  1. An excellent 90 minute performance from a team and certain individuals who have been accused of being unfit.

We played a team to beat a half decent footballing team, outmuscled them to put them off their passing game and then showed too much quality.

The rush of goals didn’t come by chance, we got a lot more men into forward positions, Taylor in the 18 yard box, Christie and Turnbull around the 6 yard box, all late in the game.

Our crap defence means that when we’re in control it doesn’t feel like it, but we were, outwith the first 15 minutes.

  2. Marspapa – I get all that, I really do but let’s not sugar coat it.

    That first half was Dire.

We had a good second half, good that’s it.

Even if we get it down to losing the league by 9 or 10 points that’s a 23 point swing from last year, absolutely shocking and the management team must fall on the same sword as Lawell has.

Now if we have any hope of doing anything next year we should be planning just now, get rid of said management team and break the bank for a high profile manager to get our 1st team, squad and youth set up on track and give us a chance next year.

It’s pretty mild on CQN compared to elsewhere on the internet. It’s not excusing it but some of the stuff you’ll read elsewhere is shocking

  4. As for the righteous people who do not like other people commenting on our performances.

    Get a grip.

You have as much right as anyone else to comment or not.

    Nail on head

    We outmuscled them tonight

Something that’s been missing all season

IF we keep doing that we’ll win a helluvalot more than we’ll lose

  6. Guys,

People are fed up with lockdown. Mental health issues abound. No summer holidays. Futures and jobs uncertain. Bills mounting up. Horrendous weather. Death and suffering in our midsts.

This is a depressing time. The blog reflects society in this respect.

Celtic gives us a glimmer of normality . I personally look forward to our games,

  7. One of my pet hates for League comparisons is the “points swing” analergy.

Each new season starts on 0 points, nothing carries over, there is no point swing, each season is on that base arithmetic.

Same holds true for MON season, we won the league from the zero base, not from the points we were behind in 2000.

  8. Madmitch – I take it Brown was pish this Saturday coming ?

What was it Brown did to you ? C’mon get it out ….

  9. Taylor is our player. Laxalt isn’t.

With the league gone, I’d rather invest time in our own players. Another reason why Welsh’s injury was so disappointing.

I agree wholeheartedly , think back not that long ago when we had very little to smile about after our games . The bigger picture will happen ,

lets enjoy a wee win with some players looking like their old self Broonie n Rogic , yes there were flaws but tonight there is much more to smile than GIRN ( courtesy of AT) about .

    Take care😉👍 .

But make no mistake! , that big lump of wid knew exactly what he was doing with that challenge on Welsh! !!..

Why are we not in a good place to win our remaining games?

    Is it attitude?

    Is it personnel?

    Is it fitness / conditioning?

Is it coaching / set up?

Is it a lack of fight / drive / ambition?

Is it a lack of focus?

Just what — in your mind — is wrong with the team?

  14. Marspapa – 😂😂😂

    You are probably right.

I do on reading back sound like a twat.😂😂😂

    I need a beer substitute

  15. Watching Everton Spurs now

Spurs throwing crosses into the Everton box and there’s eleven, ELEVEN Everton players in there defending it. That’s not by chance. That’s been drilled into them on the training pitch

  16. Any thoughts on the current market value of KA?

He was our best mid-fielder by far playing at CB.

To me that takes some doing.

  17. Hey Spikey dont you start.

You got kicked out of the Garngad and well you know it bhoy.

    D :)

  18. Spurs are a bit of a nightmare – they could be 3-0 up with 5 mins to go

and get beat 4-3. They should buy Duffy, he would fit right in.

  19. I read that really interesting thing about people and that “Kennedy moment”

remembering finite details where you were what was happening, what you were wearing, eating, doing, as the moment of world changing news came in.

The same thing happens here often, Tontine Tim, Garcia Lorca, and our corrospondent from the vatican,

they share Celtic moments in time that are joyfull, soulfull or sad.

Their Grandas memories of Malcolm McDonald,

Great grand weans memories of Patsy and Delaney

    Belfast memories of Tully.

This current day obsession of listen to me, today is the worst celtic team i ever seen, he is the worst player, he is the worst manager, everything is bad, and anyone who doesnt agree with me is in a cult, well , it is just a moment on a blog, consigned to a cloud computer data code line, that is so small it is irrelavant.

  22. SAM @ 10.42

Nothing against SB — just a case that he is not good enough to be in the team.

He is three years past being a starter in the team.

BR was trying to shove him out the door after two years in charge.

He was nowhere near the standard we should have been aiming for — VW / JMcC for instance.

He has never been a proper DM but we never managed to replace a certain VW since 2013.

Plus he has never been the leader we needed — leader aff at a pinch but never a leader.

He has spent to much effort in building SB the myth not SB the player.

    Never really grew up.

Don`t worry about it.The same people who are saying all of the above will , in a few years, be talking of how wonderful the present team were :-))

    Goodnight all.

  24. Bhoy From The Boyne on

Enjoyed that tonight. Watched it with Sky turned down. Forgot about our problems this season, just wanted to see Celtic play well & win over 90 mins.

We sure will miss Ajer when he goes. Personally, I wouldn’t offer SB another year. I would save the cost on SB to offer Ajer the best possible deal we could and the captaincy to him.

Money on offer elsewhere probably makes it unrealistic but I would hope club are doing all they can to keep him on new deal.

  25. CQN match reports — Cheap sub tabloid journalism ??? !!! ???.

Written in the style of Garrell / Luggie McKenzie never mind Kelvin McKenzie.

  27. Very well done and welcome confidence boost tonight for the Bhoys

One negative is the injury to young Stephen Welsh

If he is out, and Nir Bitton is still out injured

Who now covers at Centre Half for Kris Ajer & Shane Duffy ???

    Pretty accurate!

  29. A good win against a form team, hard earned but unfortunate injury to young Welsh and let’s be honest after a deliberate dirty tackle on the lad. Hopefully the injury is not serious and a great pity just as he was starting to look comfortable in the problem central defensive position. Kris Ager looks great captain material for the Hoops going forward but unfortunately he will be off to pastures new.
