Firhill is the stage, fickle looking form

520

You can imagine the anticipation Celtic players as they arrived for training this morning for Saturday’s visit to Firhill. They must be bursting a gut, just desperate to get onto the field and do their stuff. You and I have seen lots of this team, but right now, today, they will have an edge that’s been missing for so long. They have questions to answer, points to prove and a league title to win.

Firhill will be their stage. If anyone at Lennoxtown is in doubt about the job required, I still have my boots, just let me at them.

It’s indicative of where we are that those two draws (Hamilton and Dundee) plunged us into a form crisis. Since the turn of the year we’ve won 9 out of 13 games, failing to win twice with 10 men, once away to our nearest challengers, and that awful Dundee game at Celtic Park. Were it not for the two red cards, I expect the dip in form would be scarcely noticeable.

Over the same period Aberdeen have had a far easier programme, playing only 9 games (in 9 weeks). They’ve won six of these games, including the last two, which has put a more respectable look on their form. It’s still not any better than Celtic’s, though.

We’re still playing fixture catch-up, as we’ve six games in the next five weeks, to Aberdeen’s four, but that’s the price of reaching the latter stages of cup competitions.

  1. I was also under the impression that Res 12 was moving along and revelations and progress was imminent. I was never convinced that was the case but I do appreciate the work done by the Res 12 team.

I now have zero hope that this is going anywhere and Celtic are complicit in making sure that is the case.

In my opinion this was destined to fail from the very start.

When the new club were made to start from the bottom division, Scottish football decided that the Huns would suffer no more punishment and I think that Celtic agreed to that. I’m always reminded of Lenny being vocal in title stripping then weeks later waxing lyrical about the Huns.

It’s often the little things that make the biggest impression and I’m also reminded of a conversation between Tommy Gold and Campbell Ogilvie at around the same time.

I was astounded at how cocky and self assured Ogilvie was considering the heat was at its highest, the fix was already in and our club had given assurances that was the case.

In summary in my opinion their will be no title stripping and nothing will come from Res 12 and our club knew this all from as far back in the summer of 2012.

As a shareholder I feel this is totally unforgivable and the game is a total sham.

Cap doffed to the resolution 12 bhoys.

Like yourself, I feel no matter what, the barriers put up won’t be knocked down.

After reading what was said today, time has been run down, the fix has been done and I think our board were well aware of the timeline.

    Sickens me. HH

    Newradbhoy,

The point is, getting an answer or action from UEFA, it is the boards responsibility to write to UEFA, the board have all the information and evidence they need.

When we first started the meetings with them we were told if we provided the bullets they would fire them, currently they are sitting on an arsenal and haven’t fired a single shot.

Every obstacle they built, as they put it, being devils advocate, we removed.

There are no more obstacles left and still no action with very limited time, thought we have ensured there is still enough time, it’s beginning to feel like they ran out of obstacles to put in our way to delays us any further and are simply not interested.

We may have mistook the obstacles as help when in fact they were simply obstacles put in our way to slow us down in the hope that people would loose interest, that’s how it’s feeling right now.

As far as I can see it’s the boys in long trousers who are caught with them round their ankles.

  4. Canamalar

If that is the case and they wont act in the interests of the club and the support, then it will hugely damage the finances going forward, remind me again who was it that cheated?

  5. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    SID,

Res12 was never about rangers, I wish people would stop thinking we have targeted rangers, this is about the SFA and the corruption in licensing.

Rangers application provided the evidence to prove the SFA are corrupt that the long and short, and don’t be so pessimistic yet, this has still to run its course.

  6. This week I felt quite negatively about the prospect of the Huns being on the receiving end of justice, however that was just temporary. Negativity can be a powerful emotion – if one considers negativity an emotion – but it passes.

Anyway, I have returned to the view that their uppence will come. So too shall it for the SFA. They think they are bulletproof, and believe it is their right to be. However, in the end, the bad guys lose. Sometimes it just takes time.

Today I am up in Glasgow on business and it has been great to chat to some Tims face to face (something I’ve been starved of for the last few months), and while many have varied opinions on the quality of our team and recent performances, they all have a strong desire to see justice done with regard to the zombies and the blazers. Ultimately that will unite fans of differing views and make Celtic supporters a strong force to be reckoned with.

All Celtic fans owe a debt of gratitude to the CQNers and others on other blogs for fighting the cause for justice behind which we can unite.

    Once again, cheers leads.

  7. Not had a chance to read back in full yet but disturbed about what Canamalar is saying. Now I’ve just heard a news report on the radio re HMRC’s Supreme Court victory against the Deutschebank and it sounds like EBT usage or similar to me. If this court pronouncement had been a few days earlier no appeal would have been granted, methinks.

The dead club’s creditors have been well and truly stiffed. There is not a snowball’s chance in hell that BDO will win that appeal after today’s ruling. Is it just me or does anybody else think that there may have been some collusion between HMRC and BDO to have this case heard in the Supreme Court?

It is now time for the Celtic Board to act! Are they more interested in playing regular games against some tribute act or keeping the loyalty of a sizeable number of their fans and ST holders intact? I for one, a shareholder, will not be forgiving of this Board if they let the cheating scumbags away with it.

Tell me what other national football association would allow its standing in the game both at club level and internationally go down the pan for the sake of one club as the SFA have done over the last 30 years and more?

  8. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Dessybhoy,

Couldn’t have been timed better for them, the old firm fans will most likely replace anyone who walks away. Old firm fans don’t care about the integrity of they game they love the WWF and the cheating. As long as they get their fix.

  9. Canamalar

I fully understand Res 12 is about the SFA, I still believe our club gave assurances back in the summer of 2012 that Celtic would take no action on these events, we need to know why they are taking no action.

  10. Canamalar…

It might not be about newco but most that read this blog are affected with the complicity of the sfa towards them.

Our boards contempt for their own supporters might come back to haunt them.

As thems grow we dwindle, time for a statement from our board, on behalf of our support and nail the lies…once and for all.

re the Lets All Move On Lecturers

So let me get this right ,they are saying that all the paying supporters of all the rest of the football clubs in Scotland should just.

Move on and forget about the biggest sporting scandal ever in the history of our game .

Move on and ignore the biggest lie ever in the history of our game

Move on and not demand that justice is served for the biggest

heist of trophies ever in the history of our game

Move on and forget about the biggest breaking and bending of the rules ever in the history of our game

Move on and leave the abhoration that is the 5 way agreement secret

Move on and pretend that a club that came into being in 2012 is the same club that is RFC (IL) and can simply claim a trophy haul that has absoloutley nothing what so ever to do with THEM.

Move on and allow the people that were entrusted to ensure a fair and honest sport in this country are allowed to escape being brought to book for doing the total opposite .

Move on and refuse to question how CO could have held office in RFC(IL) and the SFA and not known what was going on regarding the WTC and BTC schemes and the existance of side letters to players .

Move on and let slip the fact that the SFA issued a Euro licence to RFC (IL) knowing they had an oustanding tax liability .

I am sorry but this time its the rest of the paying scottish football supporters turn to say

    WE DON,T DO WALKING AWAY

    “Just doesn’t cut it”

Will need to agree to differ Eddie

Here is hoping a fire is lit because they need to go on a good run with no dropped points, target must be win all games up to we play Aberdeen, hard task but still should be the goal.

A settled team selection would also help

  13. Canamalar

That would be twice a year in the league, nowhere near enough to make up the shortfall, if that is what they are gambling on we are going to see a sharp decline in turnover profit and even worse qua;ity of player.

Integrity not a consideration in their calculations, the game is indeed up if this happens

  14. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Sips,

I can tell you unequivocally this has nothing to do with newco, in fact less to do with them than even rangers. It is and always was pointed squarely at the SFA.

Remember lhads, rangers done us a big favour here, leaving a trail of corruption a blind man could follow :)

We should be thanking rangers for their part in exposing the corruption at the SFA :)

Sorry to post that our friend Mountblow Tim’s wife lost her long battle with illness today.

No more pain or suffering. May God rest her soul and give you strength D.

  17. Canamalar

Your posts today are revealing, though entirely predictable and not unexpected, to me anyway.

I can only imagine the frustration, disappointment and even anger that you and the other Res12 guys must be feeling.

I salute you all for your diligence, perseverance and bloody hard work, but increasingly this looks like heading where I always thought it would.

  18. Huns on CQN telling us that Res 12 has no chance, there will be no title stripping, our board is complicit and no doubt we will lose the league to Aberdeen and zombies will beat us in the semi, go on to win the cup and then subvert more rules to gain entry into Europe next season.

    Aye right.

  19. ciarans dad 2 on

Just been reading a FT article on the Supreme Court decision on HMRC versus Deutsche Bank and UBS. There are similarities to the Big Tax Case as bonuses were paid as shares in order to avoid Income Tax & NI. The cases dated back to 2003-2004.

The Supreme Court ruling stated that the arrangements were “no more than disguised or artificially contrived methods of paying cash to employees”.

This language is familiar to the Scottish Law Lords findings on the Big Tax Case.

    The message: be patient

Until we nail them down, they will always cry wolf.

Oh well, let’s see how it pans out… Reckon if we’re still going in twenty years the huns will keep proclaiming they are the same club.HH

Not really into the board aspect of Celtic more about the Football for me but I feel let down by the suits.

Would guess a high majority of Celtic fans don’t even know about Res 12. Maybe a flier outlining the issue handed out at Hearts game. Get the foot soldiers on side. Name and shame board.
