR.

Hurting huns of the first order and another sleepless night for the deluded fannies!
