Hearts first of 5 big games left

586

Fixtures between now and the end of the season fall into two categories: games between Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts, and the rest. Aberdeen and Celtic each have to play Hearts home and away, while the only remaining fixture between the top two will take place at Celtic Park.

Despite the last minute turn-around and Aberdeen’s collapse two weeks ago, we are still very much in a title race which a reversal tomorrow would illustrate. Aberdeen don’t play until Sunday, so, as with two weeks ago, they will have to sit on wait on Celtic’s result. Derek McInnes will have marked this game out weeks ago as one he needs Celtic to drop points in.

Celtic have a settled look about the side. The goalkeeper and defenders have settled into good form, while a fully fit Brown and Bitton anchor the midfield. With Leigh Griffiths up front it’s the three places behind the striker Ronny Deila has to make decisions for.

Kris Commons enjoys playing against Hearts and has not been exerted by international football, he should play. Unlike Tom Rogic, who will surely sit out after his trip to Australia. Your guess is as good as mine as to who will play on the flanks.

    Big Nan

I honestly can’t remember the detail of my DM but I will read back and try to get a handle on it.

    OK, a couplemof things.

Yup, you are right I did defend Ken Mure. If I recall I said I had respect for the man and that I found him to be a decent gent and a good lawyer. If I recall correctly, I sad that before the FTT decision and I probably said it after.

I think I also said that I coudl see how he reached his decision, and I said at the time that I thought there was a mesage in the fact that neither he nor his colleague gave any dissenting opinions on the consluions and assessments reached by Heidi Poon in her dissenting judgement in so far as her logic re the hsam argument nor her view of the quality of the witnesses.

Again, I haven’t seen or spoken to Mr Mure on well over a decade, but a long time ago I found him to be a decent and good guy. Others were of the same view. For what it is worth the late Peter McCann was one such.

As for reporting back and being “appointed” etc.

First can I point out that I was never “appointed” to anything but was asked kind of late on in the day to help out Morrissey in particular who, in going to Celtic Park, felt he as being thrown into the Lion’s den.

Until that point, I ha dnothing really to do with Res 12 though over the years I had ahd several discussions with Auldheid and others abput how you get a resolution on to the AGM agenda.

In truth, I came into this because I happened to be handy.

Wuth regard to reporting back, Yes I take your point re being open and candid. Personally, I am all for that.

Sometimes, I would counsel that whatever reporting was to be done should wait until something had been confirmed and sometimes that advice was taken.

On other occasions, I have counselled being open in cartain areas where others have wanted to be more guarded. I think Canamalar confirmed that on here last night.

Sometimes I am persuasive enough to get my way, on other occasions I am outvoted or disagreed with.

On yet other occsions, for personal reasons I have not been at certain meetings or have been away from the fray while the others have forged ahead.

    What more can I say?

You do yer best when you can. It won’t please everyone sometimes but hey that’s life. The only person looking back in the mirror is yourself.

Lastly, I would never want anyone to castigate you or anyone else for being sceptical or in disagreement. As you say, I have never met you and don’t know you.

If we get anywhere with this — and note my IF because I can be as sceptical as anyone on here — there should be no need for you or anyone else to run off or take your leave of this blog or do any such thing.

I welcome the day when Res 12 finishes and hopefully it will finish successfully. Hopefully, it will also show Celtic supporters that you can use the company rules to raise and force an issue and that in the future the same porocess can possibly be used again if necessary – but hopefully by someone else.

I don’t agree with the description “heroes” — that is just not right.

I agree with Mike in Toronto though — most lawyers have nae sense and you should always presume that they know less than nothing.

  2. Gordon64, agreed, Scott hasn’t been at his best, but motivation always seems to be something that gets him playing.

As evidence, Diouf. he played out of his skin in a 11 v 10 game, scored and did the Broonie.

And he has quality, and that will be evident before too long.

I’ll always remember yourself and Roy carefully making your way out of the CC, GAA Club, car park early on Easter Sunday ( the car park can be tricky).

Is it possible that they were there to open a record shop for Davy ?

    It`s the `70s .

I`m sure Davy would have retired by then.

Thanks for all your music .

    None my business of course.
