It’s only a flesh wound. King goes Full Python

1151

Celtic hammered Newco 5-1 home and away last season, knocked them out both cups, won one other game and conceded a late equaliser, allowing Newco their only moment of (cough) glory last season.

We finished 39 points ahead of Newco (who were 33 points from bottom). As we set off for the summer, glowing after the first invincible treble in history, chairman of Newco, that complete muppet Dave King, told the assembled media, “In footballing terms I don’t think Celtic are as far ahead as they could have been – certainly with our new signings.”

The two 5-1 defeats now look like Python’s Black Knight losing his legs one at a time, but protesting they were little more than flesh wounds. Except Python was a parody, this guy is being serious!

So, Brendan, Peter, Dermot, get the finger out. These people don’t believe 5-1 is a substantial enough winning margin. When we pitch up at Ibrox on the weekend of 23/24 September, ‘go Medieval on their ass’ to borrow from Quentin.

Take five minutes to update yourself on The Road to Lisbon cyclists, who traveled from Celtic Park to Estadio Nacional last month.

This has been a phenomenal and inspiring effort by a group of Celtic fans – and so many donors.  What a great thing to be a part of.

Celtic fans enjoying good times, it’s an easy life (for now :-)

I thought Martin O’Neill was special

I know Neil Francis is special

    But……..

Brendan has brought every Celtic fan I know (young or old) together that I have never known, let others pick faults…….

Last season was something else mate – unsurpassable possibly – but unless we drag ourselves down to the Huns levwl there are plenty of good times ahead.

  6. Clogher Celt: I have found a few notes I have on Laudabiliter. If you wish to have them, please ask Paul for my e-mail address and I will send them and other notes on Irish history to you. My e-mail address will give you a clue as to why I want Laudabiliter to be a false document.

I will also write to the person who worked in the Vatican to see if he can shed any light on the mystery of this document.

On the button…..am not used to journalists actually saying what they think, I listen to SSB all the time when the Sevco mob were going through more of the shit they have made us put up with Mark Guidi (journalist) said, and I paraphrase “am fed up with this can we not just move on” never mind “sports journalist” ….. The biggest fraud in professional football, and a sports journalist says he is bored ???????????

  9. So glad to hear that BR is looking for one player to get us through the Qualifiers.I said weeks ago,I did not want to see too many players coming in,as I cant see ,apart from a commanding in the air,CH,where we could improve on the players we have,in this mental transfer market.I dont want us to sign players, just for the sake of it.Where are we going to play them?.Who would drop out?.Armstrong,Rogic,Griff,.We have a great core of players, let them have a go at the CL.One player of quality, could make us really special.

Turkeybhoy, if you’re about I could use some advice. Mrs S and I have been coming to Turkey for 10 years now and the last 4 we’ve brought the whole family. We use the same firm for taxi, transport outings etc. Today one of the drivers, who we’ve got to know quite well, invited us to his house/ smallholding for tea tomorrow. What is the etiquette surrounding this invite? Do we bring a gift, if so what sort? We usually, nay always, give him a generous tip- would he be insulted if we did the same at his house or asked to buy something from him….olive oil or pomegranate juice for example?

I will get back to you tomorrow, when MRS TB,who knows more about this than me,will give her opinion.

I know FA about this stuff. She does.

  12. If a club cannot guarantee the safety of a club. players, official’s and it’s support should that club be allowed entry into the competition?

If that club cannot play on the designated days the competition is planned to take place should that club be allowed entry to the competition?

  13. I see the worlds most brain deprived numpties are posting on Munter Media, that some expert,I think his name is Alfred E Neuman, has told them they can make 5 million pounds from shirt sales. You know, sometimes its really hard not too piss yourself laughing at them, because my mother always told me not to laugh at the afflicted, but they defy the laws of the Universe. If you are watching down Ma,I have pissed my pants laughing at them.

    Forgive please.

Watching Glastonbury I wonder what Neganon/Grumpy Cat made of Katy Perry.

    ———————–

I’ve always wondered what the sound quality is like at Glastonbury, whenever they have reporters at the back of the crowd the bands sound awful.

I’ve been to a few stadium gigs and even they are poor compared to indoor venues, obvious I know but the stadium gigs were enough to put me off paying money again.

Couldn’t agree more, Hamdump being the worst, with 2 exceptions, The Boss last summer, scorching weather helped, and The Rolling Stones, where i had a Meet and Greet (VP was greetin when i showed him my pic of me and the band), we were about 10 yards from the stage.A truly brilliant experience.HH

  17. !!Bada Bing!! on

Weet- meeting ID in town on Friday if you and JF fancy a day oot , hope you are well HH

  18. Foo Fighters.

Now there’s a band worthy of headlining Glastonbury (IMHO)

    What a wonderful noise .

Can’t stand these festival / stadium gigs. Last one i went to was at Hampden Park. F****** awful place for a gig. I’ll never go to another stadium gig, so i guess that means i won’t ever get to see The Boss, orThe Stones , or Roger Waters. c’est la vie.

    FFS,have I been conned?.

Joking aside, its about time someone from our club slapped him down.Well overdue.

  20. Just given up on watching Glastonbury- sound quality is worse than a pub, in fact I remember better in the ole burns host!

  21. Good evening all. Our very own Bmcuw has often stated that either by ,with the laws of probability or percentage , that meeting a CQN ‘r that’s a knobend ( his description ) has to happen sometime but still remains a mystery undiscovered .

May I add , that the likely , is still a mystery .

Celebrating the future nuptials of two from CQN ‘ s finest , was a pleasure . Not a knobend in the vicinity . Putting a couple more faces to names always helps . Andy & Phil , u know who you are , till the next time chaps .

It was good that Paul 67 popped in . When he founded this madhoose , he could never have imagined the good it would create or the friendships it would develop .

One more note , last night OG Rafferty posted a link at around 10.30 where he replied ( via the BBC , if my memory is correct ) to a bigot that murdered his cousin . It was one of the most profound things I’ve ever read on CQN . OG Rafferty . Total respect .

Sorry for the long post , but can I just wish HT & Minx every happiness and good health that they both deserve . Good night Timland HH

If a club cannot guarantee the safety of a club. players, official’s and it’s support should that club be allowed entry into the competition?

    …………..

No Doc.The main point is this mob have tramped over Celtic and dictated when the game should be played. We should have emphatically stated either the 11th or 12th of July as stipulated and if a racist, sectarian march was taking priority then immediately should have demanded a neutral venue or insisted that these rats were thrown out.

But oh no.Not this Celtic board. We will kow tow and do as we are told.

They are an utter embarrassment to the support on this issue.

Dont give them a fekin penny.People getting upset about Hun nonentities.

If some poor Celtic fan was killed, would you be happy to have made your point?.

Just gub them, and get home, then gub them harder at Celtic Park.

Fekin mutants, and people worrying about watching them.

  27. Dave King isn’t daft. He knows his audience, and boy are they mind numbingly stupid. The Huns will lap up his comments of the last few days which are designed to distract from his dodgy retail deal which has absolutely shafted each and every one of them who has put their hands in their pockets. May i just take the opportunity to thank the complicit SMSM for their role in that as MASH laughs all the way to the bank. Dave King also wants to associate his new club with Celtic at each and every opportunity, simply because it’s good for business. Ignore him. Brendan will put them in their place again and again and again.

  28. !!Bada Bing!! on

Turkeybhoy- agree, but as Doc and others have posted, play on 11/12 as the draw stated, if they cant do it for whatever reason, nuetral venue.FWIW i think we could have sold tickets to Irish Bhoys who know the lie of the land, and reward them for their visits to CP.
