SFA lawyers examine illegal registration responses

1119

BBC today revealed that the SFA’s legal team are examining responses from the Associations 93 clubs to a letter dated 9 March, which reminded clubs of their responsibility to record financial records with the SFA and asking them to declare they have complied over the last 10 years.

The inquiry was established after reports that Rangers had illegally registered players for over a decade, excluding payments which were not taxed.  We can presume that as the legal team are investigating, there was at least one response which returned a noncompliance.

The SFA issued a deadline for responses of 6 April and under Article 86.1 any club not responding in a timely manner would be in breach, so it’s unclear why it has taken over two months to get to this stage, so why the legal team are only “examining responses”.

We look forward to hearing an early comment on this crucial matter from the executive.  It is enormously unfortunate that the SFA were unable to inform their AGM of the findings on Wednesday. BBC report that the Association legal team have yet to report to the Compliance Officer, which is the next step.

I regret buying the DR for years but I suppose the lies, agendas amd blatant anti-Celtic hyperbole were not nearly as bad pre-Jackson and Traynor. The modern Scottish MSM see fit to discriminate against the very club that put Scottish Football on the world map in 67. At the same time they promote a positive status for a club that has done nothing but tarnish the country’s reputation in every way.

The very fact they get away with it actually says more about this socially backward nation.

I was having a laugh with they young Bhoy the other day telling him how I used to trawl the newsagents in whatever holiday resort I was in looking for a DR as I was so desperate for Celtic news, any Celtic news. The feeling of excitement and anticipation as you read the back page, of a two day old paper, hoping for a summer transfer spree and then the disappointment when they were linked with some, scarily good centre forward.

No, they don’t. If they and the SFA were to agree that they had a matter that they couldn’t resolve they could jointly agree to refer it to the CAS for arbitration. But if the SFA was to say that the Appeals Tribunal’s decision is final (as it says in the rules that the huns are signed up to) then that is the end of the matter.

I was the same many years ago when living in London . Taking a detour on the tube on my way to work. A quick stop at Euston rush up to the news-stand to get my daily record fix. Sometimes they were sold out but I knew all the places in London that sold it so I would find one somewhere . I think it was a good lively tabloid paper then . That was along time ago. I cant stomach it now.

The Stephen Thompson interview is worth careful consideration. He is clear that a straight no punishment newco entry is unlikely. But, he talks strongly about a ‘negotiation’, ‘finance’ the ‘TV deal’ ‘supporters no to newco’ and a ‘balance’.

I’d say he is pretty clear that he WILL vote for a newco to protect the tv deal but with ‘sanctions’ that he hopes would appease the fans. What is commonly called a compromise or…… fudge.

The danger is that Thompson’s idea of a fair settlement will be vastly different from mine.

There is no fair settlement which involves parachuting a new club into the SPL, ignoring the league structure and the right of the SFL clubs …no Rangers means a space open and three teams moving up a league…no other option is acceptable

  17. I see that the tabloids in UK report about Russian and English speaking fans beaten In Lodz In Poland.

Lodz police spokesman told Polish press: “I’m very surprised on the reports and cannot give any confirmation about the fights that happened near or in that pub. It’s true that at 16:05 we got a phone call from an unidentified woman who told that she was near the pub and saw hooligans preparing for the fight. She could not give any more details on the situation.

Our troops and the ambulance were there ten minutes from the telephone call but we did not see any people there, could not find the signs of the fight. The owner of the pub (woman) did not report any troubles to us.”

English and Russian fans in Lodz? Strange. UK tabloids report about details, while the police say they were there and have seen nothing.

    What happened.

Four Russian hooligans arrested in Warsaw for beating two Turks in the centre of Warsaw. Those beaten two Turks are the owners of Kebab kiosk.

Polish Police intervened in the centre of the city when couple of Polish fans attacked stewards near the gates to the Fan Zone. Stewards decided to close the gates when the crowd inside the Fan Zone was too big. Stewards decision was due to the security reasons. Two Polish fans arrested.

Russian hooligans are among the worst.

When Spartak Moscow played Zilina in the CL a few years ago and they started allsorts that day.

It is certainly nothing to do with where the games are taking place and everything to do with the hooligans themselves.

I have been amazed for some time by Rangers ability to defy financial gravity, but I think I’ve worked out the how.

There is obviously a financial black hole hovering unseen over Ibrox. Unlike a normal black hole it sucks in money. It sucked in Dave Kings money, Joe Lewis money, tax payers money, Ticketus money, bank depositors money, small businesses’ money and now, when those sources are spent it is reaching out for investors money.

Any “investor” putting a penny into the black hole deserves to remain attached to it.
