Scouted, background checked and experienced, Ajeti should succeed

872

Negotiations for Albian Ajeti have gone on for weeks but as you and I have said often enough, it is important to get your first choice.  Too often we end up with a player from well down the list, who did not do enough to overwhelmingly convince anyone.  That is not the case with Ablian.

The player was scouted for a move last year before his ill-fated time in London.  He is known to the manager, who will have sounded out Mohamed Elyounoussi for an assurance on things that are not evident from the stands.

Having played over 170 games, he is also more experienced than many we have signed over the last decade.  This is why we missed out on him a year ago, he was caught on the EPL radars and West Ham made what was for them a cheap acquisition.

These factors make Albian’s prospect of succeeding at Celtic higher than most recruits.  It is a pity he will not have some game time this weekend; let’s hope he is fit for this month’s challenges.

  2. See if the season isn’t completed .. it will be public health reasons … and football means heehaw when that happens … if the Huns/Sevs treat this as a “victory” well … shows their priorities … now 4 positive cases confirmed in the cluster at wee yin’s school but NLC have said low risk to the other 1400 kids tomorrow … COVID will be with us for a long long time so enjoy what we have … roll on Tuesday

  3. Right, time for a wee watch of the interesting Derren Brown.

    Goodnight all.

Are the huns not in Europe this year?

Huns don’t play their 2nd round Europa League qualifier until 17th September

  5. Nup, still nae gurnin’ pic o’ the boul’ Stevie…………..

in fact, do they ever have a pic o’ the Scouse Ned lookin’ pit ooooot at awe????

They would seem to have an awful lot of our Lugan Hero snarlin’……………..which is funny considering our relative success ratios!

    Hmmmm.

    Funny that, eh!

  6. Reality kicks in for the huns. They’ve been mince in both their away games. Early signs are that they’ve continued on their form from January.

Morelos looks uninterested and they’ll struggle without his goals.

Perhaps surprisingly, I don`t have any dislike of Fat Alfie.I genuinely do not rate him as highly as some do .

HOT SMOKED, I had the fortune/misfortune (delete as appropriate) to see the Columbian Cracker ‘live’ on a few occasions in his first season or two. I thought he was lively, had a fair touch, fairly pacey and certainly strong. One to watch out for, I chided my mates. As soon as they/thums started to build him up as the super-star he wasn’t he started to slip away from his natural game. Without doubt he could now be fairly described as uninterested, snarling, petty, very badly behaved (as a professional footballer) and seriously demotivated and unprofessional. As a bonus he also appears to be an unsettling influence in their camp. Which is, of course, a pity.

Sorry mate my math’s is spot on your sources are shite!!! lol

Crucible holds 980 nothing like 2500

  9. Sorry to be pedantic but you do the arithmetic not the maths – two different things. Easily made mistake. H H Hebcelt

  10. Was having a quick swatch at Phil’s latest article and there was a link to Seethin G’s interview after the 2-1 loss to Killie after the winter break, in which, according to Phil, he referred to Celtic being ‘relentless’. I had a wee watch/listen but yer man in fact referred to ‘other people’ being relentless and that ‘they’ had the advantage. Wow, couldn’t let himself name-check Celtic, a team he was in Seville to follow. What a job these knuckledraggers must do behind the scenes at Ipox.

Not sticking up for slippy g…but I watched the manager language very closely last few seasons and trust me it was our own Neil Lennon who started this not naming the opposition directly.

I quite agree with it also…it is all mind games and gerrard was simply following suit.

  12. Ah well … a weeks a long time in politics … maybe wee (stupid arse) Bolingoli might have have us a wee free 10 days to prepare for the Icelandic hurdle … and so far Hibs, Ross County or the Gers have taken the opportunity to capitalise on our non-performance over the last 7 days …. always a positive … you just have to want to look for it

Fellow Celts … good night & god bless, roll on Tuesday

I told my mates Lyon were 11\1 on PP last night

One of them said it was 12\1 by time he logged in

12/1 for a team that kept PSG out for 120 minutes 2 weeks ago and in games against Man City

drew 1 and won 1 in CL

Personally cashed out when Moussa scored first got 7 times stake back

Ill be checking to see if English bookes are as confident in Man Utd tonight

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

JC2, the Bookies will not be giving grat odds, for the Mancs to over come Saville.

If I was you, I would give that gambling milarky a wide berth, & don’t waste my

hard earned shekels. Footy, can also be, so unpridictable as well.

That said match, Saville v The Mancs, will probably go into extra time, then Pens,

& a blade of grass, will probably hand over the winning result, to Saville.

So you cashed out last night @ 2-1 to Lyon, the match must have been getting

on your nerves, you need bottle, for the mugs game. Anyway JC2, don’t fall into

any financial traps, like the motivation of greed, & trying to win back ones loses,

believe me, one can put those hard earned shekels to better use, rather than

waisting it in a setup, where ones misfortunes, it’s designed to lose. In other

words, in the end, the House/Casino/Bookies/2 Fly’s Going Up A Wall/The

his wife wouldn’t let him cash out

but think £2 stake wouldn’t have ruined him either way

  15. I have a granddaughter aged 9 playing under 12 Camogie & Hurling and no complaint.

Just looked up average age of Manchester United Squad, result 25.8 yrs, & Solskjar is using the fact that the opposition are 3yrs older as an excuse, must be a wind up.

  16. Poor wee cash strapped Man U need to buy lots more gazillion pound players apparently.

Meanwhile their turnip of a captain explains that the better team lost. Biggest thing that was lost was himself, at the winning goal.

  17. GoodNight & God Bless All.

Off to my leaba in much better form then when I left it this morning.

My top team to start next weekend hopefully

    verkas, GK

    El hamad RB

    Duffy CH hopefully fingers crossed

    Julian CH

XXXXX LB we dont have one get it sorted

    Christie MID

    Brown MID

    Mcgregor Mid

Frimpong Right midfield ( he will get to byline and create chances)

Griffiths he must get fit and he is known to work well with eddie, no time for projects

Eddie works so well with Griffiths

Now Neil lets be clear here no more playing two wide [players and handing midfield to Opposition or leave eddie on his own to be surrounded by 3 defenders

the team above is our best chance to win league we have players ( just need duffy and LB would be good if we had invested in proven players and not west ham failures )

  22. Good morning cqn from a dry but overcast Garngad

Get Mr Duffy signed up. I think he would provide the steel we need.

  24. Good morning, friends, from a dry but grey cloud covered, misty East Kilbride. me and Mrs Baldie about to start our 3 day (2 night) staycation, travelling to St Andrews where I understand it’s likely to be grey cloud covered at best; but just getting outside of EK for a couple of nights is something.

Hoping that the wifI in the caravan park is sufficient for me to catch tomorrow night’s Champions League qualifier, thus allowing me to vote for my 3 superstars. I hope that all of you will do the same CQNPOTY@GMAIL.COM
