The rascal Neil Lennon

771

What a rascal that Neil Lennon is, laughing off interest in Amido Balde while leading us all down the Kevin Doyle road last week, then Amido pitches up at Celtic Park, complete with obligatory Celtic scarf, before heading for some scans and time plugged -up with on the running machine today.

Amido’s road to Celtic Park has not been straight.  He was released by Sporting Lisbon last year without kicking a ball for them, but he has spent a year in a competitive league playing against some Champions League defences, so Celtic will have a fair idea of what kind of player he is.

Does he have the technique?  Does he have the physique?  Does he have the temperament?   John Park and the scouts will have given Neil Lennon lots of information on these elements of Amido, so there should be no surprises.

This is even more true of Balde than of last season’s twin striking signings, Lassad and Miku (trivia question of the future, Who led the line for Celtic when they beat Barcelona in 2012?).  Both arrived in the final days of the window, with options expiring all around and beggars choosing.

As always, the most important hope for any transfer window is that the manager and scouts get their first choices.  That assured, we’ll do alright.

11 June and first piece of transfer speculation. Held the tide as long as I could.

Just heard on bbc r4 that ole Eddie Stobart is goin’ to run legal aid.

Maybe we should ask him if he wants to expand his empire into Scottish football.

  2. NOW is the time for Celtic and others to declare their position.

The situation has gone beyond the identity of the beneficient club and is firmly focused on the SFA.

Myself and a few others spoke about boycotting the Cup Final, in protest against the SFA, but the clamour for tickets suggested that most people didn’t care about the corruption of that organisation.

The Celtic support had a chance to makes it’s voice heard, but for their own selfish reasons, i.e. wanting to be at the C F, they shirked it and, in effect, gave CO a vote of confidence.

If Celtic are shown to be complicit, and it is looking very likely, then the race to buy cut price season tickets further compromises the support in the complicity to corrupt the game further.

    Scottish football died today.

While many people have been calling for our board to do this, that and the other throughout the last 18 months – when most of the time there was no need for Celtic to do anything, I firmly believe they should have opposed Ogilvie’s return today.

This has nothing to do with Charlotte Fakes.

It has everything to do with the fact that Rangers (in liquidation) were found guilty of operating a dual contract system when Ogilvie was employed at Ibrox and involved in signing those documents.

Celtic, and every other club, should be calling for his resignation.

  4. The Moon Bhoys on

Its far from being unbelievable, we all knew he would be re-elected, its absolute confirmation that they dont care what we think, they know they have enough masonic muscle to keep us in line, thats if we dare to step out of line, which we won’t.

May they rot in hell for eternity.

  5. There probably isn’t enough legal admissable evidence to charge Ogilve with anything. He is a Hun who is the beneficiary of an EBT and we don’t like or trust him, but that isn’t enough. We would all love to see him kicked out in disgrace but the majority of Clubs won’t oblige. Its ridiculous to start throwing tantrums and to turn against our own Club because of this. There are far more important things in life then to lose any sleep over that sh***bag.

Scottish football died a long time ago, the hope of renewing it and re-inventing it is slipping away with each new slap in the face that we the supporters are getting..

  7. So who’s got the conclusive proof of who voted him in? Was it finely balanced? Was it unanimous? Were there just a handful of dissenters and who were they?

  8. thomthethim

Aye, another season of same old crap from the media, we need the huns back.

Another season of corrupt decisions from the sfa.

Another season of mega honest mistakes from the bent and bias referees.

Another season of Celtic fans bitching and moaning about the above.

    Welcome to reality.

That’s just nonsense and you know it!

Ogilvie is right up to his chin in it

  10. We as fans had the opportunity for real change in our game and we let it pass us by I’m afraid.

  11. Not long back to discover that Ogilvie has been re-elected for another two years!!

    Hello again.

SO – can we expect RC O’gilvie to be re-elected today?

    – can we expect some clubs to abstain from the vote?

    – can we expect ANYONE to put forward a motion of no confidence?

    – can we expect ANYTHING of any significance to take place? Eg – a baying mob of

angry, disenfranchised and disillusioned supporters, armed with sharpened

pitchforks and blazing torches and calling for the heads of Ogilvie and the rest of the

    masonic cabal?!

    What do you mean NO?!

    Aye – move along Timmy!

Unsuprised, ashamed and sick to my stomach will do for now.

So, can you give me the FACTS re Ogilvie?

    Steinreignedsupreme,

    Thanks,

  14. Having attended celtic plc agm in the past I know how useless you feel, maybe celtic got treated the way they treat us…

    With total distain.

…and if they do come up with a new law to punish clubs for their fans singing songs they dont approve off, no prizes for guessing which club will be punished first.

  16. 16 roads - Neil Lennon walks on water. on

That’s poor Lenny going to be hounded for another two seasons by those sewer rats.

The persecution of our manager is a deliberate SFA policy, and that Campbell cretin involved in it up to his neck.

  17. Remember fans felt strongly about being paranoid and we were proved right, we feel the exact same way about Ogilvie and we will be proved right.

You are hovering about the blog often enough – you shouldn’t need anyone to spoon feed you methinks!

  22. TET,

There was only going to be two honourable options for Celtic.

Options that would not see them compromised in integrity or complicit in corruption.

Neither of the options may not be obtainable, but they are still the only untainted ones.

You know what they are, of course.

    BC or DC.

If there is a viable third, then I’d love to hear it.

  23. The Exiled Tim – if Celtic didn’t vote for CO and they’re composing a response, i suspect they’ll need to be very careful with the wording.

We haven’t heard the details of any of the other votes (to the best of my knowledge), why would this one be different?

  24. lennon's passion on

Thought there was a new pope teelected with all the smoke. No just everyone burning there season books. Just me sitting alone in the stands.

  25. saltires,

The blog ,re Ogilvie, is mainly a platform for letting off steam. I feel that the anger could be justified so I intend contacting Celtic. Before doing so, I would prefer to be armed with facts. So far, all I have is the claim that he was involved in the EBT scam at Ibrox but he has said he wasn`t.

    JJ

  26. What is te basis for CO’s re-election – aside from all the topics generally discussed here we have the national team ranking in free fall (last Fridays plucky result not withstanding), European coefficient in free fall, finances of most clubs in the gutter, no sensible sponsorship etc, etc…. For what has he been assessed to have done a good job and worthy of re-election to carry on a winning level of job performance? It beggars belief…

  27. saltires, Ogilve may well have been up to his neck in it but there is probably no evidence that would stand in a court of law. I’m far from happy but all I’m saying is that the world reeks of injustices and in the scale of things this is small beer. Ghuys letting this really get to them are being pure silly & childish. As I said earlier I’ll not lose a minutes sleep over that s****bag and I’ll continue to support the Celtic.
