CVA schedule hits time crunch

417

There was a degree of anticipation that we would hear the official announcement today of the creditors meeting Duff and Phelps planned to hold on 6 June, where a vote would be held on the proposed CVA.  Creditors must receive notification of a meeting, with proposals, 14 days in advance, with notice normally given by post and by advertisement.

STV today revealed that the administrators hope to send details “at some point this week”.  Tomorrow is the last postal date for items to be delivered on time for a 6 June meeting, but it’s seldom administrators would leave themselves at the fortune of the final postal collection.  It would be embarrassing if Duff and Phelps were unable to even get to the stage of putting a proposal to creditors.

Inspired by the stories of three children, Celtic Quick News readers this year have raised a considerable sum of money for research into Neuroblastoma.  One of them, Niamh Curry, age 5, slipped away yesterday.    There are no words or sentiment of consolation to offer, but our thoughts and prayers go to Niamh and her family.

But I strongly suspect they will not want any comeback on report – so will want every possible player investigated. Just sayin.

Was on huns media (I know but It gives you an insight ino how sick minds work) there and they have a post about RTC and they’ve put a guy’s name who posts alot on there and the town he lives In, there also basically giving his street address aswell. Wasn’t long ago on here someone wanted to know who was involved in the RTC website and was quickly advised how stupid this could be. Was posted from that horrible VB bunch, there the lowest of the low In huns and thats saying something from that lot. There not even 100% sure, they say “we are led to believe”, what if this poor guy has nothing to do with the RTC website, even If he does Is he not allowed to post anything about there demise, the naming of him has got to mean the police getting involved surely?

Don’t think I ever got past the first paragraph of Tolstoy as a child / youngster.

Never tried as an adult – think I always preferred stuff I could relate to.

Maybe I should re-visit all these old classics.

I think Mr Tolstoy will forever remain an unexplored mystery to me though.

Agreed. When the inevitable happens give the SPL our 2 year notice. That will kill the TV deal stone dead and also any deal for a Clydesdale Bank league sponsorship replacement next year. Inform the SFA why we have resigned from the SPL and tell them we expect them to uphold the sporting integrity of Scottish football and ensure that we are playing in the top Scottish league in 2 years time. Inform UEFA what we are doing and tell them we expect them to ensure that the SFA comply with their FFP measures and that all clubs meet their registration requirements.

The group, whose chairman is former Tannadice director Derek Robertson, has estimated a top flight without the Ibrox club would see the Tangerines revenue drop by £1.4 million.

There’s no point asking for documentation to establish credibility, documents can be faked.

Someone claiming to be operating at that level must be known to people in the public sphere who could confirm whether or not he’s genuine.

  21. Newco Rangers could avoid sanctions from SPL

    By Alasdair Lamont

    BBC Scotland

Rangers could start next season as a new company in the Scottish Premier League without incurring any sanctions – such as a points deduction or fine.

A vote will take place next week to decide what should happen to clubs who come out of administration in this way as “a new company”.

“I am not entirely sure why a distinction is made between the two routes out of administration”

    Neil Doncaster

    SPL chief executive

Fans of other clubs have been demanding tough sanctions.

But SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: “Newcos have been allowed within UK football for many years.”

Rangers hope to exit administration via a Company Voluntary Arrangement under the consortium led by Charles Green.

But the former Sheffield United chief executive and his group may seek a “newco” route if such a proposal is rejected by creditors.

“Newco is typically the way businesses in general escape from administration,” Doncaster told BBC Scotland.

“It’s far more common than a CVA.

“So I am not entirely sure why a distinction is made between the two routes out of administration.”

SPL clubs will meet at Hampden Park on 30 May to debate new financial fair play rules, having twice delayed voting on the proposals.

Aye right, has he just moved it fom the Greek bank, then to the Portugese bank before finally clearing it through the Provvy bank just in time for it to be moved thru the Loadamince bank just in time to buy them for under a pound or a pair of sports socks, 3 for a pound, sports socks…..ha ha ha…

The last sentence is an indictment of this foolish man and the role he has.

He has not got a clue why a distinction is made between the two routes out of administration. A distinction that we all know about: one alows the creditors to be part of the solution while the other one doesn’t. In his view, as long as the club comes out of administration, the route and the real cost and collateral damage is immaterial.

That he is prepared to say this in a publicly reported interview is breathtakingly inane.

In effect, I don’t know what I am talking about, but I still think this is a good idea.

This is my first post after along time out there ‘lurking’. Thanks to CQN for informing, educating and keeping me entertained during these times, unparalleled in the history of Scottish football. I hope some of you find my thoughts at least slightly interesting and take the time to read them. Based on todays pronouncements from Neil Doncaster over the ongoing farce which is RFC(IA) my mind drifts to that press releasse a number of weeks ago by the SFA about them looking to bring the Scottish league structure fully under its control. At the time , it was thought of a whimsical side-story – now I am not so sure. Maybe our beloved Celtic will take the lead and start the exodus under the SFA banner (who would have thought that!) and save Scottish football from the blind walk into oblivion as a sport based on integrity. We would become no better than WWF or any other wrestling franchise that dresses itself up as a sport.

Final thoughts on my first post are with family of Niamh on their sad loss.Be comforted by the fact that she is now safe with the angels.
